Are the hours listed online correct? I have heard a lot about their cinnamon bun pancakes but sadly I haven't been able to try them. I have shown up 2 weekends in a row 1.5 hours before the listed closing time but they were closed. One time I saw the staff cleaning up an hour and a half earlier.... I don't understand!! My daughter got strawberry, filled French toast and ate the entire plate which was huge and she never does and I got a super cheesesteak that was equally as delicious fresh roll and freshen Being new to the area, I was unaware that this was a cash only place. We stopped by for breakfast before going onward on our adventure, the food was amazing, service was awesome as well. It is your normal old school diner that is always a good thing. The only issue was that the guy in charge of the kitchen area was very demeaning to the rest of the help to the point that he drove one server to end up in tears. She was great and I made sure to tip her well as she was amazing. Saddening that the cook was so demeaning to the rest of the staff. Cozy place for breakfast with lots of regulars. They fully accommodated a dairy allergy in our party. Big portions and the kitchen is basically in the restaurant so you can see it being prepared. Only 5 staff working - 2 waitresses, a chef, a dishwasher and someone working prep. There are two u-shaped counters and a handful of tables. The pancakes are delicious and huge - truly plate sized. I just had breakfast at Sharon's Place and had a horrible service experience. You only get one napkin and no refills unless you chase down your waitress to get more. They ONLY take cash which is a HUGE inconvenience for the customers. Their register machine broke down when I went to pay and two waitresses were almost fighting against each other and pressing all the bottoms of that machine to make it work. Very stressful situation for a $23 breakfast. I felt extremely uncomfortable and went back to my table. When I finally got my change back, the waitress brought a $5 bill, a $1 bill and some coins. No singles to force me to leave a $5 dollar bill for tip. HORRIBLE PLACE AND DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL. read more

Hungry family just wants to eat some breakfast but this wasn't the case at "Sharon's" We waited 20 mins to get drinks, 35 mins for creamer for my coffee and by that time my coffee was ice cold. I had to walk up to the counter and ask for another coffee and the creamer I never got. The waitress then had an attitude after that and was not friendly after that. Then, as we wait for our food, multiple couples and families coming in and out getting their drinks and food and leaving and we still didn't get our food. We got here at 11:45 and it's currently 1:16 and still did not receive our food. Not to mention the closed at 1:00. Horrible experience! Do not recommend for anyone!! Waste of time! read more

GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND CHECK TNIS PLACE OUT. This little gem is not 5 minutes from 81. I had the blueberry stuffed French Texas toast. It was delicious. The filling was light and creamy, not heavy and cold like I've experienced with other filled French toast. Fresh blueberries too. Hubby had a ham and cheese omelet with home fries, also yummy. The home fries had just the right amount of flat top crisp. We will have to remember this place when traveling through Pennsylvania. read more

Stopped in for breakfast after church. It was crowded but found an empty table. The staff was super nice, and prices were reasonable especially considering the portions! Since it was so busy had to wait a bit for the food. Order came with two scrambled eggs (what you would expect... nothing extraordinary), a generous portion of home fries (yummy and piping hot), 4 pieces of bacon, and 2 pieces of toast. My only complaint was the bacon definitely could have been crispier... it was almost rubbery because I needed a few more minutes. Others had the pancakes which were huge... definitely going to try them on my next visit. read more

Are they still open? We stopped here Saturday morning when hours here, on Google, and on their Facebook page said they'd be open. It was closed and there was a Christmas tree up. Another recent reviewer said they'd tried two different weekends and they were closed both times. Other reviews are great, would love to try the place if it is ever open. read more

Stopped by here on a road trip to grab a quick breakfast. We were able to call ahead and have our order ready for take out. The service we received was incredibly friendly and even though we were just breezing through we still felt the nice hometown/local vibes. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches with ham / sausage and they did not disappoint. They're served on a fluffy kaiser roll and loaded with egg and cheese. This is the friendliest place in this area! And the food is delicious too!!! My husband and I travel from Pittsburgh to Hartford at least 4 times a year. This year we made the trip about 7-8 times. We typically leave Pittsburgh in the evening and travel to Wilkes Barre. Then finish the ride the next morning. We happened to find "Sharon's Place" on one of our trips and now we always make a point to have breakfast here. We have come to feel like one of the many"locals" that frequent her Diner because even tho we have only been there a few times we have been made to feel like family! It has been quite some time since i was back in Scranton visiting. I was hankering for a good breakfast and came across Sharon's Place. I got there Sunday AM about 930 and it was almost full, which in my opinion, is a fantastic sign. If the place is full of locals, you know you are in a great place! Breakfast seems to be their jam (pun intended) and the menu shows that. Basic eggs/homefries but also options for the vegan and those who choose a healthier palet. There looks to be a good lunch menu too. I bellied up to the bar and was immediately acknowledged. The staff was humping, kids! There are two separate counters where you can view the cook doing his/her thing. All of it looked great, but i decided on basic eggs/home fries (never hash browns) and ham. Forewarned: the pancakes are literally the size of the plate - PLATECAKE! I only saw that during my travels to Kansas and love it. Everyone was enjoying the food and I cannot verbally explain how hard the staff was working. Three servers, a couple bus folk, back kitchen staff were all working in a fine orchestrated dance. I was there for about an hour and there was never an empty table. I so enjoyed both food (perfect eggs, awesome home fries and that platecake... superb! and all for about $12!). Hats off to the staff and management. Everyone who can, needs to support this business. It is located between a bakery and a formal wear shop (?!) in a semi industrial area. Second time trying this place. Left the first time after waiting 45 minutes for coffee that never came and watching people who came after us be served their coffee and their meals. Same thing today. We had hope since we sat right up front and were actually served coffee. Now we're sitting here watching other people be served who came in way after us. How does this place stay open? The menu is tiny, staff handles everything from food to money to cleaning up without gloves or washing in between. If you're going to use frozen spinach when it's the main ingredient in the dish, know that cooking it won't get rid of the freezer burn. I ordered a spinach and feta omelet and had to scrape off the spinach. Also, nothing like hearing the "We're very busy this morning" as a half-hearted apology. This is a diner - it's not your first day, or your first rush. Get it together. People are just excited over the size of their pancakes. Find a better reason. Forget this dump. read more
