Sharetea in general is one of my faves. The tiny location on the ground floor of the Metreon is convenient before or after a movie. Drink quality overall is consistent with other branches, but there are some disadvantages for this particular location: 1. Its pretty easy to order the drinks, but expect to wait a while to get it since they have a numbering system. It'll force you to congregate around the area until your number pops up - so imagine when its busy and they have a backlog. 2. They quickly run out of napkins, which is a minor annoyance. Makes me feel bad to borrow a few from the other food places nearby and hurt their bottom line. Still, a good place overall to quench your thirst after a movie on a hot day. I always grab some milk tea from here before I head in to watch a movie at the Metreon. I just checked out my receipt and am a bit shocked that bf's drink was 4.85 (the QQ Happy Family, filled with a bunch of toppings like pudding, mini pearls, big pearls, red beans) and my plain milk tea with pudding & pearls was 5.25! Each add on is 50 cents. Overall quality is what you expect from Sharetea chain, and usually pretty consistent. My favorites include Winter melon tea, grapefruit green tea, and purple yam ice blended--- there really is something for everyone! You can also vary the sugar level and ice level on most drinks.. Also, they have fivestars loyalty program, so sign up if you'll keep coming back. This is my favorite tea place in the city! Craftea was my #1 before, but darn them for closing down!!! Located conveniently in the Metreon, I tend to grab a drink from here whenever I find myself downtown. $4-$5 is definitely pricey, but at least it's a large cup. My favorite is the winter melon with lemon. I would go with 50% sweetness or less with the drinks here. They seem to have a heavy hand with the syrup/sugar! Ordered through Grubhub twice now. I always get the mango green tea creama and it hasn't disappointed. We also ordered a second drink and it was different each time but both times it was good even though it was supposed to be the same drink both times. Overall it was a good experience as there is barely anyone in the Metreon right now during Covid times. The only other place that looks to be open is the poki place. Overpriced but the closest boba to my office. $5. I finally stepped out of my comfort zone of jasmine milk tea... because they don't even have that on the menu, and tried a matcha red bean milk tea. 50% sweetness, regular ice. I CHUGGED that drink, it was so damn good. But alas, all the beans were stuck on the bottom. Also, to me, my standard of regular ice in boba is Quickly where they put in a few cubes that QUICKLY melt away. Sharetea tends to have a Starbucks standard where 3/4 of the cup is ice. I came here a couple days ago and finally decided to drop in a review. I found out about this place very recently - I'd guess that they're new in the Metreon location. I tried a couple of their milk teas. The classic milk tea, Okinawa, Hokkaido, and honey. My experience so far was great. I could taste the tea base flavor and the boba was like any other; just right. I have to admit that this is one of the best milk tea locations I've been to so far. I mean, the Yerba Buena Gardens is right outside. You can enjoy the nice setting while drinking milk tea! I did a pick up for my son's graduation last Friday. I'm glad they were prompt and the drinks were ready. I'm also happy they're open. So happy to have bubble tea to celebrate a special occasion. Mall kiosk boba is not good. They rarely get good chains in those stands, and the rush is uncontrollable. Sharetea is a nip above the rest, but still easy to shrug off. Simply put: the boba is mushy, the tea flavor could be stronger, and it's not impressive. At 80% sweetness (my preference), it's still way too sweet to snack on due to the abundance of honey tossed with the boba. My oolong milk tea was a tad watery. They have all the traditional drinks and toppings, including jellies, egg pudding, and popping boba. It's easy to satisfy a kid here, given how sweet their drinks are and the colorful variety in flavors. Just be patient and let the organized intake line flow. Sharetea's outgoing line is more of a mob than anything line-like. They put out drinks in batches, so the mob waiting disperses in waves. It'd probably be better if they had it all flowing out in a stream, to avoid congestion. There's limited seating available directly next to Sharetea. You can connect to Metreon wifi...or you can enjoy a beautiful day out on the greenery instead. You know, when Karl the Fog doesn't roll in. read more

One thing I will say about boba in the city is that prices are always slightly higher but honestly the boba is still good and convenient since it's in the Metreon and they have curbside pickup! This is the closest boba shop to my office and so is really easy to stop into and grab a quick drink somewhere in the middle of my work day. As a very traditional boba shop, they have like a million options here to choose from and so it's easy to get lost when you first walk in here. The large drink pictures on the wall help though. Personally I don't usually like the milk teas because they mislead you into thinking that you'll get actual milk. But that's pretty normal at most boba shops. Just switch to Fresh milk series instead if you have a problem. But most people won't know that. What really stood out for me here were the Creama drinks since they had a much richer flavor. I'm basically addicted to the green tea with creama and oolong tea with Creama. One complaint I have is that they