Well I only got the momos so I can only comment on that. The momos are good but a little expensive for what they are, roughly $18 for a plate of 10.

    70. Lamb Curry - The image shows a serving of lamb curry with a rich, thick sauce garnished with herbs, placed in a white rectangular dish. Below the curry, there is a portion of plain white rice. The presentation suggests a traditional Indian or Nepalese cuisine dish, with the curry occupying the top section and the rice in the bottom section of the container.

I ordered the Lamb Curry , Garlic naan, vegetable pakora and the spicy Momos! The lamb curry was really chewy and hard , really disappointed especially since this place is pretty pricey. The garlic naan was good and the service was very kind and attentive. I don't think I'd return but instead go to Himalaya Sherpa kitchen.

Demolished... - A table with multiple used dishes, bowls, and utensils, including empty bowls with remnants of sauce, a large plate with leftover food, and various utensils. There are glasses of water and wine, a coffee mug, and a small bowl with sauce. The setting suggests a restaurant after a meal, with some food and drink remnants visible.

Subpar service but amazing food. I can hear with a few friends and we all thought the food was amazing. We had a bunch of dishes family style with different flavors and most were amazing with maybe just 1-2 that were good. Would totally recommend coming if you want some banging Indian food. Just don't expect the service to be great since they were somewhat understaffed when we were here.

Bar, but no cocktails. Strange! - The image shows a restaurant bar area with multiple liquor bottles displayed on shelves behind the counter. The bottles include different brands and types of spirits, arranged in a row. In the foreground, there are tables set with upside-down wine glasses and plates, with black chairs surrounding them. The ceiling has recessed lighting, and a television screen is visible above the bar, displaying an image of a cityscape. The setting appears to be an indoor dining area.

Nice ambiance and server was friendly. Had the pappadam and chutneys. Just ok and only two chutney choices. Chicken tikka was hearty and flavorful. Very strange that they have a bar full of liquor bottles but do not have cocktails, nor did they have wine today. We selected the place as it had good reviews and we felt like a cocktail. Server said the bar is just set up for the owners. Bizarre. Think it is ok, but likely a lot of better options nearby.

Veggie Vegetable Steamed MoMo - The image shows a square white plate with ten steamed vegetable momos arranged around a small bowl of yellow dipping sauce. The momos are garnished with chopped herbs, and a spoon is placed in the sauce. The setting suggests a restaurant serving traditional Nepalese cuisine, specifically vegetarian momos with a dipping sauce.

This restaurant on Devon Street offers Nepalese cuisine. Went there for the first time and saw that the ambiance was pretty neat and clean. We found that the service was a bit slow. Additionally, the overall taste wasn't that great for the price that was charged (~$17 for an appetizer!). We ordered the Veggie momos appetizer - felt it was a bit bland. We had also ordered tea which was good. Note - we were able to use our check-in offer and got 20% off of the order total.

We mainly came to try out MoMos for the first time and they were incredible! We had the chicken steamed MoMos and despite being ground chicken, the meat was not dry at all. The filling was flavorful and the wrap wasn't too thick, which is hard to achieve. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the manager was so kind! The restaurant inside is cozy and clean. The bathroom is spacious and also very clean. The dining room has seats for small parties are larger ones (there was a party of 10 when I dined in). Overall, I'm looking forward to coming back!

Stopped by while at Devon street with my parents for lunch. Everything was delicious! We got the vegetable momo, chicken choila, malai kofta, navratan korma, and garlic naan. Service was very fast. Ambiance- quiet restaurant, only one other party there at lunch time on a Saturday. Vegetable momo- Steamed, we asked for it spicy. The vegetables were fresh and this was very flavorful. The sauce was delicious, will definitely return to try the steamed chicken momo. This is their specialty. Chicken Choila- another nepalese specialty. Very flavorful chicken, we asked for this spicy as well. The chicken isn't piping hot, more room temperature (we were warned beforehand by the waitress), but still a lot of flavor! Definitely recommend trying. Malai Kofta- another vegetarian dish, we asked for it spicy. Very creamy, very flavorful. Navratan Korma- Spicy, I did not try this but my mom said it was "excellent." Garlic Naan- Piping hot, fresh, delicious. Will definitely be trying their other location as well since it is much closer to my place.

