    The Frank Sandwich

Got the Frank. Sandwich was amazing. It's warm, meat is excellent. Overall very good sandwich. Recommend the trip.

Did not realized how famous this shop was until after we went there and had a few amazing sandwiches. We were in the area and got hungry for lunch. We did pizza already and also did not want anything fancy. And since we were in Little Italy, Italian sandwiches are a must! Great reviews on Yelp so we had to stop it. Upon walking in, some seating outside, seatings on the right and then you encountered a small supermarket items in a few aisles and then all the gorgeous to the left, the deli freshly made sandwich counter / open kitchen. You order what you want. Suggest you stand back and review and know your order before getting in line. These gentlemen want to get you ordered, make your sandwiches and want you to enjoy it. Very no nonsense process. We got 2 sandwiches and enjoyed it very much! Both large and shared it between the 3 of us. Freshly made when you order. Fast service.

Stopped in for a quick lunch sandwich. Chill vibes inside, just like an old school deli shop. Fortunate to not have a busy line and ordered the prosciutto sub with the works. They have fridges set up in the back with cheeses and drinks to grab along with fresh made food in a couple fridge units. The sub was so fresh. Great bread and even better giardiniera. Has some kick to it but not potent. Def stop in for a quick bite they have a decent amount of tables available.

We had the Italian sandwich and it was a nice mix of meat and lettuce, tomato and onion and oil and vinegar and pickled peppers and mustard and mayo. The service was very quick and it's a down to earth Italian, grocery and deli. It's in the heart of Little Italy.

    12 inch Italian Sub Sub

Finally made it down to Little Italy this weekend to check out Conte Di Savoia as part of my quest to try all of Chicago's best Italian delis and it did not disappoint! This place is huge, with plenty of seating and shelves stocked with classic Italian groceries: meats, cheeses, pasta, and more. The ordering process is simple and exactly what you'd expect from an old-school deli. Even on a Saturday afternoon, they cranked out sandwiches fast, and the staff was super friendly. One of the biggest standouts? The price. For just $10, you get a massive 12-inch Italian sub. I only ate half, it was basically two sandwiches for the price of one. That kind of deal is rare in Chicago. The sandwich itself was delicious. Perfect ratio of meats, cheese, toppings, and a solid drizzle of oil and vinegar. I forgot to ask for mayo (which I usually love on an Italian sub), and honestly, it was still fantastic. Just a heads-up: they keep it classic with lettuce, tomato, and oil/vinegar unless you ask for extras so speak up if you want something specific. Overall, Conte Di Savoia is a gem. Great vibe, unbeatable value, and a damn good sandwich. If you're in Little Italy, this spot is a must.

So efficient, so delicious! And great price! Highly recommend this spot for lunch especially if you work or are a student nearby. It's an Italian grocery store and deli and serves up delicious cold and hot sandwiches! I recently got a grilled turkey panini with giardiniere and it was *chef's kiss*. Fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted bread, and great flavor. It's also nice they have several tables to sit and enjoy your meal.

This place is my favorite place for sandwiches. The Frank sandwich is the best. Wanted to try a panini but still ended up with my fav Frank sandwich. Beware if you use credit card for payment, there is a service fee on credit card.

Charming old world Italian deli and grocery. Subs are great - some places serve subs that overwhelm the taste of the sub with a lot of bread. At Conte do Savoia, the bread to meat ratio is perfect. The sandwiches come in 6, 8 and 12 inch sizes.Giardeneira is hot and spicy. Very popular lunch spot, but they had five guys working on the orders, so the line moved fast. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating.

A little updated review here. Price has gone up, which is understandable. However, now my usual Italian sandwich is quite different. Now sure if they trained their employees differently now or what, but they put mayo mustard in it and they ask me if I want hot peppers. I got asked if I want everything on it and I said yes, but this is not what I used to get... it tasted like a sub from Subway... umm. Not sure what to do with my life now...

I had high hopes for this place. It's an authentic Italian deli with a market that has all your classic favorites including pasta, cookies and more. I ordered a turkey sandwich. They forgot all of the condiments I asked for including the giardiniera (extra cost) which was super disappointing. The bread was probably the best part of the sandwich. It was nice and soft. The pasta salad was entirely too oily for me. Also, the San Pellegrinos we bought were both flat. All and all, not a win today.

Great sub sandwich spot that will make you a delicious sandwich within minutes. Their menu is straight forward and the service is extremely quick! I loved my Italian sub, it was a perfect amount of deli meat and. They don't lather the sandwich with so much mayo or oil. The prices are pretty reasonable as well and you can get other grocery items on the go. I can't wait to go back to try their desserts!

