    Quesabirria Taco - 6 Pack

Have I not reviewed this place before?? Very delicious birria tacos, TONS of meat, honestly I get full after 2. Very yummy consommé and salsa. And they're halal! No complaints (except sometimes they run out which is a testament to how yummy they are).

    Side of beans. Quite delicious!

I was visiting from out of town (Los Angeles) and I can assert that the record here are bomb! This is a small, unassuming joint. They have some seating but you might be fighting for one. I got a tree tacos dish. 3 diff tacos. Chicken. Birria. And shrimp. And let me tell you to my surprise the shrimp was the best! Might be hard to tell from a photo but these are decent side tacos. I'm 6 foot 180lbs and could only eat about 2.5 with some beans before I was stuffed. These tacos come in double fried double shells full of cheese along with a filling consume. Downside is it's extra for rice and/or beans. Which is a bummer. I did get the beans and they were delicious. The only negative is we came around lunch time and it took nearly 45 min to get our food. There were quite a few hungry people waiting for their order at the counter. And the food seemed to expedite sloooow. So either plan ahead or maybe order ahead if you go here.

There are trendier places in Pilsen but this place is the real deal. Simple menu but the best quesabirria in Chicago right here. Order at the counter, wait 15-30 minutes and get a plate of the best quesabirria paired with a flavorful consume. This is a must stop!

These were great tacos! There is limited seating inside and we only went to get a taste of the tacos. The consomé was chefs kiss - so flavorful and rich. The quesabirria has a little too much cheese for my liking but the flavors with the salsa were so yummy. Service was a little slow but may have just been at that time.

Had to wait quite long for our order of 6 quessabirria tacos BUT IT WAS WORTH--SO GOOD! They make the tacos fresh, and it came ready and piping hot. The tacos are about $6 each. So good dipped in the consommé. Appreciated their strawberry horchata ($5) as well--reminded me of a liquid strawberry milkshake. Loved all the funny and heartwarming signs all around the restaurant. It's a bit smaller but we were still able to find seats. A casual restaurant experience with yummy food!

If you're in Chicago and craving the ultimate quesabirria tacos, Quesabirria Jalisco in Pilsen is an absolute must-visit! These tacos are pure perfection - crispy, cheesy shells stuffed with incredibly tender, juicy beef birria that's packed with authentic Jalisco flavors. The consomé is rich, fatty, and bursting with spice from guajillo and chile de árbol, making every dip heavenly. I ordered the 4-pack with all the fixings - onions, cilantro, lime, and their amazing salsas - and paired it with horchata. Everything was generously portioned, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy at all. The cheese pulls are epic, and the meat just melts in your mouth. The staff is super friendly, the vibe in Pilsen is vibrant, and it's clear why this spot is hailed as having some of the best tacos in the city (often imitated, never duplicated!). Worth every penny and the potential wait - go early to avoid sell-outs. I'll be back weekly!

The food was hefty and salty. I'm used to birria compote having a smoother comforting taste but this was pure salt. The service was great though, just one attendant at the counter who let us know when our food was ready. The interior is small with limited seating, so we sat outside

Delicious quesabirria! We ordered in for delivery and at first I was a bit skeptical because it would have to be driven 15/20 minutes to us and they might have gotten soggy. Welp I was totally wrong. It hit the spot and I think was maybe one of the best that I've ever had.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, once you've had goat birria for breakfast on a street corner in Jalisco everything else pales in comparison. That being said, I enjoy trying them when I'm out and about on occasion. I got beef and shrimp. The shrimp was well cooked and well seasoned. I'm particular about when cheese can be with seafood and this was risk lol; I was pleasantly surprised. The beef was definitely the star of the show. It had those more traditional birria flavors you expect. The consomé was disappointing. None of the traditional taste profile and lacked depth; I could have done without it. The salsa verse was delicious. The food is prepared fresh to order and they gave free bottled water. It gets packed so expect a bit of a wait. I'd definitely return.

Salty salty salty. Rice, meat, consumme all so salty. Huge portion sizes with tons of meat but it's just so salty I couldn't eat any of it. May have been an off batch, but not for me.

