Falafel wrap & Combo Shawarma Plate

Small shop in between rogers park & skokie with late hours for when you're having a later dinner. This spot has parking spots up front to either pick up food quick or dine it. It's sit yourself & food is brought out pretty quick! The picture was for 2 people. The food met our timing, our cravings, & showed us a new canned zero sugar soda drink (not pictured) from Saudis Arabia. Random but the one thing I remember was how fresh the olive oil tasted. I don't like eating plain olives but I love olive oil. It was the first time I could really taste the olives & remember the oils origins.

Solid Yemeni restaurant. The highlight is the mandi. The family size portions are enormous and they can easily feed five people. The restaurant isn't super fancy so dress casual and it's located in a super small strip. Great for carry out and friendly staff!

Lamb Chops plate (They were over cooked)

Came here based off Yelp reviews. Maybe they were having an off night. Seemed to be miscommunication in the kitchen and up front . Ordered a lentil soup and lamb chops dinner. Lentil soup came out like a porridge. Maybe this is how they serve it? There were chick peas in there too and they were undercooked and hard. The lamb chops were four and they were burned. Everyone knows you don't overcook lamb chops. When I returned it, the person in the kitchen who may have been the owner said that is how they prepare them. I asked for something else. My wife really wanted lamb, so they brought out a different lamb dish . That unfortunately lacked flavor, and was underwhelming . It was served with a mountain of rice. . I wanted it to be a good experience . It just wasn't

While not perfect, I think this was an excellent addition to downtown Evanston. I kind of wished there was more of an explanation of how to order. It looks like there is a plate, a sandwich, or a salad version. I guess it's kind of Chipotle style, but I was curious on what the sandwich would entail. I just went with the plate as it seemed like the most simple and if there was something I didn't like, I could just skip it. Here's what I had: Hummus: Excellent and a decent portion. I wish it came with a full pita instead of a half. Chickpea Salad: I hated the taste of it. I think it might have been me, but that was a miss for me Chicken with rice: Outstanding! The highlight of the plate. Cooked perfectly and served nice and hot. They offered to put on the hot sauce and I said "yes"! Whew, that's a spicy sauce! Loved it Add a $2 water and we are in business! The water was some kind of Icelandic brand which was a nice change from just Ice Mountain. As for price, everything cost me $15 which isn't bad for downtown Evanston. For the quality and portions I got, it worked! The only other downside is the place is a little small, but it's looking smaller with all the people in line right now. I really liked this place and o can see it going pretty well!

That man keeps that restaurant spotless. He works so hard, so fast, but does his work exquisitely. I hope owner can reward him in some way, that dude goes above and beyond. On top of that he is always pleasant, chatty and has a great relationship with many customers. 10/10 for brother Latif.

All I know is that when it comes to falafel, Pita Inn is where I'm headed. I've had a falafel addiction since I was a wee lad. It calls to me. The crisp shell. The moist and not-too-dense insides. Seasoning balanced on a knife's edge. I'm salivating. Falafel, calling my name. There are different approaches to falafel, I know, but Pita Inn lines it up exactly how I like it. Skokie has a plethora of Middle Eastern eateries, and while I have no idea why that is, I'm not mad at piles of falafel on every block. For awhile I was motivated to try other falafel spots. But why? What am I doing? Pita Inn cooks those golden spheres to perfection. And then on top of that, they bring in the accoutrements for backup. The hot sauce. The endless raw onions with sumac. Piles of pickled turnips. They just do it. Then, when I think it's over, they knock me out with a flawless lentil soup and a plant-based kabob made with charbroiled Impossible meat. I give up. Pita Inn, just keep my card on file. I'm not going anywhere else. Take my money. You win.

Every meal we've had here has been fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can truly taste the quality and tradition in every bite. The lamb shawarma is outstanding--perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with incredible flavor. The chicken shawarma is just as delicious, juicy, and cooked to perfection. But the true star of the menu is the lentil soup. It is hands down the best lentil soup I've ever had--rich, comforting, full of flavor, and worth coming back for on its own. It deserves to be the #1 item on the menu! What makes this place even more special is the amazing customer service. The entire staff is welcoming, friendly, and professional, making every visit feel like you're dining with family.
