Came here on a whim after getting off work late. I was met with a friendly hello and she took my order. As I waited for my food, I looked around rhe dining area which was sparse but people were eating and chatting. I received my food and bolted home to dig in. The gyro was good but different than what I'm used to. There wasn't any raw onions or tomatoes, but it had grilled/sautéed onion on it. The tzatziki sauce was on the bottom and it "melted" so I wasn't able to really taste it. The flavors were on point but I might have to ask for the raw onions and tomatoes the next time. Don't get me wrong it was a good gyro and it hit the spot even though it was a little off target. read more

Mr. kabab food is DELICIOUS! And TASTY!! Flavor upon flavor had made my tummy happy. The food is very filling I couldn't even finish my plate had it for lunch and dinner. It also came with a side of soup, Again #DELICIOUS. The workers are nice and friendly. Coming from Florida to Chicago this place was the first place we stopped by for food. HIDDEN GEM! Very authentic and delicious middle eastern and Iraqi food.. these guys do it right. Probably the best in the city. Their catfish Masghouf is the best I've ever had.. it's the Iraqi national dish and they make it the same way my mom and grandma made it. The shawarma and kabobs are excellent. Their lentil soup is made exactly like my moms from back in Iraq. This place is definitely worth a try. You will not be disappointed! This my second time here ordering for pick up through Grubhub Pickup. I love this place! It's super convenient since it's on Peterson Plaza( one block from me). I'm a fatty and I was stuffed with the chicken shawarma entree, the amount of food is perfect for left overs. The staff is highly friendly and professional. I think the owner was there too. Omg what a treat! I was craving a large plate of crunchy salad with grilled chicken and Mr.Kabab had exactly what I wanted. The fattoush tasted authentic, the chicken kebab was juicy and seasoned perfectly. It was huge and I'm hoping my leftovers survive the ride home. I've eaten here three or four times now. I think they have some of the best gyro meat in the city. I had a gyro sandwich today and they put it together with a lot of care. Its not just the meat and toppings thrown into a pita, they put more effort in than that. They also offer Turkish tea, which I've had a few times. read more

I was craving Mediterranean Food so I searched that and this place popped up. Everyone was really clean, wearing a mask and professional. The cashier was super nice and extremely accommodating. I tried it out, the portions are BIG. I'm a big lady and I was absolutely stuffed. The flavors are good and the food is always hot. J only went here as a "treat meal" from my diet. I love this short order place! Their seasonings are Syrian/Lebanese style where the kefta is lamb, parsley, garlic and onion. It's so delicious! Their hummus and baba ghanoush recipe is spot on. Their salads are fresh. Their cooking surfaces and kitchen area is always CLEAN. They are very pleasant and the prices are great for the quality. At noon, they unlocked the door, no hello or greeting - just straight behind the counter and to the kitchen for us to order at the screen in the front. The screen was filthy (they just opened as a reminder) we couldn't tell what was in the 'combo' and then when we were going to order the boneless chicken wings, as they were gluten free when we ordered them years ago, I asked one of the women in the kitchen to confirm. She said no, I don't think so. And walked away without any further guidance for what I might be able to eat on their menu. It's not a preference, it's a dietary restriction - so we walked out from there. They clearly had no interest in helping me or our business. A real disappointment after driving 30 minutes out of our way to try and enjoy it.

So I heard the food was really good and naturally I had to see for myself. The place is very clean and the staff is great, they're friendly people! They provide a substantial, clean, and safe dine-in experience during these trying times which made me happy. Fast forward to when I ordered the Kabab, it's in the name so I had to try it. After my first bite I realized this was one of the best Kababs I've ever had. The salad and pickled veggies accentuate it perfectly, not to mention the steaming rice. I love middle eastern food and it was amazing, I have come back multiple times since. So far I've tried the Gyros and Lamb shank and each time I was shocked at the quality and taste. I'm literally going to try everything here. 5 star taste, quality, and service! Will be back soon to try to the shawarma! read more

I went to grab some dinner for my family and this was the right place! Mr. Kabab has the best Mediterranean food that I've had in Chicago. We got all different types of plates and sandwiches and not one failed! We also tried the soups and Greek fries and they were great. We crave it constantly now, I recommend for everyone to try it. There are many great flavors and options to choose from. The service was exceptional and very quick after I was in a rush. Definitely going to be back! read more

Me and friends were looking at restaurants for our bachelor party while we were in Chicago and put mr. Kabob on the list because the name made us laugh and became an inside joke about going there. Greatest Mediterranean food I've had in Chicago hands down! Tried the fresh chicken shawarma, gyros, and beef shawarma, it all was amazing with so many choices to pick from and it all was great and made quickly. Everyone there is very helpful and kind. Going to come back for sure. read more

My bud digested his lunch special with chicken shawarma, rice, hummus and salad with no complaints. We were both amused with the menu's depiction of the weekend special - an entire lamb head with rice. It's probably quite a treat for carnivores craving a lamb head. We each drank a can of "Healthy Cola" - zero sugar and zero calorie beverages out of Saudi Arabia. My lemon mint was AOK, and I presume my bud was fine with his cola, as he prefers a diet cola anyway. I was facing outward towards the street view, so I could not tell if there was just a one-man gang working at the restaurant. We asked one time for a take-out box, but we had to ask the server three separate times for the check, and finally we were asked to come up to the register to pay for our meal.
