I don't know if anybody can help me or direct me on what to do next. Shasta Pools built my pool in 2018. It was a absolute nightmare. I'm not going to go into detail, but they screwed a lot of things up and then just give me some free Leslie pool coupons to try and make up for it. The workers that they had on my property were making inappropriate sexual comments about me and saying I must be a stripper and that's how I was able to pay for my pool...Whatever....Well my fence fell down and I have been calling them for the last month begging them to come and fix it. I had called someone not related to Shasta to come and fix and they said that it was not installed properly, when I finally was able to talk to someone yesterday they told me I am out of warranty. I am reporting them to the city and I am outraged. My fence would have not fallen down if they had concrete in the post but because they did not do that I now do not have a pool fence and I have a two year-old and a five-year-old. I have literally cried to them on the phone explaining how dangerous this is for my children. I do not have the money to buy a new pool fence. Can anyone guide me on what I should do next? read more

Shasta Pools is by far the worst pool company in Arizona. Do not use them to build or refurbish your pool. Communication is difficult. The service department is will only provide a technician for $140 charge. I asked a question that any pool technician should be able to answer and they will only send a technician. The phone operator has zero knowledge of how pool equipment works. She told me it's normal for a pump to run at 3400 RPM I had to correct her. She then said it must be something wrong with the water feature nozzles. I then told her it's just a nozzle there are no moving parts on a nozzle. Ma'am it is a pump problem and any tech can tell me how to set it up with a phone call! Obviously she was just a phone human phone answering machine so I thanked her and ended the call. Both times I reached out, they couldn't have yelled louder that they didn't care to have me as a customer. The first time was over a warranty item, ok warranties don't transfer so fair but offered no help other than saying warranties don't transfer but this last time when they refused to share the design of the pool to insure I do not dig up pool equipment on a backyard addition I am working on was surprising. One year after remodel... Pool still looks great and we're very pleased with investment. Nothing but positive comments on our project supervisor, Gary Vasko. He was always available for questions and any concerns we had. Project finished on time. Since then, Gary has been an important resource for us when anything requiring attention arises. Even with a lifetime warranty, getting things done can be difficult. Gary has always been our next call and he's able to resolve each issue within a day. Great planning experience but that's it, so many things went wrong, I chose shasta for their years in the business but i regret it. I caught a lot of errors even though there were plans and project managers, my pool light only works for 1/3 of the pool. The companies they use for excavation are corrupt and fabricated a " difficult dig" and had to pay $8000 out of pocket on top of the $65,000 i paid to shasta. Pros: Salesman was very detailed and explained the process very well. The pool package was very comprehensive with a lot of great features that help keep the pool clean. At the show room the design options and coordinator were great. The end result and pool looks great. Cons: We were told our pool would be ready in estimated 3 months from the time we signed until completion. It took 7 months to complete the job and we had to have the landscaping company come back to fix the artificial turf. Multiple calls and waiting for more than a month to have them come to review. We received multiple quotes and other landscapers mentioned the need to either add a screen to our big window or not have grass so close to the window to avoid grass to burn during hot summer months. We mentioned this to the Shasta landscaping designer and were told we were far away enough. We just found out after installed that is not the case so now we need to add a screen (I originally didn't want as it limits visibility.)Last but not least our Project manager was tracking our payments and told us we were paid in full by the time our pool was completed, to later find out that was not the case and that we still owed 2k two months later. I reviewed the contract and it was correct but point is we were communicated payments were all received and paid to then be surprised months later. read more

I had an absolutely amazing experience with Shasta from start to finish and couldn't recommend them enough. The design process started with Chris where he was beyond helpful in getting me to the design I loved as well as explaining all of my options across the board thoroughly. He made everything very easy in terms of making sure I understood the different options in order to make the decision making process even easier. Once the project was released, I began working with Andrew and Monica. Again, I can't say enough good things about these two. Not only were they both extremely efficient and timely with checking statuses and scheduling stages, they both were great communicators. When Andrew came out to the house, he always let me know and was never bothered by me going out to ask questions. He was always very clear in setting expectations and preparing me for what was next. As for Monica, she was so on top of everything and never missed a single update. I always knew what the next step was and who to expect. She kept things moving along so quickly and blew my expectations out of the water. Shasta knows what they are doing. From friends in other states that have put in pools, I went into the process a little wary that I would need to micromanage. I did not have to do anything of the sort. Shasta pools have the big boy attitude. Since we are Shasta pools we don't have to worry about customer service our name carries enough weight. We have had several scheduling issues with the installation of our pool. Our salesman literally told me once he gets the contract signed he was not part of anything beyond the signing of the contract. Guess he does not want repeat business. The communication between Shasta team and us is very disappointing. Scheduling has been a nightmare. I hope the pools live up to the Shasta hype because dealing with their team has not been worth it. I really liked the guy I worked with when designing the pool. He responded to my emails in a timely manner and kept in contact throughout the process. However, once the pool was completed-all goodwill ended. 2 years later and they are trying to tell me I still owe them a thousand dollars, yet you have to complete the final payment before they will complete the pool. Despite proof sent of all payments from me with dates from my bank, they still continue to threaten legal action. My pool vac broke and because of my "outstanding debt" they refuse to honor the warranty to fix it. Now the warranty has passed and they are still telling me I owe them, yet refusing to fix the part. After all of the delays and hassle working through COVID, our project completed in September. Our purchase packet included start up and balance. It took Shasta over a month from fill to show up for the chemical balance. Maybe timing played a bigger role in our build but I can't say it was a good experience. I have to give tremendous consideration to Paul and our sales guy James. Our pool is GREAT. Our in pool cleaning, heat pump, pool pump, cyclone work in perfect coordination. Very low maintenance I'm very happy with our end product and must acknowledge my expectations were just too high. I would definitely recommend Shasta just recognize expectations. read more

