Dan made a trip to our house to assess the exact insert and provided us with lots of tips. We immediately placed the order for the Regency Gi33LE the first week in November, with Stewart for the new gas insert inside our current wood burning fireplace. Much to our surprise, they were able to squeeze us into their schedule to have it installed before Thanksgiving! Dan and his crew professionally installed a new gas line/pipe and dedicated electric circuit inside our house for the new insert and arranged with the Town inspector to obtain permits and inspection. All went exceptionally well. Dan is incredibly knowledgeable about home construction and the gas fireplace products and business. On a scale of 1-10, I rate him a 10 on customer service. With the snowstorm on Jan. 25, 2026, we tested the manual turn on using batteries in case the power goes out. After the test, the fireplace would not turn back on, so I emailed him on a Sunday morning to see if there was a trouble shoot for this problem. Immediately, he phoned me, and within 5-10 minutes, we started the fireplace with his over the phone directions!! Wow, we were so pleasantly surprised and very much appreciative of his support!! We thoroughly enjoy our new highly functional and esthetic gas fireplace insert and the heat that warms our rooms. We shopped at a couple of local places, and we found NOVA Fireplace and Stove the most helpful for understanding the process, options, and prices. After servicing it, they failed to put the logs back correctly and left the flue closed. Within hours, soot blew throughout our entire house. Black soot covered walls, ceilings, upholstery, linens, and furniture in nearly every room. The damage was catastrophic. We had to go through our homeowners insurance because the cleanup costs exceeded $60,000. The restoration required professional soot remediation, sealing and repainting walls, cleaning all upholstery and fabrics, and extensive cleaning throughout the entire home. What made this even worse was the company's response afterward. They would not provide the business owner's information or their business insurance information, and they took absolutely no responsibility for the damage caused by their work. We were left to handle the nightmare ourselves.

The gas fireplace company recommended Cory to come clean and inspect the chimney. I said it was already done but we needed to do it before installing the logs. Cool. I also wanted to remove the corbels sticking out of the fireplace. Cory came over and cleaned the chimney. He took photos and explained the previous company (who charged twice as much as Cory) left half of a 5 gallon bucket of debris inside the chimney and on the ledge. And they didn't secure a nail or screw. Cory took care of everything! The pics showed his great work! Then the corbels. He brought multiple bricks with him and fit the best ones. He explained that the mortar wouldn't match exactly but hopefully he could get it close. He definitely undersold himself. It looks amazing! If I point it out, you can see it. But it blends perfectly!

After waiting, I followed up again in August and received the same response--that I would get a call back. Only today, after months of waiting, did someone finally reach out, just to tell me that it's now too late in the season and they can only book me for the off-season in 2026. After more than a decade of great service, this lack of follow-through and responsiveness has been frustrating and surprising. I put a bid on Home Depot (rookie mistake) and had 2 contractors say I needed a cap that could be installed for $900. That didn't seem thorough so I called evolution chimney. They had a young man and his partner came out and they went in the basement and to the roof and told me all the work I needed done. They had to add a new and wide liner, fix the deteriorating staccato, ensured that there was no chance of carbon monoxide and of course the cap. It was well worth the investment. The first appointment I had there was a scheduling mishap so the woman that took my call offered to deploy an emergency weekend team but I opted to reschedule for the next week. The work was done in a few hours. I was worried about squirrels still getting into the attic so I put a metal trap up there but nothing has been in the attic since and no water seems to be coming through the wall. Highly recommend.

I initially hired Gerber to tune-up all my existing pavers, add a new paver driveway, and add some new path lighting. Adding the new driveway was somewhat of a challenge as the adjacent paver sidewalks were initially constructed over 10 years ago. So, Gerber was able to find a great match to my existing pavers and masterfully piece the new driveway together in such a fashion where old and new appear seamless. Amazing!!! During the process, we learned that his team also offered landscaping. So as the hardscaping and lighting was coming to an end, his team met with us for a design consultation. Both Kathy and Katherine brought some great experience/knowledge to assess our current situation and offered wonderful ideas to the overall design. We loved what we heard and proceeded with the landscaping work immediately. In the end, we could not be happier!
