Quick and friendly service. Plenty of available seating and nearby benches to sit and eat outside. The Ruben was delicious and you can't go wrong with a caramel latte -- I'll be excited to see this place expand their menu as they grow :)

The Serai Burger is hands down one of the best burgers I've had in Chicago. The beef patty is juicy, the American cheese melts perfectly, and those Serai sauces pull everything together. The special bun holds it all without falling apart. Absolute perfection.

Decided to have a team dinner here after an event and we were all blown away by the quality and flavor of Serai cafe & Deli. Not only was the entire staff kind and hospitable they were incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu and were able to quickly answer any questions/ offer advice to fit our needs. The space was cute and cozy - perfect for us to recap after a busy event day and recharge our social Battery. As a team we could tell that the menu and ingredients were very intentional! It was so great to hear how all buns/ breads are locally sourced from a bakery. Produce was intentionally selected, and Meats were halal. Cant wait to revisit!

Have tried almost everything on their menu by now, and their food is delicious! A huge plus is that it's zabiha halal! The employees and the owner are super friendly and ensure that you have a great experience. The restaurant is extremely cozy and has a modern look to it!

I met the owner and he was awesome. I ate a Reuben and it was delicious. I used the WiFi and it was so speedy.

Once Chloe took over, we were shocked when we found out she'd only started TWO DAYS earlier. She was AMAZING. Knowledgeable, confident, attentive and genuinely fun. Huge shoutout to both Chloe and Girl & the Goat's training program, because if that's what two days in looks like, they're doing something very right. We shared the green beans, goat empanadas, pork shank and chicken dish, and loved everything. We told Chloe we'd be back for dessert -- and we actually kept our promise! Unfortunately she wasn't working when we returned, but Jake took great care of us and was amazing too. We came specifically for When Life Gives You Blueberries and the Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash, and both were superb.

Girl & The Goat has been on my Chicago food radar for a while, and sometimes the places with the…read morebiggest hype have the hardest time living up to it. This one did. The whole experience is built around sharing, which gave us an excuse to order like we hadn't eaten in three days. And there really wasn't a weak plate on the table. The goat belly was the WOW bite for me. Rich, tender, full of flavor and exactly the kind of dish you come here hoping to find -- something different that you'll actually remember the next day. Then came the grilled short rib. Beautiful char, incredibly tender, sweet and savory working together... this was the plate where the table got noticeably quieter for a minute. Always a good sign. And don't sleep on the chickpea fritters. I wasn't expecting them to compete with goat belly and short rib for attention, but they absolutely held their own. Crispy, flavorful and another example of how Girl & The Goat takes something relatively simple and makes it interesting. We tried several other dishes, passed plates around, argued over who got the last bite and basically did dinner exactly the way this place is meant to be experienced. Great atmosphere, creative food, strong service and enough unexpected flavors to keep the meal fun from beginning to end. Girl & The Goat was worth the splurge

Mezza [Combo platter including Baba Ghanoush, Hummus, Ta'ameya(falafel), Tabboula(salad): Our favorite was the Banana Ghanoush, as it was one of the most flavorful baba ghanoush I have had and contained a very good char. The hummus was a little more on the sour side, and the texture of the salad was refreshing. The bread was also made fresh and was refillable as well, which we appreciated. My friend liked the falafel, but I think it was a little too dry, and I wish they could increase the intensity of the spices to make it pop out more. The chili sauce helped a lot though. Cairo Platter (Kofta, Chicken, Beef): The Kofta is my favorite-seasoned, soft and tender. Out of the two times I got this, the chicken and the beef were not as moist/juicy-they were okay. Overall I wish they gave us more Kofta though, since there wasn't much of it, and the platter was on the pricier side. Shawarma Plate: The shawarma was tasty and the portions were good. I personally liked adding the chili sauce on top. Macorrona Bechamel: Our favorite dish. It tasted like Mac and cheese but the flavors are even more nuanced and complex. Very delicious and honestly we wished we ordered one per person . Overall I really like the restaurant, and I think some of the dishes were really well made, you just need to find them :). I hope the quality is more consistent as we will visit again.

Baklava was crunchy, sweet, and rich. I'll continue to bring people here. It's always clean and staff are super kind and accommodating.

The staff is super friendly, and the service was quick, which is always a plus. The beef birria tacos were stacked and loaded with cheese and perfectly crispy. We also grabbed the El Michelin ribeye tacos, along with some rice, beans, and an horchata to wash it down. That horchata was on point ,not too sweet, just perfect. They've got a few protein options, so I'm definitely coming back to try more. Can't wait for my next visit!

It wasn't really heavy on cumin or onions and garlic, but still delicious. Now the star for me was the strawberry Horchata very creamy delicious not overly sweet. Soooo goood! You get two different sauces. The green one has some spice! Now they offer steak tacos with avocado which are good (they have another name for them but I forgot)! They prefer cash, however they do accept credit/debit you use pay a little more. Great eats and plain and strawberry horchata! A cute clean small place!!! They are always busy so you will wait at least a good 15 mins to get your food...

At noon, they unlocked the door, no hello or greeting - just straight behind the counter and to the kitchen for us to order at the screen in the front. The screen was filthy (they just opened as a reminder) we couldn't tell what was in the 'combo' and then when we were going to order the boneless chicken wings, as they were gluten free when we ordered them years ago, I asked one of the women in the kitchen to confirm. She said no, I don't think so. And walked away without any further guidance for what I might be able to eat on their menu. It's not a preference, it's a dietary restriction - so we walked out from there. They clearly had no interest in helping me or our business. A real disappointment after driving 30 minutes out of our way to try and enjoy it.
