Veg Lunch Special - A round metal tray contains various Indian cuisine items: naan bread, white rice, a bowl of curry, a bowl of spinach, a small salad with cucumber and lettuce, and two drinks—one dark soda with ice and a straw, and a white, creamy beverage. The tray is placed on a table with a brown placemat, and a wooden chair and patterned floor are visible in the background.

Fantastic food! It was so flavorful and hit the spot! I went in and got their vegetarian lunch special and it blew away my expectations. Would def come back. Service was speedy and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. 10/10!

Curry Kitchen is a solid choice if you're craving Indian food. The dishes were flavorful and fresh, though I personally felt they could have used a bit more spice to bring out more flavor. The portion sizes were great, and everything tasted like it was made fresh. The service, however, was on the slower side -- not a huge issue if you're not in a rush. Overall, it's a nice spot with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. I'd definitely go back and maybe try asking for the spice level to be kicked up a notch next time!

Pappadam and chutney appetizer with mango juice - The image shows a dining table with Indian food items including a large papadum on a black and white plate, a basket of additional papadum, and a blue dish with two chutneys, one red and one green. A tall glass of mango juice with a straw is also present. The table has a brown woven placemat, and chairs with green cushions are visible in the background. The setting appears to be indoors, with natural light illuminating the scene.

I've been here a couple times and the food is excellent. Hearty flavors, lovely big portions, great service, cute decor, reasonable prices, what's not to love? This is the best food I've had in Chicago so far, and it's going to become one of my regular stops.

Tried this place for the first time for lunch. The server welcome me with a nice smile. The restaurant was clean and the table was set very nicely with folded napkins. I ordered this lunch special with butter chicken. The lunch special comes with a curry dish of your choice rice naan, fresh salad in a drink. You can choose the spice level from mild to medium too hot. The food was just excellent and tasted authentic and fresh. The food was presented on a copper plate with copper small dishes and the color looked lovely. Defiantly try again.

Papad - A close-up image of Indian papad, a crispy flatbread, topped with chopped vegetables such as cabbage, carrots, and green onions, along with sauces and shredded vegetables. The dish is presented on a white plate, with some pieces of papad and toppings visible. The image highlights the texture and colorful toppings of the dish.

Amazing food, great ambience, and friendly staffs. I would highly recommend chicken momo, goat momo, and tandoori salmon.

2 Piece Samosa - Two golden-brown fried samosas are arranged on a dark blue ceramic plate, with a side of mixed vegetable salad consisting of shredded carrots, onions, and greens. The plate is set on a textured brown placemat, with a dark background visible behind the dish.

The chicken tiki masala was very tasty and the garlic naan bread was so so good.

