11/15/25 - Cool new Thai restaurant less than 1 mile from where is live. Thai O'Clock is @ 4748 W Peterson about 2 doors east of Cicero Ave. I received a flyer in the mail. They have been in the neighborhood for about 2 months. The interior of Thai O'Click is very tastefully done w/vertical light tan strips w/a black background on the top & some red accents spread throughout the restaurant I came here w/my buddy for lunch & both ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered a dish w/basil vegetable w/green & red peppers, green beans, onions & a sprinkling of red peppers w/chicken added. I also added a chicken satay w/peanut sauce & white rice. My body ordered the same thing but he got 3 tiny pieces of shumai Our server & I think the owner too (sorry I forgot her name) was outstanding & super friendly. She came around on several occasions & asked if we needed anything else. I will probably be back when the desire for Thai food arises. Beautiful restaurant, good food & outstanding service less than 1 mile from my house

The place is very cute and pretty on the inside. I loved the shareable appetizer platter, great to share for 4 people, the thai tea was also so yummy. Our waitress was very nice and my friends and i had a great time here. I definitely recommend stopping by!

Thai O'Clock - Chicago Thai chicken fried rice + garlic pepper steak (with white rice) + chicken pad thai = must try Choose your spice level & customize your meal 5/5 Loved the flavors + portion sizes, staff was so nice, and the vibe is cozy but lively. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner spot. Will definitely be back!

Small thai restaurant with both seating and carry out options. Waitress was attentive and food was served very quickly. I had cucumber salad (tasty, not overly dressed) and pad thai with shrimp (tasty, enough for this meal and some leftover)! Prices were pretty average for thai food these days. Would visit again if in the area!

I've been waiting for this place to open for a while, and it was worth it! The food is amazing, especially the lamb chops and the Yum Pla Duk Foo don't miss them. The restaurant looks great, the service is friendly, and the owner even came by to recommend dishes. I'll definitely be back. If you love good Thai food, you should try this place. FYI: It's BYOB.

Grilled New Zealand Lamb (3)

This was definitely a pleasant surprise being unfamiliar with Thai food. The dishes were plated beautifully and food was excellent especially the Grilled New Zealand Lamb . The service was exceptional: knowledgeable on menu items, attentive, engaging and overall great interaction. The restaurant itself is small but cozy and intimate. Great spot for a date night! Shout out to Cousin Vinnie!

Everything was good (although my curry was spicoer than I normally prefer.). The service was great and parking was easy at lunchtime.

Lots of friend groups and others, enjoying their together time, incredible meals, and just sharing together. Serious stuff: Ambiance was very inviting, letting all clientele the opportunity for unfettered enjoyment. Food was flavorful, sumptuous - just delicious and more than ample. Service; quick, courteous, attentive. Waitstaff proving good information on menu items and pairing suggestions. They checked on us several time, ensuring everything was to our liking. If ever back in Chicago, I will definitely be look for Shang Noodle!

Went here on a whim last night after reading all the glowing reviews on Yelp. Before that, I…read morechecked out a few eateries on the 4th floor of the Nordstrom building, but nothing really stood out, and honestly, none of them seemed very busy and the one restaurant Lao sze chuan was way too expensive! So I decided to try Shang Noodle, tucked away on a side street off Grand Ave., just steps from Michigan Ave. It's a little off the beaten path, down a short flight of stairs and a block down. As soon as I walked in, nearly every seat was taken. The place was lively, energetic, and a bit boisterous, but in a good way. I figured that was a good sign that the food was good! At first, the host wanted to seat me at the bar, which I politely declined. I noticed a small single table open, pointed it out, and he kindly let me take it. No tude! My server was efficient, friendly, and very helpful with recommendations since it was my first visit. She suggested the pot stickers over the hot and sour soup, and the beef Chow Fun instead of chicken. The pot stickers were a little small, but very tasty. I also asked for some sweet and sour sauce, which paired nicely with them. For my main dish, I ordered the char-grilled beef Chow Fun. The portion size was generous, and the char-grilled beef had great flavor. A few of the noodles were a bit firm, likely undercooked, but overall it was still enjoyable. What I appreciated the most about Shang Noodle was the value. $18 for the beef Chow Fun and $9 for the pot stickers felt reasonable considering the portion sizes and location. I'll definitely be back, though next time I may try lunch instead.
