Falafel wrap

Food service and ambiance was beyond perfect I will definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to try the best middle eastern restaurant in chicago

Chicken Tikka Kabob Pita Wrap

Shawarma Inn is a hidden gem! Stepping inside its a cozy, family owned restaurant with such hospitable staff! I loved the chicken tikka kabob pita wrap because the spices from the chicken tikka sauce were very savory and enhanced the juicy flavor of the pita wrap itself! Would come back again!

Combination platter

I have been coming here for 10 years. The food is so good! I always get the combination platter with lentil soup. This is one of the few restaurants I know where soup and salad are included with the price of the entree. The restaurant also has the most delicious homemade sauces. The service is good and the food is delicious.

COMBINATION PLATE FTW !

Worst middle eastern food I ever had. Ate enough to not be hungry and trashed the rest. What a waste.

It's a pretty casual spot and was busy when I went, but don't let that fool you! The quality of the sushi for the price is honestly hard to beat. Everything tasted really fresh, and the portions were surprisingly generous for what you're paying. I've had sushi at much more expensive places that didn't feel nearly as worth it. Definitely one of those spots where you're coming for the food rather than the atmosphere, and I'm perfectly fine with that! Service was good, and despite how busy it was, I didn't have to wait, which was a nice bonus. Parking is mostly on the nearby streets, so just something to keep in mind when visiting. Overall, an easy 5/5 for me. Fresh sushi, great portions, and prices that are hard to complain about. Would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi without spending a fortune!

It's the same concept as Boiling Crab or Kickin Crab in California. It is BYOB! So I walked across the street to Target, got some Seltzers and brought them to our table. This is prob the one thing that I love the most. Great service. The seafood boil is pretty good. They give you a bib and gloves to keep you relatively clean. You have to use your hands to eat your food and work for it. Go for the seafood Cajun sauce (garlic, butter, lemon pepper). It was super good flavor. Mild is the way to go. We asked for spicy sauce on the side for an extra dollar. I would skip the preset family meals. Order 1-2 lbs of your favorite seafood. They have prices per lb on the large chalk board. The shrimp, crawfish was cooked well. The crab legs were boiled before cooked, so the shell was soft and easy to cut with scissors. Next time, I'd get the shrimp, crawfish, clams, and mussels. The family feast ($145)- came with king crab, snow crab, option of 2 from shrimp, crawfish, mussels, clams. Also, a scoop of rice, green beans, garlic noodles, and fries. I would pass on the king crab and snow crab. Garlic noodles were average. Fries were average . They also sell boba drinks if you like that

I would not recommend the chicken bites for the kids meal. They were very dry.

It's surprisingly hard to find one that's consistently good, but Crab King is by far my favorite. What sets them apart is the sauce and seasoning. It's flavorful without being overly salty, and the medium spice level is just right. I've been to Lowcountry plenty of times, and I personally find their boils way too salty. I honestly don't understand the hype when compared to Crab King. As of now, this is the best seafood boil I've had in Chicago. Of course, if a new spot opens, I'll happily give it a try, but Crab King is currently my #1. Their happy hour is also hard to beat. The seafood boil deals are great, and the $1 oysters are an added bonus. If you're a seafood boil lover, I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

The lobster roll was mostly bread and very little lobster. The lobster in it was very small, stringy pieces and nothing like the large chunks in their own Instagram images. I would be willing to pay more for a better sandwich with more (and better) lobster. It wasn't premium lobster in look or taste to be honest. This sandwich, in its current form, is a hard pass. Mussels were okay. A few that didn't open, but that's to be expected. I'm not sure how fresh they were since they had a bit of a fishier scent. They give you a head of garlic, a lemon, a baguette and a tub of compound butter. It's great in theory, but the butter was tasteless and I could just as easily used my own butter and other ingredients. The customer service was okay. We called ahead to make sure they had all of the elements of the mussels as part of the package and the person ringing me up still had no idea what I was talking about. In the end she made sure everything was there after I brought it up so it was fine. One other issue I had was that they just put the mussel mesh bag in my bag and they leaked mussel juice/water over everything else in the bag. Two of those things were tinned fish gifts for someone else and the cardboard was soaked in fishy smelling liquid. I know there is a new owner and I really hope he does the things he needs to improve and make this place worth it. Right now I can't see going back when there are places like Boston Fish Market that get it right.
