The food was ok. Small place, that a lot of locals visit. They have 6 tables that seat 4 people and 2 tables near the window that sit 2 people. There is counter space to sit. The prices were good. Our bill was under $20 for two people. You have to ask for the home fries well done. The reviews on here about the "plate cake" are true. This is a cash only place. read more

What a great local restaurant for breakfast! Forget the suit and tie, dress for comfort and try to get a table. If the tables are full, screw up your courage and grab a seat at the counter. Everyone knows everyone, and if you are a visitor, you will too if you care to chat. Great food, especially the pancakes (the size of a dinner plate) and the omelets are superb. Think "Cheers" but for breakfast and without the booze. We loved it. read more

We found thus place here in Yelp while visiting to see a SWB baseball game. Looking for a good but inexpensive breakfast to feed a man and 2 teen boys. We found a fantastic place. The neighborhood is a bit industrial so that could give someone pause, but the atmosphere was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. My youngest had the pancake and raved over it. The only "problem" was that he couldn't finish it! My older was pretty happy about that because he did and loved it too. The egg sandwiches were HUGE. Totally filling and delicious. I asked for my home fries well done and they came owefect My youngest liked it so much he gave an extra tip to the waitress! This place is a must go to in town! read more

Great little place pancakes were real fluffy and the eggs were perfect over lite. My wife had the sausage gravy on biscuits and she loved it. If we come back next year will eat here again. read more

Are the hours listed online correct? I have heard a lot about their cinnamon bun pancakes but sadly I haven't been able to try them. I have shown up 2 weekends in a row 1.5 hours before the listed closing time but they were closed. One time I saw the staff cleaning up an hour and a half earlier.... I don't understand!! I guess I'm giving up on trying to make it there for weekend brunch. read more

A great breakfast location near downtown. Must try pancakes, largest on the planet and great tasting. Some of the friendliest people who love their jobs. Great prices and quick service. Strong fresh coffee. read more

Very good food and service. Good workers very efficient and nice pleasant people to always help you

Not the most ascetically pleasing place in the world, but they sure know how to cook breakfast!! The pancakes are so ginormous and fluffy, the bacon is crispy and the home fries are crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle. We love this place a whole brunch. read more

Nice diner feel. Great atmosphere. People of Scranton are super nice. My fiancé/wife came here to get married (because of The Office). This was a recommended spot for breakfast and we were not disappointed. It was crowded and that affected the attentiveness of the wait staff. But that was okay because they were still great. I would come here again if I lived close by. read more

Sharon's Place - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Scranton, Pennsylvania

Cozy place for breakfast with lots of regulars. They fully accommodated a dairy allergy in our party. Big portions and the kitchen is basically in the restaurant so you can see it being prepared. Only 5 staff working - 2 waitresses, a chef, a dishwasher and someone working prep. There are two u-shaped counters and a handful of tables. The pancakes are delicious and huge - truly plate sized. I ordered two but could only finish one. Party of 3 ate for $25 including a generous tip. read more

Just what I needed. Good coffee good service and a fabulous omelet. Cash only though, luckily there's an ATM in the restaurant.

Great local diner, Sunday morning a few weeks ago when I was there it was full of mostly local residents. The food was fresh and tasty. Cash only but there is an ATM inside. read more

Food was absolutely delicious. My daughter got strawberry, filled French toast and ate the entire plate which was huge and she never does and I got a super cheesesteak that was equally as delicious fresh roll and freshen Being new to the area, I was unaware that this was a cash only place. Instead of being upset, she told us not to worry about it and didn't charge us for anything. I was shocked. Needless to say, I will be going here with my daughter a lot. Thank you for the delicious food and your generosity.. read more

We stopped by for breakfast before going onward on our adventure, the food was amazing, service was awesome as well. It is your normal old school diner that is always a good thing. The only issue was that the guy in charge of the kitchen area was very demeaning to the rest of the help to the point that he drove one server to end up in tears. She was great and I made sure to tip her well as she was amazing. Saddening that the cook was so demeaning to the rest of the staff. I wanted to take him outback and teach him a lesson in respect. read more

GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND CHECK TNIS PLACE OUT. This little gem is not 5 minutes from 81. I had the blueberry stuffed French Texas toast. It was delicious. The filling was light and creamy, not heavy and cold like I've experienced with other filled French toast. Fresh blueberries too. Hubby had a ham and cheese omelet with home fries, also yummy. The home fries had just the right amount of flat top crisp. We will have to remember this place when traveling through Pennsylvania. read more

Great, friendly service. Full of obviously regular customers, but staff and customers were all very friendly to the Texas boy. The Flynn frittata was excellent. Highly recommend. read more

The food and service were great! FYI They don't take credit cards, but they do have an ATM in the restaurant.