    Fried chili veggie momos

My family and I came in after some shopping on Devon and we enjoyed our visit. The appetizers were by far the star of the show. We ordered the fried chili veggie momos, onion pakora, Masala papdi and veggie samosas. All of it was delicious, but the momos were my favorite! For dinner, we ordered malai kofta and channa masala. The channa masala was a different style than we're typically used to, so it wasn't our favorite, but definitely good to try. The service was great and our waiter was very attentive. Would definitely recommend trying Nepal House!

Lemonade - Two tall, clear glasses of water are positioned on a white tablecloth in a restaurant. One glass contains ice cubes, while the other is filled with plain water. The background shows part of a person wearing a blue shirt and a patterned booth seat. The setting appears to be a dining area with natural light reflecting off the glasses.

Is this a place for lunch buffet? how much does it cost?

No, they don't have a lunch buffet just their regular menu.

    Do they allow BYOB?

No. They have a full bar and the beer and wine was priced very reasonably.

I arrive within twenty-one minutes buying only a quarter's worth of time at the parking meter thinking surely that would be enough time to grab my carryout order? Guys, why was I waiting an additional twenty minutes for food when nobody was in this restaurant? I hate when a restaurant draaaaaaags without giving any reasons. Thali shops have literal fast food. Not in the American sense but the foods are as simple as crepes (dosa) served with chutney. The other items would need more time. Curries, biriyani, etc Ordered an onion dosa and a masala dosa. Texture was different from what I'm accustomed to eating. But I'm wanting something similar to South Indian style. The onion dosa contained what looked like a full, medium sized onion. In Southie style it should be pan fried till brown, sometimes incorporated into the dosa or stuffed inside, this was barely translucent. Didn't slap. The masala dosa was mid. Didn't touch much. Hate throwing away food but.. Not wasting the stomach on barely good. Something about the texture of the dosa wasn't... It just wasn't good. One and done. If a restaurant offers dosa, it's gotta be great. Maybe their other foods are better?

I heard they made great Chicken Biryani, but unfortunately they were out when I went. Something I don't think is talked enough about though is their chai - the best I've had in Chicago. It is difficult to find the exact words to tell you how much I love Ghareeb Nawaz…read more We live in a world where a burger and fries at a fast food joint costs somewhere around $10. Some focus on Instagram-ability instead of quality, and others dump a man versus food size portion in front of you in an effort to show "Hey! Look! vAlUe!!" while the quality is AWOL. Ghareeb Nawaz delivers across the board. The portions are massive, enough for three-ish lunches, even if you're perpetually as voracious as I am. The quality is excellent - meats are consistently tender, rice is cooked perfectly, and the spices bloom into the nose, the palate, and the heart. As for value, the $13 realistically comes out to less than $5 per, $3.25 if you aren't as gluttonous as myself. Not only that, cans of soda are $1.50, and the bank machine is also $1.50 (something I haven't seen even 10 years ago). When it comes to the service, it is imperfect, but efficient. There are no unnecessary pleasantries; it is a "hello, what do you want" sort of deal. If you didn't realize it was cash only? The order is placed, here is the receipt, the cash machine is over there. The small change I would offer is to have order numbers (which, I appreciate might be challenging with a cash-only establishment). When items leave the kitchen, the runner yelling out the order can bring up the question 'is this me?' Order numbers would be better. Service like this has to be earned, and I assure you Ghareeb Nawaz has earned it. Final verdict: For an establishment to have a rough-around-the-edges, surly nature and be successful, it has to earn it. I can think of no example more perfect than Ghareeb Nawaz. The quality is top-notch, the value is unmatched, and the nonsense is chucked out the window. Order - pay - devour with glee. What are you doing still reading, set your GPS already!