only iffer a single large size. My sister in law introduced us to this place since we were visiting. There was a line to order drinks, but it didn't take too long perhaps 15 min or so? It gave us enough time to decide what we wanted to drink. I ordered the Mango Green Tea with crema. My husband stuck a straw in and was confused on why they handed him a plastic knife. I couldn't figure it out at that moment therefore I naturally just tossed it. Halfway through sipping the refreshing and tasty tea, I realized that I wasn't getting any of the crema. Then my light bulb came on. You don't sip this baby with a stinking STRAW! You cut slits into and drink it through the slits. After I made my own holes with the straw on the side and sipped it through there, my taste buds were having a party. The crema is salty and sweet and mixed with the tea was just utter heaven! I'm just glad I figured out the whole thing before I finished. My husband ordered the QQ Happy Family milk tea. It was yummy and there were so many things in it, it was hard to tell what all was in it. But it was enjoyable chewing everything. It definitely is a happy family in that cup of tea. Oh Sharetea, my love for you is slowly diminishing. When they first opened, I was so happy. The location was an ideal walking distance from the office. You would order, wait maybe 5 minutes and walk back satisfied with your purchase. Before them, I did not even know what a winter melon was. Oh what a wonderful discovery. These days ordering anything here takes some serious dedication. You have to really want it. Today I had to wait 5 minutes to order and then 20 minutes, yes indeed twen-ty minutes on my drink. During these twenty minutes, I started to calculate the satisfaction after boba to the annoyance while waiting ratio and realized it was not worth it. Meanwhile, the crowd around me started growing and started to resemble an angry mob. The amount of sighing and mumbling around me brought back memories of the DMV. Got the wintermelon tea and homemade taro milk. The wintermelon tea was good, however I think I prefer the wintermelon crema. Without the crema it's a bit simple, but with it makes the whole drink have much more variety. When you need something sweet, drink the tea, when you want more savory, go for the crema part. The taro milk has taro chunks which are nice. It's a bit colder than I wish it was, I think they make this a pretty cold drink. I've been to Sharetea a few times. It's all about location location location. They are inside the Metreon so it's super convenient which explains their markup in prices. It's not cheap but they do take credit cards which is always convenient and a way to score some points on my rewards card. There's usually a line here during peak hours. Try to avoid it if you can. They are pretty quick at pumping out those orders though (look at the display on the counter to see how far away your drink is). I usually come to this Sharetea when I'm craving boba and happen to be near Union Square because it's convenient and fast. Even when the line gets long on Saturday afternoons, I don't usually need to wait more than 10 minutes to get my drink. The drinks are average but will satisfy your boba fix. I stick to the classic black milk tea or the Okinawa milk tea (roasted brown sugar). The boba and other toppings are good for the most part though I recently tried their mini pearls and they came out all mushy and stuck together at the bottom of my drink. I'm also not sure how honest they are about reducing sweetness levels. I've ordered the Okinawa milk tea at 30% sweetness here, but when I've tried to order the same thing at other Sharetea locations, they've told me that it's not possible to reduce the sweetness because the flavoring and sugar are combined already. I come here nearly every week because it is conveniently located and pretty much the only non-bougie tea place in Soma/Fidi (it's fast and casual). Plenty of sitting areas within the Metreon since it's a food court. The tea is not freshly brewed but they do have a decent range of teas, milk teas, fruit drinks, and toppings which means you can try a ton of different combinations (personally not a fan of their milk teas because there is way too much milk). I'm thankful that their boba is a good level of sweet and has a good chewiness to it and that their grass jelly is also a good texture. Love the mango pudding and red bean as well. If you do plan on getting toppings, lower that sugar level because the toppings are sweet enough! I haven't tried many of their fruity drinks but of the ones I did try (mango green tea and passionfruit), I didn't enjoy them very much. Tasted like watered-down syrup. But then again, I mostly get the drinks for the toppings anyway. Business model-wise sharetea knows how to bring in customers with their promos and deals and cute bottles/colors etc. They don't have snacks at this location because they already get enough $$ and it there's no room for a kitchen. I have ordered the Hokkaido Milk Tea before at this location and genuinely liked it so I decided to order it again. Doordashed it to my work place in San Francisco... I've been kind of obsessed with boba this last month, this is how I end up at ShareTea with my husband :-) Tons of options there! We chose the mango passion green tea with boba, we asked for 50% sugar. Still too sweet, way too sweet. Next time we'll go for 30% or even less. Apart from this, pretty nice bubble tea. You get a number for your order and even if there were like ten orders before ours, it finally went quite fast. We took ours at the movie and it was great.