Stopped in for breakfast after church. It was crowded but found an empty table. The staff was super nice, and prices were reasonable especially considering the portions! Since it was so busy had to wait a bit for the food. Order came with two scrambled eggs (what you would expect... nothing extraordinary), a generous portion of home fries (yummy and piping hot), 4 pieces of bacon, and 2 pieces of toast. My only complaint was the bacon definitely could have been crispier... it was almost rubbery because I needed a few more minutes. Others had the pancakes which were huge... definitely going to try them on my next visit. read more

This place is on target . Their food always comes out home and fresh . All homemade lunch specials. It very reasonable and super clean.

I just had breakfast at Sharon's Place and had a horrible service experience. You only get one napkin and no refills unless you chase down your waitress to get more. They ONLY take cash which is a HUGE inconvenience for the customers. Their register machine broke down when I went to pay and two waitresses were almost fighting against each other and pressing all the bottoms of that machine to make it work. Very stressful situation for a $23 breakfast. I felt extremely uncomfortable and went back to my table. When I finally got my change back, the waitress brought a $5 bill, a $1 bill and some coins. No singles to force me to leave a $5 dollar bill for tip. HORRIBLE PLACE AND DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL. read more

Great food Great atmosphere. Great prices Be careful if you order a full stack of pancakes. You might need assistance walking out of the restaurant. Strong recommend read more

Hungry family just wants to eat some breakfast but this wasn't the case at "Sharon's" We waited 20 mins to get drinks, 35 mins for creamer for my coffee and by that time my coffee was ice cold. I had to walk up to the counter and ask for another coffee and the creamer I never got. The waitress then had an attitude after that and was not friendly after that. Then, as we wait for our food, multiple couples and families coming in and out getting their drinks and food and leaving and we still didn't get our food. We got here at 11:45 and it's currently 1:16 and still did not receive our food. Not to mention the closed at 1:00. Horrible experience! Do not recommend for anyone!! Waste of time! read more

Are they still open? We stopped here Saturday morning when hours here, on Google, and on their Facebook page said they'd be open. It was closed and there was a Christmas tree up. Another recent reviewer said they'd tried two different weekends and they were closed both times. Other reviews are great, would love to try the place if it is ever open. read more

Stopped by here on a road trip to grab a quick breakfast. We were able to call ahead and have our order ready for take out. The service we received was incredibly friendly and even though we were just breezing through we still felt the nice hometown/local vibes. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches with ham / sausage and they did not disappoint. They're served on a fluffy kaiser roll and loaded with egg and cheese. We will definitely swing back by on our return trip for another delicious meal and cup of joe. read more

A truly hometown, locals, hole in the wall diner. I wanted to like the place but it was just uncomfortable. Sat at the bar stool, eventually got waited on...when the food came it was just ok. The potatoes had a strange flavor and the cheese in the eggs was sad. Two stars for good coffee and good price. read more

This is a decent gap in-the-divider café unmistakably adored by local people, and brimming with character and nearby appeal. The Cinni-bun flapjack was perilously delectable (DO NOT put syrup on it! It needn't bother with it), and I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in Scranton! read more

This is the friendliest place in this area! And the food is delicious too!!! My husband and I travel from Pittsburgh to Hartford at least 4 times a year. This year we made the trip about 7-8 times. We typically leave Pittsburgh in the evening and travel to Wilkes Barre. Then finish the ride the next morning. We happened to find "Sharon's Place" on one of our trips and now we always make a point to have breakfast here. We have come to feel like one of the many"locals" that frequent her Diner because even tho we have only been there a few times we have been made to feel like family! And the food is sooo delicious too!! Definitely a win win Diner!!!! Thanks to all the employees at Sharons for filling our bellies with a warm delicious meal and a warm and friendly atmosphere. See you again on the next trip! read more

After leaving another establishment because of the bad service and lack of certain menu items, we came across this place. The staff was super friendly, and the place was very clean. Travelled from NH and the home fries and cinnabun pancake were out of this world. Came here twice in two separate months and had to make a stop here to eat. So glad we stopped here! If you're just traveling through it is definitely worth a small side trip. The place was very busy...for good reason! It was delicious! Portions were generous, staff was friendly. If you get easily offended by cuss words then maybe go somewhere else because I did hear a couple slip out. It all adds to the experience though, we didn't mind one bit! Would definitely return when passing through again. Thank you for a great breakfast! read more
