Used Shaw for the first time this week when our air conditioner went out in our townhouse during the hottest week (so far) of the year. They came highly recommended by a neighbor so decided to contact them. The technician was able to come by to do the diagnostic and, thankfully, it was a fairly simple fix. Jaron was timely, polite, appropriately friendly, and explained what he needed to do and why. After dealing with the company that did the install in our relatively new townhome, it was a breath of fresh air to have a transparent interaction with an HVAC contractor. SHAW Services is an outstanding 5 Star customer service-oriented Heating and Air Conditioning company in Manassas, VA. I have been using them for years (replaced my entire HVAC system with them in 2015). Recently my AC motor, still under warranty, blew out (of course during a heat wave). The motor had to be special ordered from the manufacture (Carrier). When the owner, Ron, found out Carrier had mistakenly shipped it to the Carrier Hub in PA, instead of his company in Manassas, Don personally drove up to PA to retrieve it, drove back to my house in Gainesville, VA, and with one of his tecs, Ryan, installed it late on a Friday night - and all this during a Friday night severe thunder storm watch! Now that's customer service! The owner, Ron, and techs Ronnie, Ryan, Brian , Donny, and Sunny (hope I didn't miss anybody) are top notch in their field of providing HVAC heating and AC installations, maintenance, and repairs. Shaw Services just replaced our 21 year old HVAC. They have been providing maintenance for many years for our HVAC system and the fact that our unit last 21 years is a testament to their knowledge and expertise in the HVAC field. I slight spike in the temperature in April 2016 brought in back memories of last summer's heat. We decided we needed a new home air conditioner. We asked friends and family for recommendation and brought in 3 companies for estimates. Shaw Services was our clear winner in part to the cost but more so because of Matt M. He came for the initial estimate and patiently answered my questions. I was an expert after talking to the other two companies and the interim research I did on the all-powerful web. I was emailing questions to Matt over the weekend and I would get a reply. To help me make a fair comparison he even did an apple to apple comparison for me. The other companies were pushing to purchase a new furnace, Matt told us that we really did not need to replace the furnace right now but in a couple of years it would be needed. In the end we did get both the furnace and air conditioning The financing process was a breeze and today everything was installed. The Shaw team of Sunny, Steven and Matt arrived when said they would and did the installation. Things were done on time and everything was left in place (much cleaner around the furnace). I was kept informed and was consulted on esthetic items, who wants to paint a wall if the thermostat being installed is smaller than the old one. WARNING: The preventative service agreement apparently has an expiration date. I moved into my home in September 2016 and had Shaw do a heating system check not long after I moved in. The lady who answered my initial phone call sold me on the preventative service agreement which covered one heating system check and one cooling system check. The plan was to schedule the cooling appointment for the springtime, but they didn't schedule out that far in advance. So I would have call when the time got closer. I should say that the tech who came out for the heating system check was great. So the months went by and I received a notice to schedule my heating appointment and renew my preventative service agreement. I called Shaw's and asked to schedule my second appointment, but was told that they were no longer scheduling cooling system checks so I would need to renew if I wanted to schedule an appointment. I said okay, I will just wait until spring. The lady who answered the phone said it would still be a renewal. I was shocked that she was telling me that I was just out that money. I only received half the services in the agreement, and because I didn't remember to call until I received the mail notification I will never receive the other half of the services I already paid for. No flexibility, no consideration for customer service. Just no. I do not recommend Shaw Services. read more

I am very happy with Shaw Services. When I moved into my condo three years ago they replaced my water heater. Steve and Sonny were very professional and explained everything to me. About a year later I had them back to install a humidifier. The reason that I'm writing this is because I just recently sold my condo and the inspection required me to have my hvac system inspected. I once again called Shaw Services. The owner of the company, Don Shaw came out and took the whole system apart and found a tiny hole in the heat exchanger. Even though I was selling the condo and needed the basics, he did a very thorough job, and it was a good price. I am buying a new place now and if I ever need work on my systems I'll be sure to use Shaw Services ces again! read more

I'm sorry to say that I too once used Shaw and they were very good, then I found them to be much like the rest poor service, I got a quote on a systems replacement and they were much more than the other Co so I went with a lower price, they didn't inquire nor offer to price match, I had a annual service contact for years which they would not honor on the new system, they wouldn't even return my calls, When I requested a quote online to replace both of my units I received no response, they don't even answer the phone ??? I've used shaw since they started up. they used to be great. I don't know if they been bought out or what, but in the last 11 months there service has become terrible. they had to return a second time to repair a problem they caused in the fall. the person they now have answering the phone is absolutely terrible. where did this once very good company go? they also have become overly expensive. read more