Our Shasta pool was completed a couple months ago after an almost 2year process. Many challenges along the way and honestly at times it was extremely frustrating. A little more than halfway through the project we were graced with Nina Nason as my coordinator and Daniel Moreno as our superintendent. It was a game changer for us. Not that everything went perfect but at least now we felt like Shasta was starting to care and were working to get it done. Nina was excellent to work with and was diligent with follow up calls and scheduling. A very class act. As our superintendent Daniel took a personal interest in our project turning out well and was very responsive to phone calls or text if I needed to understand something. Given their work load we felt they were a good team. Overall, I would give Shasta the company 2 stars and Daniel and Nina 5 stars as employees and hope the best for them. read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever! Worst communication I have ever experience with a contractor of any type. They removed our gate for the dig, tried to have us agree to a $7,000 change order (17% of total price), when we denied the additional amount, they left, did not replace the gate, gate blew away in the wind storm, hit the gas meter and broke. Still have zero communication with them so I am going to another company for our pool. Only Chose Shasta because of their "name" in the industry. HUGE Mistake!!! Stay away from this company!!! Took possession of a home with a 1996 built Shasta pool. Yep and old pool. I quickly learned that the pool was leaking about 14,000 gallons a month. Upon professional leak detector, who is well known in Phoenix and does a great job, I was told that pool has "been leaking from the first day they filled it." Something about how they finished the piping coming into the pool. 25 years of leaking. I then went ahead and totally remodeled the entire pool, as it was leaking in several other spots, due to old age in most cases. Like the foundation cracks and other piping issues into the pool and spa. After spending $10,000s to fix the pool and remove all the faux rocks that were built with the pool and the oddly designed side of the pool (which is a technique they no longer use), I called Shasta to replace the pop-up pool cleaners that have a "Lifetime Warranty." Yep you guess it. They wont stand behind that product, since I am not the "original owner." Why is it called lifetime? I suggested they change it to Limited Lifetime Warranty. The average home owner stays in a home 8 years. Maybe a 5-10 year Warranty would be appropriate. But that does not sound as good as "Lifetime". If you are planning on building a pool, there are a bunch of good pool companies to use in Arizona. As a long time Phoenix resident, it seems that every time I hear of a pool company that does not focus on their customers, its always Shasta. I wish they built this pool correctly in 1996, it would have saved me $10,000s. My husband and I signed contract with Chris (which we found out he is no longer with Shasta. He was great to work with) on the 1st of July 2020. Everything was going great until they got the permits. We had to keep calling to see what's going on and when will they start on our pool. All we got was in a few weeks. A few weeks went by and we had to call again with the same message a few weeks. They called one day and told us they would have someone come by and layout the pool for review and approval. A few weeks later we again had to call them to see when they were going to get started. All we got was we are on the schedule and they would let us know. A few weeks later we again called and they were still waiting for them to schedule. We were getting ready to go out of town and we get a call they would be at our house to dig tomorrow (nothing like giving us a few days notice). Once the pool was dugout a few weeks went by and had to call to see why no work is being done. This has been going on since the beginning. We now have rebar, electrical, equipment and piping. It's now over a month and still no more progress. The only answer we get is we're still in line but they cannot tell me when the shot Crete will be completed. We email and call weekly and all we got was we are on the schedule. Yesterday we drove to Shasta and my husband talked to Chris Woods (manager), he told me him he would check into the problem and have an answer today, haha. We did not receive a call or email. I worked with Craig Miller and his technician Ray. They installed a pool heater and remote control system. I couldn't be happier with my choice of going with Shasta. First of all, Craig came out next day when I asked for a quote. This was in the middle of the pandemic and another company I contacted didn't even want to come out at all and just asked me to send pictures. Craig knew exactly what I needed to control the pool remotely. He has experience with it and didn't try to oversell me a system with bells and whistles I would not need. Ray was very good at getting the system installed and explained to me how to operate it. Best of all, when the we had a problem with the water heater 8 month later, Craig was extremely responsive and Ray came out the next day and fixed it (it was just a blown fuse). Craig also went above and beyond helping me to troubleshoot a connectivity issue that ended up being a server problem at Pentair. We love our remote system and highly recommend Craig Miller and his technician Ray at Shasta. read more

I would give this company a negative star rating if I could. We signed a contract on March 2 and all we have is a hole in the ground with rusted rebar, pipes and grass growing on the bottom. Shasta put the plumbing in over 2 months ago, but they put the equipment in the middle of the yard instead of against the fence like we wanted. Well over 2 months have gone by and nothing has been done to fixed it. Everything came to a halt. We were promised a pool by 6 months and here we are starting on month 9 . My biggest complaint is there's absolutely no communication with the construction team. I have emailed and called many times over several months with no responses what's so ever. I have already spent a lot of money on a pool that's just a hole in the ground. We went from being really excited about a pool, to not even wanting it. read more

They told me it would take 8-10 weeks and they were right! I love that they don't constantly "upsell" you after they start digging and the yard is a mess. The teaming method they use is really good. I had an inside project manager who called me almost daily with schedule updates and what to expect next, a field project leader (who I only saw twice) but I think he came through to triple check "subs" at all steps of the project. Even when my salesperson quit the company they smoothly moved me over to a new person who (Chris) who was superb. Overall I gave them an A. And I highly recommend Shasta.
