So after budgeting for it, I contacted Bryan at NOVA Fire Design for inspection and service. Bryan was very responsive and after my initial inquiry and he returned my phone call the same day. NOVA Fire Design (as of this review) charges a straight $199 for the visit and service + additional charges for parts if repairs are needed. Having contacted three other vendors who are in this field, NOVA Fire Design was the most reasonable. On the appointed day, Bryan showed up on time and made sure to lay down a blanket so as to not scratch up the floors and to catch any dirt and debris. Upon his inspection, he discovered that one of the gas lines was a bit clogged so he cleared it out, also found out the problem with the battery back-up ignition system, cleaned the and reset the logs, and even shined up the glass. One of my neighbors indicated that I "could've" done all of this myself by watching a few YouTube videos...which is technically true. However, when it comes to anything gas and something which could potentially burn my house down, I'll stick with a professional who knows what they're doing - and Bryan certainly does. Brian came out to complete a required annual inspection of the gas fireplace in a condo. Brian quickly answered the phone call to determine available appointment dates and times: I was in a hurry to get this done to facilitate a real estate transaction. At inspection time, Brian called ahead to make sure I was available. He not only completed the inspection, but cleaned the glass, vacuumed the logs, and checked the tubing, switches and ignition. I needed to have my rental townhouse unit fireplace serviced. I was very glad to have found Bryan and Nova Fire Design. Bryan is very responsive and honest. My townhouse serves as a rental and he showed up at the agreed time for the tenant. He inspected the fireplace and called me afterwards to inform me that the unit was actually a recalled unit from nearly 15 years ago. Bryan Pisani is a stand up guy and conduct business in a good old fashioned way that is hard to come by these days. My neighborhood pooled together for the natural gas conversion project last year. I contracted with Bryan to complete my entire house with natural gas retrofit for multiple appliances (furnance, cooktop, water heaters, gas logs, dryer, bbq). He gave me a fair quote for the project and worked on the initial phase. However, there was a major glitch with Washington gas contractors and I did get gas hookup until 9 months later. Bryan was patient, easy to deal with and meticulous about his works. We finished the project today and Bryan voluntarily gave me nice discount for referral of my neighbors to him and all seemed to be happy with his work. I felt satisfied with his craftmanship, service and most of all his honesty, I reciprocated by paying him a $300 above his asking price.