Amazing stuffed taco's with your choice of proteins. I choose the 6 pack, which means as the name states, 6 taco's with any protein which I decided to get is chicken, shrimp and beef. Instead of putting all the taco's in 1 basket, she divided the taco's by protein to their own basket which was easier to share. The tacos are a bit greasy and topped with melted cheese. the order comes with consume (soup) that you can use it to dip the taco's for more flavor but I did not use. Order comes with 1 oz of beans and rice. Overall, the food was spectacular and I would highly recommend.

The best quesabirria tacos ever. The strawberry horchata was so delicious too. The consome had sooo much flavor and it made everything 100x better. I've been to a few places to try quesabirria tacos and I've always had the problem of the consome being plain so I was extremely happy that the consome was flavorful and delicious. The restaurant on the inside was very welcoming and beautiful and I loved the music they were playing. The person at the front was very nice so that made everything perfect. Me and my girlfriend will be back for more thank you!!!

They truly go above and beyond to make sure they deliver great customer service. They'll do little things like offer you a free taco of their Birria while you wait for your food. Go to any market in Mexico and they'll treat you the exact same. Unfortunately for them their original Southside location is closed due to a fire but they'll be back hopefully soon! My son and daughter both ordered their Birria Tacos, my wife ordered their Quesabirria tacos and I ordered their Tazon Chico of their carnaza Birria of course. It also came with a side of their handmade tortillas. Everything tasted so fresh and the Birria was very delicious. So much flavor in the consome. Ordering the tazon is definitely they way to go here because you get the meat in the consome. But if you wanted meat only, you have the option of ordering their plato instead. Regardless of what you order here, you won't go wrong. Enjoy!

Despite their well-earned fame, this spot keeps the humble, hole-in-the-wall energy intact, small, unpretentious, and staffed by some genuinely warm and welcoming people. Pop in, grab a seat, and let them do the rest. My fiancé and I shared the quesabirria combo, two quesabirrias with consomé, a Mexican Coke, and a Jamaica, and honestly, everything was amazing. The Jamaica alone deserves its own shoutout: perfectly balanced, not too bitter, not too sweet, and exactly what you need to cut through the heat of the food. The tacos came out piping hot, prepped right in front of us, loaded with cheese and packed with flavor. The consomé was warming, rich, and perfectly spiced, the kind of broth that makes you want to tip the bowl. And the accompaniments (onion, cilantro, peppers, lime, and salsa) give you full control to doctor things up to your liking. For spice lovers, this setup is a dream. My one gripe, and the sole reason I'm docking a star, is the price. At around $30 for two tacos, a consomé, and drinks, it's a tough pill to swallow. As a Mexican American, there's something about that price point that pulls me slightly out of the authentic experience I was hoping for. I fully respect the craft and passion behind this food, but it's worth noting. That said? Don't let it stop you. This food is incredible, and I'll absolutely be back.

Really awesome space at a crowded downtown location. Foods were served on nice metal holders or disposable/environmentally friendly containers and utensils. The tacos were huge, and I love that they focus on the variety of vegetables on the taco, which is often overlooked at other places. Veggies also make the taco look beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the tikka paneer, the paneer was soft for paneer but firmer than tofu, a really great texture. And the flavor wasn't overpowering. The tikka sauce was light, which I am totally fine with. The chicken quesadilla was also made well and of good value, the kids all really liked it. The salmon was good too but didn't really stand out as much, but appreciate the variety veggies on top! The mexi-Cali shrimp bowl was not bad either, but also didn't stand out much. The shrimp was good but I prefer it cooked even lighter if possible. Flavor was good tho. The rice was long grain, which I prefer, but they do give quite a lot, I ended up having quite a lot leftover. I wish the had a bit more cilantro or other herby mix to increase the depth of flavor, but overall still pretty good. Queso was also really good, thick and creamy, not too salty, but sadly the kids didn't like it as much. Husband also liked the gochujang pork a lot, said it was actually really really good. Overall, we really enjoyed everything we had there. Love that they also had paper towels everywhere. My preferred method of keeping clean haha. Will definitely come back.
