I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! They advertise DOSA POINT NEVER DISAPPOINTS - i was very much disappointed with this place I would not recommend this place to anyone. Worst experience ever. We (5 of us) drove 50 mins to go to this place for Fathers Day dinner and we were excited try dosas at this place. First of all, place is not organized well. We had to wait for 15 mins in line to place the order. And when our turn came - half of the items were not available from the menu. THAT WAS FIRST DISAPPOINTMENT. Secondly, some of the items were super expensive on the menu. Thirdly, this is not the kind of place where you would get your own table. If there is space on your table for 1 or 2 people to site, they will seat another party accordingly on your same table. Fourthly, it took very long for our first item to come in which was Gobhi Manchurian. After very long wait, when we tried it, it was not tasty at all. seemed like someone non experienced made it. After few minutes we got Paneer Tikka which also below satisfaction. AFTERRRRRRRRRRRR LONG WAIT - we got 2 masala dosa out of 4. The after another 15 mins we got another 1 and then apporx after 5-6 mins we got 4th. The first 2 people whose started the dosa first finished thieir food by the time 4th dosa came in. AND GUESS WHAT - THEY ALL WERE SAME KIND OF DOSA - BASIC - MASALA DOSA. We are still waiting for the food for the 5th person - which is not even coming even after 4 of us finished eating our food. We went to the counter, they didn't even feel sorry but said we will check and no response after that. we waited again and then the Hakka Noodles - which were their that days sepcial. Finally it came. Quality and Taste - the taste of the food was a SHAME to south Indian Food. Worst south indian food even. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ANYONE!!!

There is a new place in Chicago for delicious vegetarian food and it is here to stay. Checked out Dosa Point for the first time and loved it. New spot with amazing menu, delicious food and friendly service. The owners are so welcoming and are making it a point to connect with the customers. Such a fun and relaxed ambience . Check out Dosa Point today for delicious Dosa , Pav Bhaji , Mini Pancakes, Adeni Chai, Bubble Tea, and more. Their menu is 100% vegetarian and the food is freshly prepared and tastes amazing. The place is busy so be prepared to wait but it's totally worth it. We had Plain Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Pav Bhaji, Kasta Kachori, Idli Sambar, Nutella Mini Pancake, and Taro Coconut Milk Tea. Each of the dishes and drinks were a 10/10! I will definitely be going back to try other things on their menu.

Hopping new place featuring dosas and other Indian food. It's one of the newly opened restaurants on Dempster in Morton Grove. Dosa Point is on point as far as dosas. It also has lots of fruit teas to choose from, and these are as good as the eating. The problem is it's kind of unorganized which is expected, and ordering can be confusing at times. Came in here at lunch. It still had the Grand Opening sign above the entrance, so it was still a pretty newly opened place. The inside was like absolute chaos, with there being way too many people and not enough seats and tables. Liked crammed inside. Probable fire safety violations. Has lots of fruit or milk teas to choose from. It's about $5 for a large fruit tea. Tons of flavors, but the list of these on the wall was hard to read because the sign also listed all the flavors of the milk teas and smoothies, and these all kind of blended together. I got the green apple. Of course we got dosas. That's in the name of the place. It's about $12 for a dosa. The Masala Dosa is like the main one of these. It has potato filling. This came with lots of dipping sauces including sambar. Also coconut and tomato chutneys. The dosas were massive and we barely finished. Good place for trying dosas. It has quite a lot as well as tons of other favorites including teas and pani puri. There's lots to get for vegans and vegetarians.

We just flew into town after a weekend getaway and my mom was craving Dosa so we ended up here . It's in a strip mall with 2 other businesses as we entered I could smell the musky air ( a/c off )not very welcoming. We ordered a whole bunch of stuff variety of dosas paneer, onion and ghee dosas , Idli was inspired, pooriand aloo curry, pav bhaji , milk shake , boba and ginger chai. The food was mediocre, the chutneys were not fresh. The staff are polite and the ownership seems nice . They really need to up their quality to bring in loyal customers.

So excited to see another restaurant serving dosas opened up nearby. The food was delicious! Never had Pani Puri before and tried it here for the first time, it was pretty decent. The masala dosa was so good I ordered it twice. The dosa was thinking, crispy and buttery at the ends, the masala filling was a flavorful potato mixture. We had a teapot that was very flavorful and slightly sweet and was tasty. Would love to come back and try some of their other dishes! We had to Google some of them as I'm not the most familiar with Indian cuisine. There's a decent amount of parking in the little plaza it's located. It seemed to get pretty busy on a weekday lunch time and the parking was packed, I can't imagine how busy it gets on the weekends. We were one of the first people to show up for a Wed lunch, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! They didn't have all their dishes available at lunch though, some of their dishes are only available at dinner. The decor is super cute and Instagrammable too!

Today, I was driving home and noticed that Dosa Point was open, and I had to try out a new Indian restaurant near my house, and I'm SO glad I tried it out. This place is fantastic and delicious! The service is also phenomenal, and the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing! I ordered a Bombay sandwich, which was super tasty and a pretty big sandwich. I also ordered the Pani Puri, one of the best pani I've ever had at a restaurant - it reminded me of street food Pani Puri from India! They also have many dessert options, including mini pancakes and bubble tea. I was too full today to try it, but I'll definitely return to get some. I'll be back to try more of the food and desserts! So glad I have an Indian restaurant nearby that has excellent service and even better food!

