Simple dishes cooked amazingly well. Both the fish and the lamb were delicious. I ate inside the restaurant and it's a small, humble place with good service. I would come back here all the time if I lived closer!

Best home feeling place, quick service fresh and food don't need review. It's just an excellent experience

A very yummy spot for Yemeni. We ordered a variety of proteins: a fish, 2 kinds of chicken, 2 kinds of lamb. As well as the baba ganoush. And salad. The baba ganoush is very good. Usually I don't like it bc it's bland but this was flavorful. All the protein dishes come with plenty of rice. The chicken is well spiced but dry. I needed the yogurt sauce. The fish and hanish lamb was definitely my favorite. Very well seasoned and falls off the bone. The zurbian lamb is a dish where everything is mixed together. Overall it's a great spot to try Yemeni.

My friends and I came here to try some Yemeni food. The restaurant is what you would describe as a hole in the wall. Don't let the atmosphere of the restaurant scare you away, they only have menu on the website so you have to use the QR code on the table. The server was very helpful on some suggestions. There is no free water here, you can only buy bottle of waters. The baked fish was so delicious that order one to go from my mom. The portion size of the food is worth the money and it taste good. The Yemeni tea they have is really good tea as well. We got the Mandi lamb and the meat just fall off the bone. The chicken was okay, but I may try a different one next time. The Hanith chicken was good but a bit dry for me.

Excellent food, excellent service. We ordered a big plate of the Goat Mandi and the Grilled Fish, the rice was great and the meat was so tender. Their service was excellent, the food was on time and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely delicious. High standard place and quality is tops. Soup must be paired with rice and meat dishes . Date dessert was fantastic . Can't go wrong here . Hole in the wall for sure.

First time eating Yemeni food and I am excited. This place is not much to look at if you're into atmosphere, stop reading now and go elsewhere! I ordered a house salad and house soup only because they were out of the other appetizers. So far the service is extremely slow. I've been sitting here 20 minutes and haven't seen any food. Just as I wrote this the salad and soup arrived the salad was just cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce in a vinegar dressing. The soup was merely spices in a broth nothing else. The soup was the best tasting thing all night even though it's probably what you would be served in a third world prison and had no substance what so ever, not a single vegetable or meat. A few minutes the Hanith chicken arrived. It was a half chicken over a bed of spiced rice. The chicken had a strange texture and did not taste right. I will eat most anything no matter the texture if it tastes right. I eat a lot and almost always finish everything on the plate. I only ate a couple bites of the chicken and decided the best idea was to make a getaway and go somewhere good. I overheard the waiter talking to another table that just arrived about them being out of everything. The other patron complained that this was the second week in a row he tried to come eat there and they were out of everything. Those patrons left without eating and went elsewhere. It appears that the owner of this business is not interested in what people think about his restaurant. I am baffled by all the good reviews. Maybe it's people looking for comfort food from back home but they are suspicious. I will NOT be back to this place.

Marq in the small bowls , Two big plates of Mandi GOAT

They have 100 reviews on google with a rating of 4.9 basically 5 stars This is as authentic (Yemeni food) as it will get in Houston. The Marq ( soup) is must try! ( PS is a little spicy if you never had it before but it's good not like spicy spicy .... Just try it ) Mandi Goat is 5/5 - the meat was tender and so flavorful, (a tad salty) but I would still recommend it and I would come back! UPDATE: - Second visit we tried Marq (again ) still 5/5 - (it's traditionally how my family has always started a Yemeni meal always Marq first ) Hanith Lamb 5/5 , perfection ! - Tender, flavor, portion , everything. Grilled Fish 5/5 - flavor and texture just melts 5/5

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Sheba is definitely a hidden gem in Houston. They serve authentic Yemeni food. The lamb falls right off the bone .The chicken and lamb are both cooked to perfection. The food was 10 out of 10.

