I dined in for dinner at Andros Taverna for the first time recently, and I had a wonderful time! I've been multiple times for brunch, but this was my first dinner experience, and it will not be my last. My friends and I started the evening with champagne and the Mezze Collection, which is an assortment of spreads and pita. I've had this before at brunch, and it is a REQUIREMENT at Andros. We then ordered a salad, mussels, lamb shoulder, and the whole fish (Andros style) to share. Several of the items were on their specials menu for the night, and they were all to die for. The fish was prepared and deboned at the table, which took out all the stress and work! I can't wait to come back for another dinner experience!

Stopped by on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant was packed but they were able to seat us outside. It was tolerable but as the night went on it grew colder and the lamp lights they have set up weren't enough to keep me warm. If you're picky about where you're seated or get cold easily I would recommend making a reservation. The server was super understanding and even helped us move a table closer to the heat lamps. Even though I was distracted by the cold, I was able to enjoy my meal. Dishes are made to share. They have a lot of good items but their menu is seasonal and rotates , so keep that in mind if you find something on there that you love. I do wish they updated their menus to reflect menu changes as there were a few items we asked about that they did not have. Would go back on a slower day and enjoy my meal inside!

I absolutely loved coming to this spot. The food and atmosphere are incredible. My aunt and I came here before we went to a Candlelight concert at the Stan Mansion. Everything was delicious. We got the spicy whipped feta appetizer and then we got euros with french fries inside them. I can't recommend this place enough. I would highly recommend it and go back for sure.

We went there for a dinner on Wednesday. They seated us after a few minutes. The ambience was great and they have happy hour specials (although check ahead during holidays). Great for a date night or family dinner. The rum old fashioned and the mezze platter were delicious!!! We tasted the whipped feta, eggplant, and favas spread. The pita was soft and fresh too! They have an incredible dessert menu and espresso machine for post dinner indulgence! We will be back to try out other dishes on the menu.

Went to celebrate a friends birthday and had an amazing experience. The service, the atmosphere, the food was so yummy. Great spot for family style dinner or to start your night for a night out. Will definitely be returning!!

This place has been on my list for a very long time and we got in for a Valentine's Day reservation. I was really excited about the limited menu because I wanted the shredded lamb shoulder. Our reservation was at 5:30... About as early as you can get for dinner and yet they were already sold out of the special so that was really disappointing that they would be so unprepared for one of the most popular dinner date holidays of the year... Alternatively, we went with a bunch of appetizers and split two entrées. Somewhere delicious somewhere very mid and somewhere a let down. Here's the breakdown: - Fried zucchini chips 5/5 - one of my favs in the city - Octopus 2/5 - one of my least favs in the city... it lacked flavor, was a small portion for the price and had a gooey string that grossed us both out - Fish spread that started with an M... haha 5/5 - I can't remember the name, but this was delicious! It was definitely pricey for the portion though especially because it didn't include pita... We had to pay an additional seven dollars for two pieces of pita, which was ridiculous - Oysters - 4/5 - husband enjoyed - Katifi cheese pie 4/5 - very tasty! Sweet and pricey but worth it - On special - fried fish- 2/5 - the waitress described these as small bite-size fish, but that is not how they came out and instead, it was really difficult to debone them and you hardly got any meat out of it. The flavor wasn't bad, but the experience was disappointing. I will say that they comped these after our feedback. - Gyros - 2.5/5 - it's not that these were bad per se... But I've had way better in the city to include fast, casual restaurants, and the price for the portion was pretty ridiculous again. Hardly any accoutrements. - Rockfish with pistachio brown butter - 5/5 - I believe this fish was on special and she described it as being a sweeter fish. They did come to the table and cut it for you so it was a lot easier to eat. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a sweet flavor. I also liked that you could choose your own dressing because the brown butter pistachio was delicious. - baklava froyo 3/5 - i'll bump this up to three because my husband liked it more than I did, but I was very disappointed by this dessert. The Greek yogurt was sour as to be expected, but instead of having actual baklava or pistachio flavor to balance it out, it basically just tasted like they dumped simple syrup on it and it was like a sour ice cream with just pure sugar drizzle... It really didn't come together for me. Overall, the service was really good and our waiter was very sweet. Also, our wine was delicious and the zucchini chips and fish spread were good, so maybe we would come for appetizers and drinks, but I definitely wouldn't return for a Greek dinner with the other options we have in the city.

