I'm honestly pretty disappointed with my experience. I ordered the lamb and rice, and I understand that lamb can naturally come with bones and some fat, that part wasn't the issue. The problem was that there was so much fat and bone compared to the actual meat that I couldn't even finish my meal.On top of that, I paid around $29 for the plate, which I personally feel is pretty expensive, especially considering the amount of food I was actually able to eat.Unfortunately, I didn't notice how bad it was until I got home and opened the container, otherwise I would have said something at the restaurant. I had the Lamb Hanith with extra lamb and both types of Sambusa, beef and chicken. The sambusa were great and recommend both. The lamb hanith was great as well and very filling, I shouldn't have gotten extra lamb. The meal comes with two sauces and I use the yogurt sauce on the rice since the rice was slightly dry. I need to try the Mandi Lamb again when I come back. The service was great and the lady at the counter was very patient with me and explained to me the difference between all the lamb dishes they have. The lamb hanith (lamb shank piece) and chicken zurbiyan were really dry. Fattoush and marag were alright. But what got me upset was the service. So, I usually don't write about service because people can have bad days and what not. The waitress was annoyed with us as soon as we sat on the table. I just let it go because maybe she was having a long day, but then another group came in and she started smiling and laughing with them. I have come here many times with friends and family and every time the waiters miss the simplest (but most important) things like plates and silverware! What's worse is when you ask them you are given lackluster responses. This was my first time eating food from Yemen. I originally thought it was Indian bc of the biryani chicken on the menu, but my friend who introduced it to me told me it wasn't. They ended up giving it to us all in one big party platter (which makes no sense in general - if you have different orders, why put them in one tray, and no sense during covid times either) and added in lamb (when we called to ask about lamb they originally told us they didn't have it...), so we don't know if this was our order or a mix up. But all our chicken was accounted for in the platter and our hummus/pita appetizer was there. Aside from the confusing and odd mix up/customer service, the food was great.
