Our gas fireplace was not working (igniter sparking but couldn't light the pilot). I was hesitant to book Wammoth because of their pricing model: they require a full service inspection, cleaning and tune up which covers basic repairs but then will give a quote if more extensive repairs are needed. So basically $350 minimum but not knowing if it was going to be more expensive. I went ahead and booked them since we hadn't really cleaned/serviced our unit in at least 10-15 years. They did a phenomenal job cleaning the unit and the repair ended up being included in the service cost. Highly recommend this company. read more

I've used these guys for several years. They are fast, friendly and clean. But I've replaced the thermopile in my gas logs twice and the valve and it has never worked right. Instead my logs keep cutting in and out. The problem is that I get work done off season. So by the time I use the fireplace, I'm outside their warranty. Today I emailed them to see what could be done to solve my problems and was told that parts are hard to come by due to the age of the logs, and that a new valve assembly would be $1,000. Jumped on the internet and found the valve readily available at less than $200. So, don't confuse friendly with effective. Everyone in the company is super nice, but I have spent roughly $1000 with this company and still have the same problem. Oh, and I did tell the installer last time right after he replaced the valve that it had cut out, and he said it was probably because it was new. I am not going to use them again. read more

Our fireplace was burning with a horrible gas smell and we had been afraid to use it with our 1 year old in the house. It's 20 years old and we had never serviced it in the 12-14 years we have lived there. I looked at a lot of different companies before booking with Wammoth Services, and I still didn't know what to expect when they arrived. The Hearth Specialist, Bill, took his time cleaning all the years of soot off the fireplace glass, realigning logs and cleaning up inside of, and underneath the hearth. I was so impressed by his thoroughness and his willingness to explain, so much so that I would be more informed enough to even mention realigning logs. Bill confirmed that even with just the pilot light on, the fireplace was so dirty it was putting off carbon monoxide. He cleaned it so well and it's such a relief. If you don't even know the last time you cleaned your fireplace, do it! I'd you want it done by a reputable and great company, use Wammoth Services. I am really glad that I did. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations. I have two gas fireplaces that I believed were both in need of repair. When I called to make the appointment and explained the problems, I was told that the regular servicing would be able to tell if there was a problem and we could go from there. Turns out, everything that was out of order was fixed during the routine servicing appointment without any additional charges. He took everything apart, cleaned and serviced both fireplaces, and even took the time to answer my questions along the way that I'm sure were annoying. I wouldn't use anyone else!! Super friendly. Super clean. Super thorough. I was somewhat of a difficult client because I am only available during limited days/times. Wammoth made it work! They were beyond friendly to me, their follow up and communication about services was amazing! I appreciated that the service tech was super careful about any furniture he had to move. He used a painters tarp for all the fireplace pieces and tools so that my rug was protected. He even had those disposable shoe covers on his feet. He was cleaner than my house. Okay just getting around to this review as my appointment was a couple days ago. Wanted to make sure it got done as Ryan was great! Here we go! Moved into my home last fall but never used my fireplace. Wasn't sure when the last time it was serviced so I made it a point to get it done this summer. Mammoth cost a little more but there worth it. Ryan pre called and arrived early in the service window which was a plus. He stated all that the service entailed and answered questions patiently. I contacted Wammoth based on positive reviews on Washington Consumers Checkbook and was very pleased by the experience. Arranging the appointment was easy and there was a good confirmation process. Ryan, the service technician, contacted me promptly in advance of the call to ask if he could be early. He was knowledgeable, personable and efficient in cleaning and servicing our rather elderly gas logs, He confirmed that we may need a new thermocouple but did not try and sell it, rather he suggested that we use the unit and see. When indeed the unit would not stay lit after a few days he made a prompt return visit at no cost to replace the thermocouple and the unit has performed flawlessly since. What I really appreciated was that we both smelt gas on his visit and he identified that the release valve was partially open and addressed it. He also took the time to fine tune the log placement to meet my wife's exacting requirements. All of this was done cheerfully. I do very much recommend them! read more

Excellent family run company that have serviced my ventless gas fireplace. Can't recommend enough!

Very professional and detail oriented company. From the initial consult on fireplace options to the final install, Wammoth did a great job of helping me pick the best fireplace for me and my tastes. They took the time to listen to what I wanted and provided both recommendations and education to help me make the right choice. After an initial deposit of 1/3 of the price, they scheduled my chimney scan within a week, and installation a couple of weeks after that (the logs I selected had to be ordered). Installation was thorough, with care to make the fireplace look good as well as correctly installed. This included raising the floor of the fireplace and selecting the color of the floor and embers to really make the flame and logs stand out. Afterwards, the installation and operation was fully explained and demonstrated. Additional note: the installer was also personable, took the time to answer our questions, practiced proper COVID safety, and even taught me a bit about chimney and fireplace design. Excellent job by Wammoth today. Bought a house with a gas log that my home inspector told me not to turn on until a professional took a look at it. They serviced it and then took the time to show me all the ins and outs of my fireplace. I asked for a blower and thermostatic remote and he was honest enough to let me know that I already had a blower in there which was working fine. moved back into my home and noticed the gas fireplace wasn't working. i originally used another service who charged me $150, took 10 minutes to service the fireplace and got it working. i thought all was fine until a few months later when the flame would go out after 10 minutes. enter Wammoth services. I used Yelp to get a quote. They were more- $100 more to come to a service check on it. But honestly, totally worth it. The tech showed up with a vacuum and all the tools and cleaners you could think of. He took a good 40 minutes or so to service the fireplace. Took things apart, checked them and replaced them. it looks better. doesn't have a weird smell anymore and he went over the checklist of what was done. It looks a little better and i've had NO problems with it since. Oh- did i tell you the work comes with a 30 day warranty, so that's a plus. I'd use these guys again- especially since they did honor a military discount and my fireplace is going strong. Highly recommend you call them out to service your fireplace! read more

Great experience with Wammoth Services. The booking was seemless and the response time was quick, and while there was a bit of a wait for our appointment they did offer to put us on the waitlist in case anyone cancelled. They didn't have any cancellations resulting in an earlier appointment, but as I've learned, this is a small, family-run business and I appreciated the offer. Day of the appointment Bill called to let me know he was on his way, he was courteous when he arrived and introduced himself, he put shoe covers on, he asked about my fireplace (history, use, etc), he explained some of the components of my particular fireplace (it's a newer house so I am not familiar with it yet) and also gave me some very useful safety tips. We sought an appointment based upon a recommendation of (an equally professional and highest quality) chimney sweep firm. Rooftop Chimney Sweeps - who are superb - doesn't work on gas fireplaces, but they know a reliable firm when they know one - and that's Wammoth. I won't repeat what others have said about Wammoth's focus on cleanliness and willingness to explain how the fireplaces are best used and maintained. They did all that, but also corrected the log installation on both our gas fireplaces, cleaned all parts and glass fronts such that each looks brand new, and even replaced batteries and "re-synched" the remote we thought was broken.