My friend and I have our birthdays in February. I wanted to do something special. My friend, his sister, and I came here to celebrate. The ambiance is wonderful, especially when it starts to get dark outside. There is beautiful graffiti to look at as you walk up to the restaurant as well. I think parking is ample, but it would be annoying if you had to use the parking garage that's pretty much next door. We got here before the dinner rush on a Sunday. Street parking is free. Getting right into it, we were instantly served an appetizer of what looked like cherry tomatoes on a vine with a small dish of oil, salt, and spices for dipping. The server said these tomatoes are flown in daily from overseas. It wasn't easy to eat. If you're on a first date, I'd just pop the whole tomato in my mouth, or try to cut the tomato in half carefully without it squirting everywhere. That way the contents of the dip dish will stick to the tomato. Additionally, I ordered us the calamari appetizer with some bread. It was delicious, but it didn't wow me. I had the octopus, and my friends had the beef and the eggplant. All were delicious. I wish I had ordered a larger portion of the octopus. Overall the portions are small, and for what we paid I think they could have come down on the price. It clocks for the area though. Everyone was nice, but if I am paying this much for a dinner, I don't want to watch children running around and making noise either. I don't consider this place a family restaurant. Especially when the focal point in this place is the bar. Desserts were okay. The server gave me a spoon to cut through my flaky apple dessert with barely any apple filling. What was there was delicious. Again, I would say re-think the portions or the pricing. Maybe consider adding a side to the octopus without increasing the cost. Dine here once for the experience. There are better Greek restaurants in Chicago. I would pay the drink prices and come here one more time, late, to check out who is sitting at the bar. I know how this area can get at night. I could see this place being fun.

Ceviche. Bowl kept sliding around on the ice. Weird presentation. Was very good.

Ill be really honest, there is a LOT of hype amongst my friend group about this place. So, clearly it must be me, which is why im giving this 4 stars. Normally I would give this a 3 at best. First off, we had a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night. We were sat in the (heated) patio on metal seats. I dont know bro, it's Saturday night date night and I'm not 21. Metal patio seats? We were also sat right next to a table of 6 with 2 very loud children. Our reservation was at 7pm, we do this on purpose. Shouldn't kids who are young enough to not control their volume be in bed? Food was okay. The way people were talking about this place is expected to be blown away. I just wasn't. Wine list was mediocre at best, although my husband really liked the cocktail he got (Midas touch). Our server was really sweet and the timing of everything was perfect really. Again, I was just expecting so much more.

Five stars doesn't feel high enough. [Not written using AI.] We are sitting in ANDROS TAVERNA during a six-hour layover in Chicago, feeling like we discovered some priceless ancient treasure, and think you'll want to experience this yourself. Full disclosure: my wife loves Greek food and I like it, at best, but when I let her choose dinner, it was Greek. (Ugh) From excellent online reviews and two personal recommendations, we discovered ANDROS TAVERNA, and from the moment we walked in, it was obvious this was something special. In fact, we took a 50-minute train ride from the airport just to try it -- and as soon as we finish here, we'll head right back to catch our flight to Los Angeles. That should tell you how worth it this place is. It started with an unbelievably fresh complimentary appetizer that immediately told us this restaurant cares about details. Then we ordered (and shared) the crispy kataifi cheese pie along with the mezze collection with pork and chicken, cooked absolutely perfectly. For the next 40 minutes, it felt like every few bites one of us would stop to say, "Okay... THIS is incredible." We've just finished dessert -- Greek donuts -- and finished with a decaf French press for my wife and a cappuccino for me, and somehow even those were perfect. That pretty much sums it up the food. The service deserves its own paragraph. The servers work together like a true team instead of "your server disappearing for 20 minutes." Everyone seemed attentive and genuinely happy to help. And the restaurant itself? Absolutely beautiful, with high ceilings and lots of greenery and wood. I might say contemporary, but that would belittle the old school charm. I'm including a picture. If you've read this far, you probably think I'm related to the owner or something, but I'm not. First visit, just genuinely blown away. It can get crowded, so make allowance for that. And I believe they just started opening for lunch. This may honestly be one of the best layover decisions we've ever made. Hats off to ANDROS TAVERNA. Five stars doesn't feel high enough. I've been on a Greek food kick lately and I recommend Andros Taverna. Located in Logan Square, this modern Greek spot feels elevated but still welcoming. We started with the Watermelon Feta salad with avocado, olives, sweet peppers with dill and drizzled with olive oil- a good summer salad! For the mains- we ordered the dry aged lamb chops and lemon garlic chicken. Both of the dishes are shareable and I highly recommend! The chicken includes fournou potatoes drizzled with lemon and olive oil! Both the meat dishes were juicy, tender, and flavorsome! Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and just the right amount of attentive. The space itself is beautiful -- modern but still cozy, with a slight open kitchen that gives it energy without feeling loud or chaotic. It's definitely worth visiting if you're craving Greek food with a refined twist. I'll absolutely be back, next time with an even bigger appetite.