We tried the turkey, brisket, and jalapeño sausage, and every one of them was delicious. The brisket was especially impressive--moist, incredibly tender, and so soft you didn't even need a knife to cut it. The sides were very good, but the meats were definitely the highlight of the meal. One thing we really appreciated was the toppings bar, which included pickles, onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, and two different barbecue sauces so you could customize each bite. They even had a mini soft-serve ice cream machine for a little dessert after your meal, which was a nice touch. They also offer family meal options, making it a great choice for larger groups. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The lychee ceviche I was looking forward to was underwhelming. More beautiful than tasty, which the dessert suffered the same fate. The soccer ball was photogenic but it should be both with the level of sophistication in taste they acquire in their craft. It was reminiscent of a Cadbury egg. Just the peaches and the chocolate were unimpressive and not complimentary of each other. The tuna papad was amazing. Some subtle hints of aromatic Indian flavors and and sweetness. The contrast of crisp and soft and presented well. That's how I expected each dish. The rizala was creamy but not exciting with bold flavors like I was hoping. The lamb was inconsistent. One of them was tough and texture/taste off. The rest were tender but not flavorful enough in seasoning. Tried a new naan. Nimbu it was ok but too thin for naan and the lemon essence didn't really spread well across. Mango pina colada was nice. Quite disappointing for $220 though. Possible I just ordered terribly. The chef tasting menu didn't look appetizing or sound very Indian so I ordered à la cart.

We ain't in Queens anymore…read more For years, I've eaten on Shah's all around the borough, initially out in Ozone Park and Briarwood before finding a real audience in Sunnyside. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

This is a nicely sized spot next to the Jusgo plaza in Houston Chinatown, so plenty of parking and also food options. It's tucked in a corner but should not be written off. Its a pretty casual sitdown restaurant and we were welcomed and sat pretty quickly on a Saturday around 8:30PM. We were provided menus and started ordering everything that sounded good (within reason for 2, sorta). We ended up getting the Uyghur polo with lamb shank, Uyghur goshnaan, korma chop, garlic cucumbers, mint tea, and a yogurt for dessert. This was more than enough food for 2 but I wanted to try a bunch and this is me holding back. The Uyghur goshnaan was very crispy and the filling was flavorful and juicy, good lamb flavor and nice spices. The Uyghur polo with lamb shank was great and the pilaf had a nice sweetness with raisins that cut through some of the fatty richness of the lamb. The korma chop was also super flavorful with a nice savory sauce and noodled with an excellent texture, very QQ. I don't usually order cucumbers at Asian restaurants cause I can make a cucumber salad pretty easily at home but the one here was very good. Excellent refreshing crunch and garlic flavor to go with all the other dishes. The mint tea was also nice to wash down the mountains of food I was inhaling. I also enjoyed the yogurt, it's a thicker yogurt like a Greek yogurt and topped with honey and raisins. Again, a nice sweet/tart treat that didn't feel too heavy after everything else. I definitely need to come back as I didn't even get my big plate chicken but it'll be hard to choose between all the options. I def recommend this spot, esp if you like lamb as all the dishes we had were excellent and priced fairly for the portion and current economic situation.

I noticed they now advertise 50 flavors, and the specials have changed as well. Unfortunately, just my luck, my usual flavor, Spicy Lemon Pepper BBQ, is no longer on the menu. I decided to try Spicy Lemon Pepper Honey instead, and it was actually really good. I'd definitely order that flavor again. My friend ordered the same flavor, but her order only came out as regular Spicy Lemon Pepper, so she was understandably disappointed with that mix-up. I also ordered two separate 6-count wing orders ($10.99 each) and was only given one ranch sauce. Mind you, these weren't part of a wing special. If I had ordered a 12-count with two flavors, I would've understood, but ordering two separate 6-counts made me assume we'd each get our own sauce. Maybe I should've been more specific, but honestly, I didn't think that would be necessary. The other odd part of the experience was requesting the wings to be fried hard. The cook came out from the back three separate times to confirm that's what I wanted and kept emphasizing that it would take 20 minutes. I was a little confused because, yes, that's exactly how I ordered them, and I was perfectly fine waiting since I'm paying for the food. I even asked how long they normally cook them because all the repeated confirmations started making me concerned. The reason I requested them fried hard in the first place was because during a previous visit, the wings were soft and borderline undercooked. Overall, the wings were good this time around, but the multiple service hiccups made the experience a little frustrating. I'd probably come back, but maybe on a Wednesday for the .99 special because there are other places in Houston with better wing deals at this price point. The food has potential, especially with all the flavor options, but consistency and attention to detail could definitely be improved.
