We have had two very positive experiences with this company. The first was last summer when our AC stopped working. The current place we used said they could get someone out to look at it in 3 days (mind you, we were a priority member and if your house getting up to 86° in July does not qualify as an emergency with them, I don't know what is). We reached out to Ashburn HVAC to see if they had any openings and they were able to schedule someone to come out the very next day! It was a life saver. The second positive was having our HVAC serviced for it's spring check up with our membership company. They recommended all of these extra costs. We felt a little skeptical so we reached out to Ashburn HVAC again to come out and take a look. They said everything was good and well kept being a newer system. This second interaction solidified it for us to cancel the other company's membership, and to trust Ashburn HVAC moving forward. Quick read: Payam was available for short-notice appointments, provided options to resolve issues, arrived on-time for all visits, and responded quickly to minor post-installation issues. Before the first appointment, I assumed that the entire HVAC system would need to be replaced, as it was 30 years old. Payam did not jump to this conclusion, instead offering to replace the gas valve on the furnace, which appeared to be the current issue. He provided a concise explanation of of the alternative options, associated risks, and guarantees that he would make with each solution. We decided to replace the entire central system, including furnace, condenser, and coils. Again, Payam presented various options with varying capabilities and price points. The installation was excellent, a single-day appointment resulting a system that has run every day since install. The one issue we experienced after install was the furnace failing to start two mornings in a row. Payam came out both days and tightened some of the wiring connections, resolving the issue. We agreed that the connections likely came loose during the first weeks of operation, when the constant vibration of the blower shaking them loose. My furnace and AC would not turn on because the duct smoke detector had broken. Frankly, I had never noticed nor heard of this detector, but it's evidently very important! The first HVAC tech who came quoted a price in the hundreds of dollars to replace the detector, and I was about to go ahead when I checked on the actual price that I would pay...$126! As a retired senior, I looked for another company, and was very lucky to find Ashburn HVAC! Payam gave me a very reasonable quote which included installing a UV light which I really needed. I saved about $900 of money I didn't have; actually, I wouldn't have been able to get the furnace UV light installed by the other company. We received 4 quotes from contractors for new HVAC and furnace, and Payam offered us the best/lowest price. 2 weeks prior to the installation, our old AC stopped generating cold air on a hot day. We assumed Freon was low. Payam offered to stop by on the same day refilling Freon free of charge! When it turned out Freon wasn't the issue, Payam troubleshot the problem for us. With his accurate diagnosis, we were able to get our aging circuit breaker fixed by an electrician, and our old AC was able to keep us cool before the new AC arrives. Payam is the real deal and we had a great experience. When our AC shut off on hot days, we called a different HVAC company and they quoted us over 10k to replace the entire AC system and that was their only offer. We called Payam for a second opinion and he figured out that the Evaporator Coil Box was rusted and leaking freon. He showed us the symptoms and explained how they occurred. We talked it over and he thought the rest of the system had plenty of life left, suggesting to replace just the Evaporator Coil Box. After deciding to do the replacement, there was no trouble getting the part and the installation happened a couple days later. All of the correspondence was quick (less than 24 hours each time, we only reached out on weekdays) and we appreciated that Payam gave us options on how to fix the system. I asked Pam to come over and give me a quote on a new air conditioning system. He came over the same day and talked about the carrier systems he would be able to put in and gave me a rough verbal estimate. He said once it was installed he would not provide any warranty for labor if the system malfunction shortly after installation. Two other companies I called in for estimates both gave me two years labor in addition to the manufacturers 10 year equipment warranty. Then I asked him to email a written quote to me so that I could compare his estimate with the other two contractors. The other two contractors had a quote in writing the first day. This review is for a pre-winter system check. Online scheduling was easy. A bit too easy, so I called the day before to confirm and left a voicemail, and Payam called me back shortly confirming the appointment time. The appointment was for 8 AM on a Monday and at 8:00 his van was in my driveway. Punctuality says a lot about a business, and is always appreciated. The appointment was for a system check before winter and it was straightforward. Payam pointed out some items to keep an eye on, but did not try to upsell or replace parts needlessly. For this reason I opted to sign an annual maintenance contract. Mr. Payam came out and inspected the system, and gave me a number of options ranging from recharging refrigerant to changing the condensing unit outside. My A/C was not cooling. Home warrant sent repairman(YAZD A/C) and he said compressor was shot. I became a little leery of the guy when he had no clue where the filter was on my inside unit so I called to get a second opinion from another company. Other company confirmed the compressor was shot. Warranty okayed replacement and it, the compressor was changed out. Fast forward a few days and it's 85 degrees out and unit not working (Did I mention I had to pay $945 for freon) tech comes out this morning and now says the whole unit needs to be replaced? And my home warranty won't cover the work they have to do as it's a modification and will cost me $345. I'm looking again for a second opinion before I pour any more money down this rabbit hole. Update: Payam came to the rescue. He checked the system and although it was running fine it was still not cooling. He went to my unit in the basement and noticed (For lack of a better word since I had no idea what the thing did) no water in a Gizmo on the floor. He added water and told me to give the A/C a couple of hours and text if it still was not cooling and he'd stop back by later in the day at no charge. I'll be damned if the house was cooled of back to it's set 72 degrees within 90 minutes. Best $90 bucks I've ever spent. Changed my home warranty company so I can choose my own repairmen and Payam got all my business from here on in. read more