A 10/10 experience! The server was friendly, the patio was beautiful and the food was divine. We started with the cherry tomatoes, and as someone who typically hates tomatoes, I was blown away by how delicious they were. They're served with cracked salt and Andros' house made seasoning blend and they were amazing. We also split the Feta Dip with pitas and it was one of the best appetizers I've ever had. For our main dishes, I got Georgie's Gyros and my boyfriend got the special Neck of Lamb. There wasn't as much meat on it as he would've enjoyed, but it was still tasty. The gyro was a standard, but delicious gyro! I also got a happy hour cocktail (Midas Touch). My boyfriend got the Ghia Spritz. Both were lovely additions to the appetizers. The appetizers were our favorite part, we'd love to come back and enjoy drinks and apps on the patio!

My friends and I had our first triple date at Andros Taverna, and it was a memorable experience. My fiancée and I took the Blue Line and walked about eight minutes from the station. We had a reservation at 6:30 PM on a Saturday. The restaurant was about 90% full when we arrived, and it became even busier around 7:30 PM. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if your party includes six or more people. Once we were seated, we began with a bottles of Zacharyas Assyrtiko wine and a side of fresh tomatoes. The tomatoes were incredibly fresh and juicy. Our waitress, T, checked in with us couple times to make sure if we have any questions or ready to take orders. For appetizers, we ordered the Mezze Collection, which included tatziki, tarramasalata, and spicy whipped feta. I recommend adding pita bread to pair with the dips. The Cretan sausage and grilled octopus were both outstanding, both dishes are fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. We ordered the large portion of octopus, which came with four tentacles. For our mains, we shared the 1.5 lb Lavraki, fournou potatoes, lamb chops and T-bones, and grilled halloumi. * 1.5 lb Lavraki: The whole fish was presented beautifully, and the store manager, David, kindly deboned it at the table. He double checked to ensure no bones remained before serving. The preparation highlighted the fish's delicate, sweet, and buttery flavor. I am honestly impress, and enjoy every single bite of the dish. * Chops and T-bones: The first lamb chop dish we received was not cooked to the right temperature. However, our amazing waitress, T, immediately replaced it and had the item removed from our check. The second plate was cooked perfectly. Each bite was rich, savory, and well seasoned. We were all very impressed with the team's professionalism and hospitality. For dessert, I recommend both the Loukoumades and the Baklava Froyo. * Loukoumades: These sweet fried dough balls were warm, crispy on the outside, and soft inside. * Baklava Froyo: A must-try for frozen yogurt lovers. It had a rich flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. Special shout-out to our waitress, T, and manager, David. The service was outstanding. We were well taken care of from beginning to end -- from wine refills to fish deboning. The kitchen clearly puts heart into every dish, and the staff ensures guests feel welcome and valued. We are looking forward our next visit!

    Roasted eggplant with add-on pita

I've driven by this place so many times and have always been so impressed by how crowded it gets during dinner time. We enjoyed their Italian sister restaurant next door for our Valentine's date that my wife and I decided to give them a try. We arrived for a week day late lunch and were immediately seated outside so we could enjoy the meal with our dog. QR codes on the tables, to help the planet and ease ordering. We came hungry, but due to most of their prices being in the 20s I we ordered two different appetizers to share and an entree to split. The calamari was the most disappointing to me. For the price over 20 I would have expected more in number, but it only consisted of a small series of baby octopus. It was a bit too salty for me as well. The roasted eggplant with an add-on of pita was a bit more suited for my pallet. Crispy vegetables are the set pairing, but I recommend adding on the pita as it was perfectly fluffy, warm, and a good hint of garlic. The vegetable pairing seemed a bit small for the roasted eggplant. Unfortunately the gyro was a let down as well. We were told it comes with fries, "it's under". So we didn't order a side of fries. We were greeted with a pleasantly appearing gyro in a wrap but the fries were probably 4-5 thick cut placed between the meat and the pita. It all felt under seasoned, dry or mostly overcooked pieces, and overall failing to satisfy a gyro crave. Unfortunately no picture of this one because we were so hungry at this point we just jumped in. If our server were to come back check to see if our meal was okay I'd probably let them know, but we were mostly left alone outside as we were the only ones out there in front. Parking is tough, mostly paid street or paid valet. Reservations would probably be a good idea for dinner dates. Outdoor seating during warmer weathers so it is per friendly. I feel as if the pricing vs food quantity and quality is off here so we probably won't be going back, but give them a try. Maybe you'll have a better experience.

Stylish Fulton Market Brunch with Great Food and Service…read more Booked brunch for two on OpenTable at Aba in Fulton Market, and it's easy to see why this spot is so popular. The space is beautiful--open, bright, full of natural light, and stylish without feeling overdone. We ordered the Short Rib Shakshuka, which was flavorful with just a hint of spice and a generous portion size. The warm, soft pita served alongside was perfect for dipping. The Steak and Eggs was also excellent--the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fried potatoes were a standout: crispy on the outside while still moist and tender inside. Portion sizes were just right. We also tried both of the recommended brunch cocktails, and they were strong, flavorful, and well balanced. Service from Mike was great--friendly, efficient, and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, Aba delivered a polished and enjoyable brunch experience. Highly recommend, and based on what we tasted, I'd absolutely come back to try dinner.