I knew Gale Street Inn would see a grand and glorious renaissance one day. All it would take would…read morebe the brilliant inspiration of an owner who possessed a love for its rich history and a passion for giving this iconic restaurant the treatment and respect it so very much deserved. It is now time to celebrate, for owner/director Paulo Villabona has created an astonishing, newly-renovated dining experience at Gale Street Inn that pays homage to the exquisite supper clubs of the 40's, 50's and 60's where the likes of Frank Sinatra, Julie London and Sergio Mendez would transfix audiences through their rapturous melodies and golden voices while partaking in superb cuisine. Founded in 1963 in Jefferson Park, Gale Street Inn had seen quite a few owners over the years and had, sadly, closed for a time when it had lost its way and the spirit was gone. Thankfully, Mr. Villabona had a vision to restore the restaurant to its former illustrious self and remodeled it with the desire to have its customers transported to a more wonderful time when life was simpler and love of family, neighbors and friends felt deeper, stronger and truly heartfelt. Beautiful, elegant dark woods, gold fixtures and vintage murals bedeck the interior and set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. An actual small stage has been placed in back of the restaurant for live music that creates the perfect tone. Martini, anyone? When live entertainment isn't playing, expertly balanced sound system background music exemplifies this supper club theme to amazing effect. One can almost feel the Rat Pack presence. There is a beautifully designed bar area that is warm and inviting, and the bartenders are extremely courteous, friendly and consummate ambassadors for the restaurant --- as is the entire waitstaff. It's rare to find this perfect a waitstaff unless, perhaps, one has experienced the Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton Hotels. The crown jewel, however, is the cuisine itself. Chef de Cuisine Greg Manuel has worked his magic and created a menu to rival some of the finest traditional dining establishments out there while energizing classic fare with sumptuous, original and thoroughly enjoyable flavor components. The last time I was at Gale Street Inn was with a good friend of mine, and we shared their warm and wondrous Parker rolls as a starter which were ideal and received gratefully on the freezing evening we arrived. My guest dined on the blackened pork chop which was a marvel to behold. She always comments when restaurants serve chops that arrive dry and flavorless, but this beauty tonight was magnificent. Well-proportioned, tender, juicy and cooked to perfection, it was complimented with expertly prepared apple chutney, charred fennel and sweet potato puree. This one received highest honors from her. I was completely blown away by the mouth-watering, vodka-battered fish (cod) and chips that had such a distinctive resonance of flavor that I simply could not get enough of it. It came with coleslaw and homemade tartar sauce which were, by far, the best I ever ate. Another home run! Since my friend and I both have a brutal sweet tooth which we should be ashamed of but aren't, we finished everything up with their delicious key lime pie and creme brûlée --- both of which were five-star Oscar winners in their own right. Other champions on the menu include their ribs which are known to be the finest in Chicago, standout appetizers, hearty jambalaya, excellent prime steaks, terrific salads and the legendary Gale Street Burger. It is virtually impossible to not fall in love with everything on this menu. I know, it's a bold statement, but Gale Street Inn exceeds expectations on all levels. My deepest thanks to Mr. Villabona, Mr. Manuel and the entire staff for breathing new life into this diamond of a restaurant. The love is definitely there, and it shows!

We order salads, less than a minute after we ordered our entrees, but everything was served together, on a 2-top that wasn't big enough. A manager came by the table and asked how everything was. I expressed my displeasure at the table being exposed to the wait staff and he replied; "You should just be happy you got a table." The worst? The food. Thoroughly disappointing because it was served cold. I'm shocked by the reviews, since this was the single worst dining experience I've ever had.

Sometimes when you bookmark a restaurant your expectations are sky high and sometimes they don't live up to your own delusional expectations. This was not the case w/Pasta D'Arte Trattoria. We absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The restaurant itself has a very nice ambiance w/a wine rack at the entrance. The restaurant itself has exposed brick walls mixed w/wood panels that have a nice rustic feel. Very nice relaxing ambiance w/an awesome, helpful friendly staff. During our meal they played easy listening like Frank Sinatra tunes. Ahhh but the reason for coming the food. When we came in Carlos our server brought us 2 glasses of champagne for our anniversary, very nice. We had bread on the table w/olive oil & Parmesan cheese. We ordered some fried calamari as our appetizers w/a delicious red sauce sprinkled w/red pepper flakes for a little spice. My wife ordered the Sacchetti Al Porcini which was delicious w/porcini & ricotta stuffed pasta sacks served in a butternut/parmesan sauce w/sautéed mushrooms, leeks & butternut squash. Absolutely delicious!!! I ordered the Lasagna Bolognese Carlos & his partner (her name started w/an M?). I'm sorry I can't remember both provided excellent service & made the whole evening very enjoyable. Thanks to both of you & the staff @ Pasta D'Arte for an excellent evening.

Service was not great as we had to ask for the waitress twice to order and to get water and bread refills. Still the waitress knew the menu and specials well and was professional. We got complimentary water, warm bread, olive oil and grated parmesan cheese (probably from a food service as it sat on the table in a ramekin). We shared a glass of house Chianti and fried calamari. I got Tagliolini Neri Fra Diavola and she got Fettucine alla Panna. The wine tasted cheap, calamari was mediocre and the pastas were good, but far from excellent; better than Olive Garden but comparable to Romano's Macaroni Grill. For the prices it should have been much better. The dining room where we sat was clean and attractive but getting worn. The men's room about the same as the dining room. All in all it was a pleasant evening but not the quality experience that other reviews suggested. The restaurant is clearly resting on their reputation and needs a big refresh. For 1 glass of house wine, a shared appetizer and 2 pastas plus tax and tip we spent $140. It was worth about half of that.
