Sharon was incredible from day one . my house is far out on the top of the mountains and the service i got was as if I lived in downtown! she took several trips to take exact measurements, nothing in my kitchen is standard, exposed beams, very high ceilings , many windows in the backsplash area and her design was absolutely stunning, very high quality materials and finishes , she even selected the perfect doors and drawers handles , she understood me better then I understood my self ! After the storm last winter, we had to replace most of the fences around our property. I got a quote from different contractors, and Guy from Sharon Stone stood out. He was pleasant to work with and could work around our neighbor's scheduling requirements(We have four different neighbors around my property and an HOA) Work quality is superb, and the work was done professionally and quickly; within a week, we had over 150 feet of fence worked out to all neighbors' satisfaction. The fence gate looks nice and of high quality; all materials are PSTD hard red wood with 4x6 studs. It seems sturdy, and I am confident it will last many years. To summarize, scheduling was easy. Initially Sharon gave us a reasonable quote among the several companies we shopped around. During templating and design, her crew very patiently explained all the options we have for layout and we were able to choose a design solution that we are really satisfied. On the installation date, her crew showed up on time and did a beautiful job. More than one year after job completion, one seam between two slabs becomes slightly more obvious. This is due to domino effect which to our understanding is very common in Bay area. Sharon acted quickly and send her crew within the same week to fix the seam. Terrible! This review is long overdue. I got my bathroom remodeled in 2019 and it was a nightmare! We had quality and installation issues with lighting, custom cabinet, tiling..etc. Also, it was very expensive. I had to pay for everything separately. He asked us to pay some of it in cash. Guy is very outgoing and as long as you don't complain and keep paying him, he will promise you the moon. Otherwise he gets argumentative and will say things that are not true. For instance, he installed the shower head so low that it was right on top of my head. He said this was up to standard. Also, when he installed recessed lighting for dining room, he said it was included in the permit for bathroom. I actually called the city and the lights were not included in the bath permit! Sharon was lovely to work with. We had a custom cabinet done for bathroom, but the inside was cracked when they installed the handles. Luckily, I talked to her And we were able to get a refund. Despite her, however, I would not recommend this company. I am sure if he responds to this review, he will blame us but I documented everything. read more

Overall, Guy, Sharon and their team did a great job! I recommend them and will hire them for future projects. Guy is very responsive to questions and requests. We never felt as if he left us hanging. His workers are punctual and used to show up at 8 am every day. Sharon helped us with our design choices for tiles and the stone for the vanity countertop. I don't write reviews, but I'm surprised to see 5 stars for Sharon Stone Design and I feel compelled to write a review due to poor work quality and the need to fix a lot of things on the project myself. This was a small project to accommodate a large fridge, consisting of extending a wall, painting, moving an electrical outlet/some plumbing work and installing new baseboard and wood panels/trim/crown molding for a tight built-in fridge look. Below are the main issues: *** Painting *** Painting felt like it was done by an amateur. Multiple issues: 1) No painter's tape to keep clean lines, paint on the ceiling. It was annoying for my wife to be asked during the painting for ceiling paint so they could touch it up. 2) Tarp only covered part of the floor, resulting in dripped paint on hardwood floor. When my wife brought it up, the worker said it wasn't a problem. 3) They didn't take the cover off an electrical outlet to paint, resulting in several inches around the cover with the old color. It looked very noticeable and bad. 4) Paint not left to dry between coats. They kept applying coats and, when asked, they brushed it off saying it dries quickly. One side of the wall showed splotchy texture afterwards. There were several visible spots where they did not paint the texture well and the under color showed through. I didn't press this point, since the worst parts were going behind the fridge anyway, but still not good. When I brought these things up, Guy was very dismissive. I came to realize that he describes many things as "easy to fix, no problem." This was frustrating on two levels: 1) Newly completed work shouldn't need "fixing." We're paying for a professional job and expect quality work. 2) Guy never acknowledged a problem with the work done. He came off dismissive and unconcerned, because in his view it was an easy fix. After multiple tries, it was clearly not possible to converse with him in terms of work quality; he only looked at it in terms of the amount of effort needed to fix it. Guy ended up saying he "wouldn't bring his guys over anymore, because he doesn't want any problems." Without ever acknowledging the poor quality painting, this makes it seem like my wife and I are the ones causing problems! My wife ended up painting and fixing it up herself. *** Wood trim install *** The fridge was installed by another crew and it was time to put the wood trimming around it. Surprisingly, Guy came with his previous worker, despite saying he wouldn't bring others anymore. This wood work required precise cutting of pieces. They seemed to be careful and took their time to cut pieces to size. The first panel went up and looked ok at first. Guy was pleased with it and said it looks "perfect." Upon closer look, I noticed the panel was not straight and bowing towards the floor. Unfortunately I had to be the one to notice this and it was only after most of the wood trim had been done. At this point it was not an easy fix. They had to adjust it by applying a lot of pressure with a crowbar. A lot of wood creaking and cracking sounds. Visually the panel is ok, but not great for its integrity. After they left, I noticed another problem: the panel was not coming out from the wall at a right angle and was noticeably angled. By this point I wasn't going to call them back, but it's very exhausting to have to double-check all their work because I simply cannot trust their quality. After all, a bowing and angled panel was deemed "perfect." For the crown molding, it was stapled in. I don't know anything about installing crown molding, but it looked very bad after install. There were many visible holes from the staples and one edge had been banged up, removing the stained layer. When I asked about the holes, Guy said I should have received putty/wood stain from the store. No problem though, I'm told, I can go back to the cabinet store, get it and do it myself. This was annoying because: 1) I didn't know I needed putty/stain to begin with; Guy never mentioned it when he told us to go pick up the wood trim originally. 2) I now have to spend time going to the store and do this work. 3) Guy was fine leaving the crown molding as-is and letting me take care of it. This was another "easy fix." *** Baseboard *** The baseboard was installed and left with a noticeable crack, which did not fully line up with the existing baseboard. It looks bad, but Guy seemed fine with the result. Again, quality of work/attention to detail missing the mark. *** Conclusion *** This was a really poor experience and I cannot recommend Sharon Stone Design. The work quality was poor, but Guy is dismissive and doesn't see it this way, which means it's unlikely to improve for future customers. Sharon was responsive and nice over phone/text. The price was good relative to other bids, but not worth it, given the poor work quality and the time we spent doing the "easy fixes." read more

I would not recommend even calling this place for a quote because they can't be bothered, apparently, with "small" projects.. because they are too busy (which apparently gives them license to be condescending). Sharon did not even know my budget, but quickly became short with me when she thought i was not going to spend over 12k with them (her random number, i never brought any up), and tried to bully me into giving her a budget within moments of being on the phone. I am not a contractor, the whole point of getting quotes from contractors is to gather information about prices and compare them, not for the customer to tell them how much things will cost. Don't waste your time here- remodeling is already stressful enough, and if you're going to let a stranger into your home they should be humble and respectful about it. read more