I have to admit... it's not the same as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent place to dine at, especially on their patio during the Chicago summer, which was one of the biggest reasons why I came back. I was with someone who had not explored Chicago before so it definitely gave the city ambience while being engulfed in the Mediterranean experience. Yet the inside dining area feels like you're dining in small romantic villages in Italy or Greece. Service is still top notch. But the food is what's not the same. For me, the highlight was the crispy short rib hummus. I never thought they'd go well together but the juices from the meat blended in with the hummus and it's just soooo good. The kefta was nothing to be impressed about in which I expected more for the price we paid for. The chicken thighs were good but also nothing to be that impressed about. The one thing I was a little disappointed by is that they no longer serve a desert I tried the first time I was there, and their new desserts are average. Nothing to marvel about. Their OG desert is what had stayed in my mind all these years. You can't go wrong for a nice little date night at this spot or if you're new to the city, but it's not exactly a place I feel like I want to come back to, especially at that price. You're really mostly paying for the experience of the place.

In the past, though, I've loved both the Warm Sticky Date Cake and the Frozen Greek Yogurt, and I'd recommend either without hesitation. I was secretly hoping for a tiny scoop of frozen yogurt as a birthday surprise, but my server didn't mention it and I didn't remind him of the celebration (and honestly, we were way too full anyway ). As a huge Top Chef fan, it's always special dining at Chef CJ Jacobson's restaurant. I had the opportunity to meet him during my very first visit to Ema, and he was incredibly gracious. His creativity and attention to flavor are evident in every dish. Ema continues to set the standard for what a great dining experience should be. It's the restaurant I recommend most often when people ask me where to eat in Chicago, and it remains my go-to place for special celebrations. I can't wait to come back again soon! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad PS: the hotel next door no longer provides parking validation.

After coming back to the city almost a decade later, I knew I wanted to have a meal here. The best way to eat a meal here is to share all the dishes with friends. Sage Gimlet (5/5) - I started my meal with a refreshing sage gimlet that was a strong but well balanced cocktail. Roasted Bone Marrow (5/5) - I 100% would recommend getting this appetizer to start off the meal. The marrow was perfectly roasted and paired so well with the jam and salad. Roasted Beets (5/5) - If you love beets, get this salad. The flavors were so well balanced and I really liked the fried balls of goat cheese. Agnolotti (5/5) - This pasta was amazing!! The short rib and bone marrow with the fresh pasta still makes my mouth water. Scallops (5/5) - These scallops were perfectly cooked. The crispy prosciutto was a tad on the salty side. I honestly love the energy and the flavor bomb this restaurant packs. I can't wait until I'm back in the city and can dine here again.

Walking to the location, my friend and I discussed the various dishes we would like to try. In hindsight, I'm grateful for the walk because it helped make room for the dishes we would try. When we entered, we immediately were seated and greeted by Omar. His knowledge of the menu helped us focus on our dishes. We ended up ordering: squid ink chitarra, agnolotti, salt- roasted beets, pork belly, and gelato. Each dish was better than the next. The brown butter and red wine jus used for the agnolotti was addictive and the squid ink was delectable. Who knew salt- roasted beets could taste out of this world? Not me. We ended with a glass of limoncello and champagne to accompany our vanilla gelato. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Mediterranean Meze - very flavorful blend of 22 ingredients according to our waiter. This dish was truly unique. 5/5 Grilled Halloumi Meze - delicious cheese with olives and garlic bread. 4/5 Stuffed Eggplant - savory and creamy dish which actually might be even better served hot. 5/5 Calamari Meze - Excellent and tender. Not chewy at all which was nice. There were a ton of olives which I didn't think complimented the calamari. Overall, still 5/5. Mushroom Tava - mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were delicious. One of my favorite dishes of the night. 5/5 Stuffed Mushrooms - this dish fell flat on flavor and had more of the typical mushroom texture. 3/5 The Hunkar entrée initially was extremely salty. I mentioned this to the waiter and they remade it, which turned out great, so I'm hoping the salty dish was a one-off. 5/5 Our waiter was very friendly and attentive throughout. The restaurant itself is also casual upscale, so nice for most occasions. Avaspi exceeds expectations and I highly recommend this excellent Mediterranean restaurant.

After 20 mins and us asking food runners 3 times to get us a waiter we finally got assistance. We ordered the meze platter to start and very clearly stated, no nuts. The waiter said "we only use walnuts", we responded, no nuts. The food arrived and 2 of the 4 dishes had nuts on them, when I pointed it out to the waiter, he said "they're only on the top"! It was as if he was trying to be funny? Or sarcastic? Anyway, decent food, poor service.