We're so glad Dosa point has opened up in the neighborhood. We used to go all the way to the Lemont temple to get some good Dosa which is a trek and a half... This is just as good if not better. We ordered masala and plain dosas that were accompanied with tomato and coconut chutneys as well as sombar soup. The dosa was so delicious with the chutneys. We also ordered chole puri which was so tasty. Lastly, we had batture chole...which were like chick peas and puri. We ordered and received our food within 15 minutes. Most people said that the food takes long to receive after ordering. This was totally not our experience. There was also ample seating, up to maybe 50 ppl at any given time. We arrived around 6pm and was a perfect time to arrive. We were a party of 6 and there were 2 tables open. Definitely returning

This is my second time at Dosa Point, and as a Malayali American, I'm genuinely thrilled to see South Indian restaurants like this gaining ground. It's exciting to experience such authentic, flavorful food that reminds me of home. The dishes are consistently well-made, the flavors are bold and satisfying, and the customer service has been warm and attentive both times. Really grateful to have a place like this nearby--it's just really good.

These are the places I honestly love doing reviews for. Let's start off with some negatives and it's honestly nothing major. The negatives are the location it's in. It's in a nice suburb but where the resturant is located is in a small shopping complex on a relatively busy road. Again nothing major at least to me. The table we were at was also a plastic table you typically see at a cookout probably due to the size of our group, but the rest were nice wooden tables. Overall the inside I would say is pretty nice and super clean! Now the good. I went in with my wife and my parents-in-laws after coming back from the city . After we parked, we walked in and waited to be seated. Didn't have to wait long at all. We went in on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 and ordered a couple different things. We ordered one of the Thalis, an onion masala dosa, and 2 chole puri orders. We all enjoyed our food. The puri orders were amazing, my wife and I absolutely loved them. We also ordered from their drinks menu as they also do Boba. My wife and I ordered 2 different refreshers, and we loved those. I honestly was so surprised how good it was for a Desi spot. All around the food and drinks were fantastic. Now the thing I want to highlight is our waitress who was there on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 around 4 to 5 pm. She was so nice and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. I didn't catch her name but people like that is what to me can honestly make or break an experience. Super clean, too me looked cute inside, awesome food and boba. Phenomenal waitress. We will definitely be back. 5 all day!!!!

My first experience with South Indian food was lovely! The dosas were crisp and tasty. The sambar had the perfect amount of heat. The chutneys really complemented the dosas. Excellent Pani Puri and Dahi Puri. Staff was friendly. Bathroom was clean. Only drawback was the disposable tableware. Will be back!

Name days Dosa Point- worst Dosa ever Their slogan says "Dosa point never disappoints " but we party of five- all of us were extremely disappointed with service and food. Do not recommend this place. There are better places than this. Family run business, cant say much about hygiene in kitchen because a lady was chewing food and walking around and talking to people with food in her mouth, taking orders, making mini pancakes while chewing food. She was so in and out of kitchen. The place was very busy and very loud. But they cannot handle the crowd. There was 30 min wait to get food. But we didnt get food until 50min Most of the items on the menu were not available. We ordered cauliflower manchurian and todays special- paneer 65- worst kind of appetizer ever tasted. Sautéed in tomato sauce and they taste exactly the same. Masal dosa- one star dosa- expectations were high as it is a dosa point. Hakka noddles were todays special and they took 50min to cook it. All they did was boiled the noodles- and added few pieces of bell peppers and spring onions. Noodles were undercooked and definitely anyone can make better noodles by watching youtube videos lr reading instructions. We were not getting order and after 50min, waiting for food. We asked the lady about the status of our food. She said that she will look into it and immediately sat down on the chair behind the counter with her cup of chai. Without looking into it or taking action. Then we had to cancel some part of order because of her behavior and they were not sorry for anything.

So this place recently opened. About a week ago. My wife and I were hungry and in the area. We decided to make a quick U turn on Dempster St. to give Dosa Point a shot. The place looks nice inside with some cool interior creativity. Appears to be a place for the young crowd to enjoy boba tea, smoothies and other treats. However, we where there for Dosa. We ordered. Bombay sandwich, cheese masala dosa and masala dosa. Let me tell you, neither dish was a disappointment. Sambhar and chutney with the dosas which my wife and I feel dictate the acceptance of dosa were winners here. This was my first time trying a cheese masala dosa and I am glad to have had it here. If you guys in Morton Grove area, give this place a try!

We started with the chicken lollipops. The taste was decent, but apparently the chickens they use are roughly the size of sparrows. Next came the Bang Bang Shrimp. The chef might want to take a field trip to PF Chang's and try their Dynamite Shrimp just to see what the dish is supposed to accomplish. The momos were ordered as appetizers, which I assume means they're intended to arrive before the meal. Ours showed up just as we were finishing our entrées. Maybe they were traveling from Nepal on foot. The goat curry was actually pretty good, which briefly gave us hope. Then the garlic naan arrived and tasted suspiciously like something that had recently completed a successful career at Costco. If they have a tandoor, it's apparently being used for storage. To add to the experience, there was live singing. Unfortunately, the entertainment seemed to receive more attention than the food. My humble suggestion: spend less time rehearsing songs and more time rehearsing recipes. The grand finale? The morning after, both my son and I were dealing with indigestion. Nothing severe, but it was a fitting encore to an already memorable evening. I rarely write negative reviews, but when a restaurant charges premium prices, I expect more than tiny appetizers, delayed food, questionable naan, and a digestive adventure. The biggest mystery of the night remains how this place maintains such a high rating.
