First time here on a Monday afternoon for lunch. Came here on the recommendation of someone who swears at this place is absolutely authentic and super delicious. It is a cute little place and fortunately we were able to find some street parking right out front but you do have to pay for. Service was super friendly and very fast. The food came out piping hot which was absolutely incredible and after the first round of tacos being so delicious we ordered more food. Horchata is pretty good too and homemade Would definitely come back, especially if I can find parking.

Great green juice a+ fresh. Surf n turf burrito No beans No sour cream Add rice Add onion Light guac! Amazing!!!! The tortilla they use taste so damn good however they grill it, it makes the burrito complete! The fresh chips and salsa, sooo good, better than so many Mexican restaurants in atlanta the past year I've been too, this one is the best. The coconut dessert!! It's a beautiful slice of cake that is moist like tres leches, but an airy and light bite with coconut flakes and flavor that is not overpowering. Amazing desssert. So many restaurants have the same items for desserts and the quality to me in desserts are never A + this one is!! With our check we also received these little candies. This experience was great. Nice little area on the Southside, Pilsen area. Family friendly neighborhood, kids walking around with their teachers and just that home feel when you come to this neighborhood. I would definitely return when I'm in Chicago!

I have to say I'm a little disappointed. Cecina Grill used to be part of La Cecina with their other locations in Back of the Yards and the other in Calumet City. But recently they branched off and became Cecina Grill. The disappointing part was their menu. You see, the other locations had an extensive menu. They also had a lot of cheap lunch specials. Cecina Grill is just to pricey with no specials at all. I ordered their Chilaquiles with Cecina. These were very delicious. They came with a side of rice and beans, and the Chilaquiles were in a very flavorful green sauce. And topped with two fried eggs and queso freaco. The Cecina a was long and thin and a bit salty. I really enjoyed my meal here, but I probably wouldn't order anything else bu Cecina tacos here, if they taste similar to La Cecina on 47th.

Chilaquiles were nice and crisp, with good amount of salsa, crema, y queso. Cecina was brought out after all the food was ready (waitress forgot) and was good but very thin.

Burrito de Cecina with a side of dinner rice and beans

Ordered burrito de cecina with a side of dinner rice and beans for pick-up on a Friday night. The service was right on time with their estimate, which was 20 minutes from placing the order. The portion size was perfect and everything was tasty. The order came with three different types of salsa, which were all spicy and delicious. I do wish the burritos came with a little more meat, but that is my only criticism. There were areas of the burrito that were just lettuce so it could've been prepared a little better.

Cecina Burrito: beans, cecina style meat, cheese, lettuce or cabbage (can't remember) and I had them add rice!

Bomb AF! A friend had suggested this place when I first moved to Chicago, but it took me a year to finally listen and go. I had been missing out on some good food! My gf and I take 2 buses, or Uber, from Hyde Park just to eat their Cecina steak! It is delicious anyway you try it! Could be in tacos, burrito, or in dinner plate (ordered each one of those items on separate occasions) and it doesn't disappoint!

Most of the reviews recommended the enchiladas and we ordered a variety of them. The Enchiladas Poblanos stuffed with chicken and cheese. The poblano sauce was rich and smoky. We also had the Enchiladas Morita. They were filled with shrimp and cheese. It was so flavorful and the morita chile added so much flavor. Each dish was served with a side jicama salad. Their special was a shrimp pasta with lobster. It came with full lobster tail. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. It is also BYOB, which is a nice option. We arrived around 7:30 on a Friday night and the place was packed. We only had to wait 10-15 minutes, which passed quickly with the live Mariachi music. The food came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. We got: - Margaritas -- piña mezcal, passion fruit and pepino. They were good but a little small for the price. - Pozole Pipian -- It has a verde base that's very light. Something that makes it unique is chicharrones on top. My daughter prefers pork over the chicken. - Carnitas Huarache -- good flavors but probably my least favorite of the meal. - Asada Torta -- this was my favorite dish of the night. The bread was really light and the meat wasn't tough at all. For dessert we got the churritos and Mexican bread pudding. Both were good but nothing special. All in all a great meal.

I arrived at the restaurant on time (4:30) and checked in with the hostess, who said I could only be seated when the entire group of three arrived. This seemed weird given the restaurant was pretty empty at this time, and ordinarily I'd order a drink while waiting at the table. Regardless, I went to Starbucks instead because I knew the other two were a few minutes behind. When I got back to the restaurant, my friend said the hostess told him we absolutely had to leave within 1.5 hours because we were late... which seemed odd because he may have checked in 15 minutes after our reservation, to an empty restaurant, that already refused to seat me on time. Regardless, the food was delicious. I had the Pollo in ChiChilo-- the mole was delicious, and I loved the chicken and sweet potato. I ordered the mole on the side, which seemed like a nice balance. Since the hostess wouldn't previously seat me, I had a lovely iced matcha latte with oat milk and half a pump of vanilla from Starbucks, which was a nice pairing. The waiter did ask if I wanted a shot of something with it, which seemed odd. Ambiance was cute, probably due for a renovation but seemed appropriate for most dining out occasions- dates, families, a day out in town. Note: the restaurant charges an automatic 20% gratuity which may explain the service. Keep this in mind to avoid tipping more than you intend.
