This place is really good. I'm Assyrian and rarely get Middle Eastern food from restaurants. The food here is on point though. I got a combination plate with yellow and white rice. It comes with shirwa of your choice. I had the beans. Everything was so flavorful. Portions are very generous. The service was fast and friendly. I love the chicken shawarma! Either plate or wrap are my favorite! They offer $10 lunch special for shawarma warps, it comes with fries and a drink. I think it is a great deal during Covid Pandemic! Looks and smells new to me. We had a combination plate/entree. It was amazing shared it with the wife and still had leftovers. Easily feeds 2 people. She liked the chicken shawarma alot. Don't let the reasonable prices fool you..there is little value in this food. To start with, they don't have a combo with fries and drinks. Id like an option like that The fries were barely warm and were lying out for a long time The gyros was okay. Id sugges slicing the meat a bit thicker. First of all the family that owns and runs the place couldn't be more friendly and welcoming and nice. Second of all the food has been amazing every time I tried something new. The hubby and I tried mr.kabab the first time a couple months ago. I got the combination platter, it was aight. Needed more seasoning for sure. My man got a gyro sandwich and he was disappointed. His gyro had dried or burned edges, it was actually crispy. We decided to try them out once more, my man got the beef shawarma sandwich. I think they forgot to add salt and pepper-- no taste! I had to take off the beef from the sandwich so i can recook it and add my own seasonings for more flavor. I'm so disappointed. I'm done paying $10 dollars for a small sandwich with no flavor. We have no problem paying a high price for good quality food but for what we got at mr.kabab is not worth it. read more

Mr. Kabab is a new spot on Peterson av just west of Ravenswood. I Pass it everyday and decided to give it a try. The steak Shawarma looked good on the spit and opted for a steak shawarma sandwich. Cost $8.00, a bit pricey compared to other middle eastern restaurants in Chicagoland. Sandwich came with a little bit of onion, tomatoes and lettuce. Had some tahini sauce as well. Meat needed some seasoning as was very bland even though meat itself was tender. The pita bread itself was cold. It would have been nice to have it heated first as it enhances the flavors. Employees were all nice and friendly but they need make some minor adjustments to make this place better than just average. read more

I've been eating here almost everyday and one thing I loved was they followed Covid-19 protocols. Everyone is sanitizing, wearing gloves and a mask.