I was in the area and looked into a little help from Yelp to suggest a good place for a quick lunch. An authentic deli and sandwich shop? Count me in, as I have fond memories growing up with Freddy's in Cicero. Surprisingly, they had at least five vegetarian sandwiches to choose from. It was rather difficult to decide, but I ultimately went with their Natalia. I ordered it online so that I had time to walk over. The storefront and interior seating was cute and homey. I received my sandwich and was excited to dig in. I loved the old school deli wrapping! But when I unrolled it I was a bit disappointed in the size of the bread. The fillings seemed adequate, but homemade pesto was advertised as being in it and my sandwich contained none. I also paid 0.50 extra for hot Giardiniera and I was lucky if I counted ten pieces. My total with tax was $9.46. this was not cheap for what I received. The premise of the sandwich sounded good, though. Roasted red peppers, grilled eggplant, homemade mozzarella, and pesto are a great combo. I then went up to the counter and informed them they forgot the pesto. They responded by saying they ran out, but would jarred work? I'm unsure why they didn't offer a homemade container of it from the back of the store. At any rate, I said fine. I think people underestimate the needs of vegetarians. Fill that darn sandwich with the promised ingredients as well as extra lettuce! Yet, I also appreciated the vibe and old school feel.

Good food! Love the staff! Always happy to great customers and are accommodating! Their fresh olives and cheese is the best! Definitely my go-to salad/sandwich place.

Up until tonight, my experiences had always been positive and the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, this visit was more than disappointing. I ordered a salad I've had at least a dozen times before, accept I added grilled chicken on top. I live for this salad and was just there maybe three weeks ago. Unaware that they have changed their menu, I ordered as usual. The name of the salad has not changed on the menu, but apparently the ingredients had been completely altered. When the dish arrived, to my surprise, it was drastically different and not something I enjoyed at all. I politely informed our server, who was kind and accommodating, and offered to replace the dish. However, it was now 6 p.m. we had tickets to see The Wiz at 7 p.m. and didn't have time to wait for another order, which I also informed her. I asked if the salad could be removed from the bill since it was essentially untouched. The server checked with the owner, who refused to remove the $30 salad or offer any kind of discount. When a restaurant changes a dish but keeps the same name, it creates a reasonable expectation for returning customers. When that expectation isn't met, basic customer service should step in. What makes this even more frustrating is that the restaurant was willing to prepare an entirely new dish, but not willing to remove the uneaten one from the bill. That simply isn't logical. If you're prepared to replace an item, it clearly acknowledges there was an issue, so refusing to comp or adjust the original charge is unreasonable. That decision was extremely disappointing. I, in-turn made the decision to eat only the additional grilled chicken on top, leaving the rest of the salad, paying the full bill and promptly getting out of there so we could be on time for our show. The only positive part of the experience was our server, who handled the situation with professionalism and kindness. Sadly, the new menu leaves much to be desired and this experience has cost Peanut Park my business and my referrals going forward.

Reservations are released 21 days ahead of time, which I personally find impossible to make. Every time I've checked over the last several years there have been no availability. Yesterday I decided to pop on their website again and was delighted to find that they had released same day dinner reservations for patio only dining. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes. And of course I had to get the gelato, which was so aesthetically presented and the taste just reminded me of an Italian summer vacation.

The calamari was delicious, not too fried and oily but still had so much flavor to it. We also decided to order the peperoni pizza, which is just a magnificent pizza. It was just cooked perfectly with just the right amount of flavor and spice. I ordered the raviolacci toscani, which took a bit of time to come out (but understandable given the amount of people). It was just delicious. The meat filling had such a deep flavor and the sauce wasn't so heavy that I didn't want to finish it. Alla Vita: A Masterclass in West Loop Elegance…read more If you are looking for a spot that perfectly balances "industrial chic" with "grandma's Sunday kitchen," **Alla Vita** is hitting all the right notes. Located at 564 W Randolph, it's a sprawling, airy space that manages to feel intimate despite its scale. Here is the breakdown of the heavy hitters from the menu: **The Truffle Mushroom Pizza** This isn't your standard wood-fired pie. The crust strikes that elusive balance between a pillowy interior and a crisp, charred exterior. The earthiness of the mushrooms is front and center, but it's the truffle that ties it together without being overpowering. It's rich, aromatic, and deeply savory--the kind of pizza that makes you forget about pepperoni entirely. **The Ricotta Dumplings** These are, quite frankly, little clouds of heaven. While many places struggle with leaden gnocchi, Alla Vita's ricotta dumplings are impossibly light. They have a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth texture that acts as a perfect canvas for the sauce. Every bite feels indulgent yet airy; it is easily the "must-order" dish of the night. **The Tiramisu** To close out the meal, the Tiramisu is a sophisticated take on the classic. It isn't overly sweetened, allowing the bold espresso and creamy mascarpone to shine. It's structured but soft, providing a caffeinated, velvety finale that cleanses the palate without weighing you down. **The Verdict:** Alla Vita is more than just a "pretty" restaurant. The service is snappy, the atmosphere is electric, and the food--specifically the pasta program--is top-tier. Whether you're there for a celebratory dinner or a high-energy weeknight meal, it's a West Loop essential. **Pro Tip:** The restaurant fills up fast, so snag a reservation well in advance, especially if you're eyeing a weekend table.
