My Nepal House dining experience exceeded my expectations! Quite a few diners on a Monday night, but was still able to secure a table for two. This is a great spot for anyone with dietary restrictions, as their menu accommodates vegans and vegetarians. There were so many options to choose from. We tried the Vindaloo Chicken, Lamb Curry, and Garlic Naan. Spice levels were all conservative and I'm glad we went with that choice. Great flavor and tenderness on the meats, with outstanding sauces to compliment. Thankful we got the garlic naan because it really completed the meal. I'd go here for a casual date or a bite with a small group of friends. We were seated right by the door so it was distracting at times with the deliveries going in and out constantly, but that's show biz. Nice service. Came here without a reservation the other day around 7:30pm and they seated us promptly. Service was also pretty quick. The interior is clean and well-decorated with cultural music playing. Man! First time trying Nepalese food and it hit the spot... to the point I wanted to take a nap afterwards. While at work, my coworker ordered from Nepal House and I'm so glad he did. This was a top tier meal and I didn't feel like blubber afterwards, it was great. Experience food and culture I've never experienced is one of my favorite things, to add the cherry on top is when the experience is delicious! This was also my first time trying Mango Lassi... I can't wait to show my family and friends haha I'm hooked. Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. The place was absolutely empty, but did have a couple take out orders being picked up. Service was good, but could have been a little friendlier. The ambiance is set up nicely too and if it had a few more people there it would've felt nicer. We offered a salad to start. The salad itself was fresh but was served with yogurt and chutneys, no actual dressing which we thought was odd because the menu mentioned house made dressing. If it was just going to be yogurt, it should've been noted as such. The tandoori roti was nice, naan was tasty but a bit thick and doughy. The chole and kadhi chicken were both extremely delicious. Really good spot. I've never had Nepalese food before and really enjoyed trying it. I had the chicken choila and chicken mo mos which the waiter said were two Nepalese favorites. Both were fantastic. STUNNINGLY BAD food! Not sure how this place is in business... but if they keep making food like we experienced tonight I'm sure they won't last long. I think their business depends on folks who don't know what Indian/Nepalesee food should taste like! We got Saag and Dal Makhani, Naan and pakoras. The Saag was stunningly bad - tasted like boiled frozen spinach with pieces of undercooked potatoes. The Dal (lentils) were also extremely UNDERCOOKED, lacking proper seasoning or spices with way too much cream (it was like eating cream with raw lentils in it). ABSOLUTELY TASTELESS AND UNDERCOOKED FOOD. Had to throw it straight into the bin, and I HATE food waste. The Naan and pakoras while not great, were at least edible. We did call the restaurant but got no resolution, almost like they didn't really care to understand what I was telling them. Terrible food and very disappointing customer service. Well, surprise! Here it is for the THIRD TIME. I am convinced this restaurant, Nepal House, is somehow removing any negative reviews of their establishment. How I don't know. But be forewarned, folks! If you are watching your spending, you will want to avoid this place. Their prices are very high for food you could get at most other Indian restaurants for less $$$. I had a taste for Indian food one night and being that I'm handicapped in a wheelchair, I placed an order online. I did not pay much attention to their prices (I was very hungry) but rather went with the food I especially like. BIG MISTAKE. I ended up spending $80 for what should have been half or 3/4 that much. Basically what I got was okay, nothing to write home about, pretty much what I could expect from other Indian restaurants, but quite a bit more expensive. For instance, an order of pappadum was $5 for 4 pcs. For that money I could buy a package of 10 at any grocery store in Little India for under $3. They charge $5 for naan whereas Ghareeb Nawaz down the street charges $1 -- and you get a gigantic homemade naan made in their tandoori oven. For $1!!! I was very surprised to see dishes that I would consider side orders costing the same price as an entree -- $17.95 for Aloo Gobi -- no meat, just cauliflower and potatoes. $16.95 for Palak Paneer -- creamed spinach with a few blocks of Indian cheese. To me that's like charging $17.95 for an order of mashed potatoes with gravy and a bit of sage stuffing thrown in. Ridiculous. They do have a Nepalese item I would definitely recommend -- something called Mo-Mo, which are little crimped dumplings either fried or steamed. They are a bit pricey at $16.95-$17.95 & you only get 8. They are small, about the size of a Kennedy half dollar -- If you're super hungry you'd probably want a double order -- but you'll end up paying $34 for them. If you've got that kind of money, go for it. Myself, that is way out of my league. The amount they give you is not a whole lot. I thought for $80 I'd have a few days of leftovers. I didn't. I had some for the next day but not much. Never again will I order food when I'm starving! Very dangerous! read more

Quiet little place. We went early and there was a steady stream of diners. Service was good - friendly and helpful. The samosas (pea and potato) were delicious. I had a goat dish that was good. I ordered 7/10 for spice and it could have been spicier. Hubby had saag lamb. I normally hate saag but this was really good. Also very mildly spiced. The naan was so, so good. I am a slow eater but never felt rushed and enjoyed this place a lot. One warning: servings are quite large. We were staying in a hotel nearby so couldn't take leftovers.
