The work was done right and the quality was solid. He was easy to work with and took the time to make sure everything was taken care of. I'd happily hire EJ Home Services again and recommend them to anyone looking for someone dependable. Five stars.

I asked them to install a tankless water heater. The plumber did a fantastic job installing the water heater. Except, as a plumber, he didn't do electric work. He used an extension cord running to the back yard to plug it in, said the job was good and asked for payment. We didn't pay him because the electrical work wasn't finished, nor did we receive the permit as part of the job. The next day, I had to call them about the electrical work. It hadn't been scheduled, and the job had been marked as finished. They did send out an electrician to install the electrical outlet. The work was great. Again, the electrician asked for payment. I reminded them that the permit was still outstanding. The next day, they had my credit card number on file for a different job, and just used that number to charge for the work. But the job wasn't finished. I paid them a good amount of money, that they charged me for to get the permit for the work. For three weeks I have been trying to contact them to finish the work. In the past, you could talk to someone. Now, every time I call, I get a AI service rep that sends me to voice mail. I have left many, many voice mails, and I have never gotten a call back. I did get a call back from Hank, the AI agent, who then again sent me to a voice mail. Honestly, it pains me to say that they are not the same company they were a year ago. And now, for the first time in 20 years, I now need to find a more reliable plumber.

After getting a very high quote from a major plumbing chain, we decided to contact Water Heater…read moreMasters. We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Water Heater Masters. Alex sent our technician, Rojo, who helped install a new 40-gallon gas water heater in our indoor utility closet, and he was incredibly diligent, professional, and efficient from start to finish. Installing a tank in an inside closet can be tricky, but Rojo handled the entire job seamlessly in just 2 hours. He replaced everything with high-quality components, including: * New hot and cold water flex lines * A brand new water shut-off valve * A new gas flex line and sediment trap * Fully reworked earthquake straps (to meet California safety codes) * Properly updated T&P line and venting He also took care of the removal and disposal of our heavy 18 yr old tank, leaving the utility closet completely clean. If you want fair pricing, expert specialized service, and a technician who respects your time and home, call Water Heater Masters and ask for Rojo. Highly recommended!

We were replacing a gas water heater with a hybrid electric heat pump water heater. Generally, this…read moretype of heater costs twice as much (price and installation) as a traditional electric water heater, but costs a lot less to run (and therefore you recoup the additional cost in a few years from lower operating costs). I had a very easy experience getting an on-site quote. I received 3 quotes for this job. 2 quotes, including this one, came in around $7100. I went with a third one at around $6700 (which included an additional mixing valve) and am very happy with my decision. Overall price was not a big part of my decision, but brand of water heater was. After doing some research online, the most recommended brands are AO Smith and Rheem (GE). Both higher quotes were for Navien, which has only been making heat pump water heaters for 1 year, but I was told that it is the most reliable brand. I did not understand how this claim could be made, given how short the duration of evaluation for this product. Even the worst appliances usually work for at least a year. So I requested a quote for AO Smith or Rheem, which I did not get. I'm not sure why my brand request was not honored, but it made me question whether I should go with a company that either has communication issues or maybe some type of deal with Navien that I was not informed about. Many water heater installers are preferred installers of certain brands, which means they can get better pricing, etc. I did not want to be a guinea pig for Navien.

It only occurred when the weather was hot. Basically, only summer afternoons. We had PG&E come out repeatedly and they could not find the source. We spoke with plumbers and other heater repair companies. All of them told us that it was not our heater; that we were wrong about the inconsistency of the smell. That gas leaks are only consistent and would not happen only when it was hot. We were told that we must be wrong. We felt like we were going crazy. Until we called Bay Area Water Heaters and Dave came out (with a whole crew). He took the time to inspect our heater and said yes, this slight gas smell on hot days is something he had heard of. It was likely due to an old valve within the control panel. He walked us through our options but ultimately suggested replacing the entire heater. His team was able to do the job right then and there and at a reasonable rate. It was completed within the hour. And sure enough, no more gas smell in our garage. Dave and his team were amazing and incredibly professional. We will be using this company again.

I had scheduled a service appointment and needed to cancel. I understand that cancellations impact a schedule, so I remained completely calm and polite throughout the conversation and paid their full cancellation fee immediately without hesitation or dispute. Despite complying with their policy right away, the owner became hostile. He lost his temper, raised his voice, and berated me for how much the cancellation hurt his business. A cancellation fee is meant to cover lost time--it is not a license to yell at and lecture paying customers who are speaking respectfully. Handling ordinary business interactions with this level of aggression and emotional volatility is completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise against dealing with an owner who treats customers this way.

I am more that happy with the results. This was a long term project. Ray was my contact and worked with me. They waited for 6 months as I was waiting for rebates to get approved from my utility. The approval came the beginning of July. The crew removed all of the old HVAC and installed the new system. This was just before the recent heat wave, so they worked hard to get it working before it hit. I now know that my old system was a POS. The new system has been excellent. It handled the 100F days without an issue.

I hired IRBIS to replace a cracked undermount bathroom sink in a rental property after a tenant…read moremove-out. My experience with IRBIS was excellent and yes, I would hire them again. IRBIS responded quickly to my Yelp inquiry. Scheduling an estimate with them was quick and easy. I was pleased to learn that they were using the ServiceTitan app which notified me when the technician was on his way and allowed me to track his location and estimated time of arrival in real time. However, I do wonder a bit about the extent to which ServiceTitan is driving their (and other contractors') service pricing. Bek (IRBIS plumbing tech) came out to provide the estimate. He was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. After asking a few questions while he inspected the site conditions, it became clear that he had prior experience with undermount sink installations, which is what I was looking for. During the estimate he recommended that I replace my existing lift rod lever popup, which requires disassembling the popup assembly beneath the sink to clear clogged hair and sludge (which I had done the prior week), to a push (click-clack) pop up. The push pop-up would be easier to maintain since you can simply remove the top cap to clear hair clogs. The estimate took less than a half hour. Bek processed the estimate for the project which I received while he was still at the job site. I had other plumbing subcontractors bid on the project but decided to go with IRBIS for this project due to Bek's experience with undermount sink installations and IRBIS's 1-year warranty on the work. I agreed to the digital estimate (via digital authorization) and Bek returned two days later with his colleague Azat to remove the cracked sink and install the new sink and pop-up. Bek & Azat were professional, courteous, and worked efficiently together. They put booties on before entering the property (Thank You!!), then removed the old sink, installed my owner-supplied replacement sink, replaced my existing lever pop-up with a new push pop-up that matched the finish of my existing faucet, and finally tested for leaks. They left the work area clean and hauled away the old sink. They completed the installation in an hour. The finished installation looks excellent, is easier to maintain, and is leak free so far. The quality of the Bek & Azat's workmanship, communication, and professionalism were outstanding. The one thing prospective customers should be aware of is the pricing. I agreed to pay $983 for a straightforward under mount sink replacement using a sink that I purchased and supplied for the job. There were no unique factors identified during the estimate visit that suggested the job would be anything other than a straightforward removal and replacement for a technician with prior experience removing and installing undermount sinks. My particular situation involved a new tenant who had just moved into the rental unit two days prior, so getting the work completed quickly and efficiently was worth paying a premium. Whether that premium represents good value for others will depend on each customer's unique priorities. Therefore, I would encourage prospective customers to discuss pricing upfront to ensure it aligns with your expectations and budget. My overall experience with IRBIS for this job was excellent given my priorities. Bek and Azat represented IRBIS exceptionally well. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, and customer service made the entire process smooth from start to finish, and I would confidently trust them with future plumbing projects if the price is right for the job.
