Idk. I was excited about this place because fusion Indian food is something I miss frequently. The concept is good but the execution is just mid. The flavors weren't deep and complex like you expect with Indian food. The tikka sauce was very tomato-ey and not rounded at all. I thought the butter masala pizza was executed reasonably well but the sauce could have been better still. Service is okay - there is just one person at the counter so be careful if you're in a rush. Ambiance is fine - about what you expect with fast-casual.

First of all: the folks here are incredibly friendly! We had ordered an appetizer for pickup that was no longer available - we weren't at all upset by this (as we had ordered plenty of pizza), but they were still incredibly apologetic and actually gave us some free mango lassis (which were more expensive than the appetizer that we had ordered). In the past, friends have also mentioned them providing free samples as well! This place is also incredibly easy and fast to pick up from: your food will be ready pretty quickly so no need to wait. The food itself is also more than excellent: if you like Indian food and you like pizza, you'll love it. Most pizzas you have the option of regular crust or thin crust - I recommend getting thin crust here (regardless of your normal pizza preferences) because you get so much filling/toppings that the dough becomes a bit much. The menu is extensive so you'll find something you like - and all of the flavors are as advertised. So if you like paneer, for example, you'll like their paneer pizza. They aren't taking any shortcuts and you'll still get that excellent Indian flavor and seasoning - just in pizza form! Would highly recommend to anyone.

We tried: 1. Vada Pav sandwich 2. Tikka Momos, steamed and fried 3. Korean BBQ and Samosa Smash Pizzas 4. Butter Chicken and Palak (Saag) Curries I haven't had most of these traditional and modern dishes and overall, a great experience! Vada Pav was basically a fried potato sandwich which may not sound interesting idk but it was well seasoned and collapsed well with the soft brioche bun. Momos were properly cooked via both methods, flavorful, and juicy. The pizzas were an impressive combination of flavors and textures. Curries were solid; I loved the goat meat in the spinach based Palak curry. Service was good and decent amount of seating for small to medium groups.

LOVED my dinner at Moti this weekend. I ordered the chicken tikka pizza (hand-tossed crust, well done), masala fries, and tikka momos - everything was fresh and packed with amazing flavors/textures. Glad I chose the hand-tossed over the thin crust since the toppings are generous and really need that sturdy base. Service was excellent - the lady taking orders (who was also working nonstop bussing tables and running food) was warm, friendly, and patient with all my menu questions. I was hoping to try the Korean BBQ pizza but they were out of beef that night - hopefully they have it on my next visit because it sounds delicious. My only small critique is that the menu could use a little streamlining/cleanup. For example, the tikka and butter masala pizzas are almost identical, and the restaurant branding is a bit confusing with different names (Masala, Mazala, Moti) floating around. Even Yelp at the moment has two different pages ("Moti- Lincoln Park" and "Masala Pizza Company") for this spot. Regardless, the quality of the food and service were great - will definitely be back!

Last time I picked up from Moti, every seat was full and there was a line to pick up takeout orders! I am so happy for them. They deserve it. Everything from my original review stands. Great pizzas and the combo meal platter is so great. The burritos are such a fun idea but have a little too much rice to chicken ratio for me. GET THE VADA PAV. Idk what it is about a giant potato between two buns, but it's just so so excellent.

Ordering was fairly easy and trouble-free. We ordered the following: Butter Masala Bowl, Samosa Chaat and chickpeas and a Korean BBQ pizza. The Samosa Chaat was a winner for me. I love the concept of eating samosas smashed up with the sauces. I also got an order of Chana Masala (chickpeas in a spiced, tomato-onion based sauce). It was terrific on top of the Samosa Chaat. The Butter Masala Bowl was really delish because I was able to get it with lamb instead of chicken and extra cilantro lime sauce. The Korean BBQ pizza was different but in a good way. I love idea of bulgogi on a pizza. When I had this at the Yelp event, it was on a thin crust, but I have to say the hand toss dough is better and gives you something to hold on to. The Honey Gochujang Sauce is good, but on the spicy side. The box that the pizza came in was so cute and adorable. Not sure if the intent is really to wear it, but it was fun. Overall the food was good, the delivery was fast and the food was hot. I would definitely order from here again as it is quick, hot and tasty.

We went out to Sandbox VR with some friends the other week and decided to grab a bite afterwards. Since this place was right up the street we decided to stop in. It was late whenever we arrived, but the staff were still super welcoming and friendly. There was a good amount of seating and it was super clean. The menu was pretty extensive. I ordered an elite personal pizza and it was outstanding. They cook their personal pizzas on naan and I had no clue that was something that I needed in my life. One of our friend ordered the chicken tikka masala pizza and it was really good. If you're looking for a quick bite in the DePaul area, definitely check this place out. The flavors are super unique and delicious. I've been told I also need to try their desserts next time.

The service was really fast but didn't taste like it had been pre-prepared. I got the Masala Elote on a flat bread, and it was delicious. The flat bread was crunchy, the size was perfect for one sitting without feeling too full afterwards. They didn't skimp on sauce or toppings. There was barely enough room on the edge to grab the pizza, which is exactly the way it should be! It's a fast food joint so there aren't many places to sit inside so better for taking to go. You order at a kiosk so no need to talk to anyone either

Amazing variety and spread of Indian fusion food here! All our familiar bites with fresh Indian twists on them - all super delicious! Some favorites were the samosa chaat, chicken tikka pizza, and the chicken tacos! They also have a huge selection of different ice cream bars with both traditional and more creative flavors - perfect way to end the meal! The owner is incredible - absolutely heartwarming to see someone so passionate and excited about his business! The staff were also phenomenal, so kind and accommodating!

Love the concept of Indian flavors on a pizza! Thoroughly enjoyed this casual spot in Lincoln park as we decided to stop in for a quick bite. Always looking for more interesting food concept places in the city!

The lighting throughout the restaurant was warm and elegant, and both the interior and exterior created a very inviting atmosphere. From an ambiance standpoint, Basant definitely delivered. Service -- 5/5 The service was also excellent. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. They checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Everyone we interacted with made us feel comfortable and well taken care of, and I have nothing negative to say about the hospitality. Food -- 2/5 Unfortunately, the food is where the experience fell short for me. I frequent Indian restaurants and one of the things I love most about Indian cuisine is the incredible depth and layering of flavors. Here, I just didn't experience that. The Gobi Manchurian was especially surprising. I'm accustomed to recognizable cauliflower florets, but these were minced and formed into almost meatball-like pieces. The sauce provided plenty of heat, but to me it was mostly spice without the complexity of flavor I was expecting. I was also surprised not to see a tikka masala option. I ordered a tomato-based soup and even tried adding rice to give it a little more substance, but it still lacked the depth of flavor I've experienced at other Indian restaurants. Ironically, the highlight of the meal for me was the garlic naan it was delicious. Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, but for an Indian restaurant, the food ultimately has to be the star, and unfortunately that was the weakest part of my experience. 3/5 overall.

The better dishes (Seekh Kabob, Dal Makhani, Raagi Kunji, Mawa Cake, the naan) were solid. But if freshness is that inconsistent with the fish, what else are they cutting corners on? Here's the thing though: a restaurant doing North Indian, South Indian, street food, regional specialties all on one menu is usually a red flag. You can't do all of India well. That's like saying you mastered your grandmother's recipes from five different states. Seems like they're trying to be everything, and the fish tonight proved they're not. Even Masala can't save bad fish. And trust me, if something can't be saved by spice, it's really bad. Disappointed. Really thought this would be better.
