This place is pretty good. But the one thing that never sits well with me is when restaurants serve shrimp that haven't been deveined. Ill still give 3 stars because the server was so nice and the food was still pretty darn good. I just had to stay away from the shrimp. Hopefully they start to clean the shrimp moving forward. Also their non alcohol drink menu is off the charts!

We are back again. Food is sooo tasty as always. Nice cozy place, with happy music Leslie is always friendly and professional and food was served pretty quick .

Mojo De Ajo

Overpriced. 3 dollars for the mojo de ajo sauce alone. 18 bucks for my fish tacos and it tasted alright but nothing gangbusters. My dad got some beef steak tacos - he said it was bland. The woman working at the counter was kind and attentive. I loved the interior under-the-sea design of the place. They put a lot of effort into decorating the place and making it look nice. They had four big TVs - two play Spanish television and one visualizing the menu. Seems like a nice place to hangout - if only the pricing was more reasonable. However, it's a tough time for the food industry so I can't fault them too much. I just know if I want tacos - fish or beef I can get them a little cheaper and a little better elsewhere. And in a sea full of restaurants to choose from, sometimes the slightest difference is all the difference.

I recently found this spot on yelp in the Albany park area, worth the trip here, this is my 2nd time in 2 weeks, I truly think it's fresh, delicious and fast service. The staff are likable, they give you a mini caldo for appetizer, I ordered an Agua Mineral preparada, Tostada mixta and a 7mares caldo. Loves it and I will come here all the time but you should try it for yourself. Enjoy, Thank you, Chicas y Chicos

Loved it! Awesome food, got beef tacos, fish and shrimp tacos and the shrimp empanada was great. Highly recommend! Will be coming back.

This place should be a destination for foodies. And a gem for locals. Delicious taste. Fresh ingredients. Great service. Special touches (seafood soup while we waited for main). BYOB but some tasty mocktails.

Great new place. Really tasty food with good size portions. Friendly and fun owners. My friend had the shrimp empanada and loved them. My 3 taco dinner was really good and filled me up. Do yourself a favor and go check them out you won't be disappointed.

I came here yesterday for a work team outing and I was impressed! I typically like to go to La Costa for my Langostinos, but the wait time has gotten ridiculous. It's always a 1-3 hour wait. If you are interested in getting some flavorful Langostinos that won't disappoint, give these a try! I was very pleased with the quantity and quality. #chefskiss

It's the same concept as Boiling Crab or Kickin Crab in California. It is BYOB! So I walked across the street to Target, got some Seltzers and brought them to our table. This is prob the one thing that I love the most. Great service. The seafood boil is pretty good. They give you a bib and gloves to keep you relatively clean. You have to use your hands to eat your food and work for it. Go for the seafood Cajun sauce (garlic, butter, lemon pepper). It was super good flavor. Mild is the way to go. We asked for spicy sauce on the side for an extra dollar. I would skip the preset family meals. Order 1-2 lbs of your favorite seafood. They have prices per lb on the large chalk board. The shrimp, crawfish was cooked well. The crab legs were boiled before cooked, so the shell was soft and easy to cut with scissors. Next time, I'd get the shrimp, crawfish, clams, and mussels. The family feast ($145)- came with king crab, snow crab, option of 2 from shrimp, crawfish, mussels, clams. Also, a scoop of rice, green beans, garlic noodles, and fries. I would pass on the king crab and snow crab. Garlic noodles were average. Fries were average . They also sell boba drinks if you like that

I think it's a super fun nostalgic play on the classic Spaghetti O's. Of course these were way better, with the vodka sauce and meatballs. We walked in on a Saturday around 5:20pm, and were told it would be about a 20-30 minute wait, which was fine. We left, but ended up going back after 5 minutes to ask if we could just sit at the bar to order a drink while we waited. The hosts were super friendly and allowed us to do that, even though I think bar seating was part of the reserved seating. A couple minutes after we ordered our drinks, the friendly hostess came and let us know there was a cancellation so we could be seated at a table right away. To drink, I ordered the Secret Third Thing and it was delicious. Along with the Spaghetti Uh-O's, we also ordered the cabbage, which is cooked until it is tender and served almost like a caesar salad. My boyfriend got the fried chicken vesuvio and it was served in a fun bag with a personal sauce container. The chicken was fried perfectly and had a nice crisp. It only comes with maybe 3 little potatoes. We also got the focaccia and the garlic honey butter was soo good!

My wife had the Spaghetti o's which was great with clever presentation, but over salty, even for her who salts everything. She said she would not get it again. The focaccia was good, but the honey whipped butter stole the show. Ravioli (sweet corn, polenta, goat cheese and ricotta with candied jalapeño) was unique, tasty and tender with fresh pasta. The decor and artwork are old school, kinda English pub like. We will be back!

Alex gave us time to look over the menu before taking our drink orders. We did let him know it was our first time dining at Penumbra and would like anything recommendations he had to offer. He provided his recommendations, which were the jalapeño shrimp, the ribeye, and the salmon. My husband went with the surf and turf (ribeye and lobster), and I went with the salmon. Before our meal they serve you a complimentary sipping soup (potato rosemary bisque). We also ordered drinks. He had a mojito and I had a caipirinha. An Absolute Gem! Exceptional Food, Vibe, and Hospitality…read more My husband and I tried Amano Bistro for the first time last week, and we are already planning our next visit with friends! The open-kitchen concept creates a friendly vibe the moment you walk in. It is an intimate space with nice music in the background. The food was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with the Prickly Girl cocktail, which was excellent, followed by their special Arancini appetizer. For our mains, the Seafood Risotto and the Veal Scaloppini with garlic mashed potatoes were both absolutely phenomenal--perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the team. Our server, Anna, was fantastic and took great care of us all night. My husband had a problem with his entre, which was dealt with immediately. At the end of our meal, the manager, Alex, stopped by our table to see how we enjoyed everything and thoughtfully brought us each a digestif. That extra touch of hospitality really capped off a perfect evening. If you're looking for amazing food, a great atmosphere, and a staff that genuinely cares about your experience, Amano Bistro is a must-visit!

I cannot recommend this place sue to a shameful lack of hospitality and incredibly poor treatment…read moreof first time customers. The only silver lining is that Nikola, the owner, eventually stepped in, but it was too little, too late. I'll explain. We were excited to try this neighborhood spot we had walked past endless times. We had an occasion to celebrate after a hectic month and made reservations to enjoy a leisurely, unrushed meal - quite a few courses, a couple bottles of wine. We arrived just after 7:30. We ordered some cocktails and enjoyed the complimentary cornbread. We then ordered a a few appetizers and a bottle of wine. As we finished the appetizers, we went to put in an order for a couple of salads. At this point, the server told use the kitchen was closing in 6 minutes at 8:30. Their listed closing time is 10 PM. I expressed my dismay, and was told we didn't have to leave immediately. I guess our pastas, main courses, and desserts would just sit under heat lamps while they shut the place down around us? Again, we had only a five minute warning. All I got in turn from the staff was firm, unapologetic pushback that this was normal, because they were slow for Halloween. As for whose call it was, one of the partners was in from up the street just ten minutes before, so I'd imagine it was his call. We paid for our apps, cocktails, and wine, and got ready to leave. This was when another owner, Nikola stopped in. He offered to take us up to his other place in Lincoln Square to take care of us. We rolled with it, to try to salvage some semblance of the evening out. On half mile drive there, he apologized profusely and acknowledged that this was poor hospitality. When we arrived at the sister restaurant, he comped us a bottle of wine. We saw the gentleman who closed down the other place and he was somewhat flippant with a "Hey, sorry!" The sister restaurant, Ardor by Chance, was nice, but not exactly the environment we had originally planned for. Yet another guy who said he was an owner came over and apologized for the carrying on of a big table of friends of the business. We ordered dinner, which was fine. (Although I have to admit that $55 for two super slim lamb chops, a couple of baby potatoes, and a pair of asparagus spears was puzzling. I had to stop for snacks at CVS on the way home.) I want to make it clear that having Nikola acknowledge, apologize repeatedly, and attempt to make it right says a lot about his character. He seems like a really good person, and I wish him luck with his ventures. But this evening was a debacle for us. We spent nearly $300 (and yes, we tipped appropriately at both spots, adjusting up to account for the comped bottle as well) for an unsatisfying, chaotic dinner in two different locations. No sitting and catching up to unwind after a long month. No romantic date in a "cozy bistro," but instead crashing what felt like a company Halloween party up the street. We rarely plan nights out like this, with time and money being pretty tight these days. This experience was memorable, but for all the wrong reasons. We will not be back. I believe that Nikola truly understood that this was not acceptable and that his apologies were sincere, but with the excuses from the staff and at least two other partners running around, including one that seems to have made the questionable call, I can't trust this place not to pull some hijinks again. There are too many other spots in the neighborhood (and city) that consistently get hospitality right.

We ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Garlic Butter Lemon Pepper Wings (comes with fries) to share between 2 people. The wings were wonderfully, perfectly cooked, moist and so flavorful with a slight tart kick from the lemon pepper, and a nice crispy outside. The breading was the right amount, too. I admittedly don't normally care for chicken wings but I am a fan of Lloyd's!
