It's a good thing, makes it easier for me to make my decision since I know what kind of drinks they have. They always have a good milk tea, that is usually my go-to. This time, tried the Okinawa Pearl Milk Tea and the Taro Milk Tea. The Okinawa Pearl Tea had a nice after taste, where as the taro had the nice milky, silky and smooth flavor that we look and want in taro drinks. Simply; they were both really good! I always still like the milk teas better but that's just me. Consistent with the other locations, you cant go wrong if you are craving milk tea with Boba, or any other drinks on a hot day. When I got to the front of the line, the RUDE cashier let someone cut right in front of me! I told her I've been waiting in line, if someone needs to cut in, the least you can do is ask me if it is OK. And if I say no, then try asking the next person in line but don't just let people cut the line! EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I've been coming here for years - NEVER AGAIN! This Sharetea is located in the University Town Center where the old Golden Spoon used to be (right next to Peet's and Ray's Pizza). I like that you can customize the amount of sugar and ice. Got the matcha red bean milk tea with 30% sweetness and it was perfect. Doesn't need any more sugar than that because the red bean gives it some sweetness too. The matcha taste was a little too subtle though - wish it was stronger, but others might like it just the way it is. Still refreshing and delicious for this sunny day. read more

It's nice to see that a suitable competitor opened up at UTC to give Cha for Tea a run for their money. It can be pretty bad when their drink quality drops and service issues come about - but nothing is done because they know they are the only boba/tea serving place in the immediate area. First time here and I picked up the Matcha Green Tea Crema with Boba pearls. What's great about Sharetea is that you can customize your drink - regular/light/no ice, as well as adjust its sweetness level (100%/50%/0%?) - which is a plus, since there are places I've gone to where a drink would be too sweet - and I'd struggle to complete the drink. My drink turned out great! Just the right amount of matcha (some places don't put enough or their matcha flavor is a bit off) - a thick layer of luscious cream, and a good amount of fresh, chewy and semi-sweet boba pearls. Wait-time once I ordered my drink was fine - my only gripe is that when this place gets busy, it seems they still only have one register open, which can put a damper on service efficiency (Cha for Tea has more than one register open when things get busy). There aren't any seating areas inside, but plenty of seats and tables outside. This location is near Ray's Pizza and Peet's Coffee at UTC, so find parking back in that area. It's great they offer a stamp card - be sure to pick one up when you go! read more

I've tried a lot of boba spots over the years. This particular location is right by my house so I frequent it pretty often. There's always a line but don't let that deter you. It moves quick and I never end up waiting too long for my order. I always get the mango green tea with boba and it (almost) never disappoints! Highly recommend that you order your drink half sweet or less. Even half sweet is too sweet sometimes. That's my only issue with this place, but I know people love the sweet drinks so maybe this isn't a dealbreaker for you. I have nothing but good things to say about the actual boba. I got the strawberry black tea with aiyu jelly and it was so yummy!! I love the aiyu jelly and the tea flavor is strong enough without a very artificial strawberry flavor. I've been to a couple of share tea's locations, and it was my first time at this one. Yesterday morning, I ordered my usual and quickly said my order to the worker. Since I'm probably going to frequent here in the future, I decided I should sign up for rewards, and I followed all of the worker's directions except for one. I did not hear her due to background noises. When she realized I did something wrong, she looked so frustrated and pissed and dropped her hands down to the counter. Not to mention, she had looked unhappy the entire time I was talking to her. Then, she ignored the stuff I typed in and continued with the payment. I was the first or second customer that day, so I'm not sure what she was upset about. I hope there is more filtration for who is hired to do this job. Sharetea doesn't amaze me nor does it disappoint me. I give it 4 stars because it offers a very wide variety of flavors, toppings and add-ons. Their boba also seems to be fresh and warm a majority of them time, although there has been a few times where I can tell it is not fresh. The actual drinks I have ordered taste okay, but nothing has blown me away. The customer service is always friendly and student-run. They get the drinks out very quickly: I have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a drink. One of my main complaints is that the cash registers are right next to the entrance, but so is the menu. So if I get there without knowing what you want, I kind of feel rushed because the menu is right next to the cashiers. Disappointed at this location :(. While I understand that my stamp card has expired by 1 month, they refused to allow me to redeem it for a free drink. However, other sharetea locations including their Fountain Valley sister store have made exceptions for my expired stamp cards in the past. They need to have more consistency in terms of accepting stamp cards across stores. Also, this store has one of the worst wait times and always has a long line out the door simply because it is located at UCI. Parking is also a nightmare at UTC sometimes too. Other sharetea locations like the one in Cerritos and Santa Ana also offers 10% off for yelp check in but this stingy location and Fountain Valley does not. Sad to say, I will NOT be coming back here anymore ;( ----------------------------------- Update to business owner's (Eric) reply: I apologize if you think my review is unfair as I am aware that my stamp card was expired. However, other stores including your second location in FV has made exception for me in the past so as a customer, I believe I deserve some consistency in the kind of service and treatment that I receive. One of my favorite places to get boba! It is located in the University Town Center near UCI so parking can be a bit difficult. There is always a line but it moves fairly fast, I never had to wait too long to receive my drink. My go to drink is the oolong fresh milk tea with boba. This oolong milk tea is so light and refreshing and never feels heavy even though it is a milk tea. Drinks are customizable- they offer a variety of toppings, sweetness and ice level are also adjustable. Personally I do 50% sweetness and that is the perfect amount for me. Anything more would be too sweet in my opinion. They only offer one drink size. Price is like most other boba shops.So happy that there is a Sharetea in Irvine! read more

Personally, I think Sharetea is average (especially this location) because of how inconsistent the drinks taste. I usually order the same drinks and they are different each time I go. I thought the Honey Green Milk tea I ordered was watered down, as I could barely taste the tea despite asking for easy ice. I've always liked 歇腳亭 back in Taipei, when they were a tiny storefront. Now they have a big empire in multiple countries. I'm glad to see one open here near me. Got the classic oolong milk tea (made with nondairy creamer), mini pearls, no ice, 50% sweet, and Honeybuns got a black whole lemon tea, no ice, no sugar, aiyu jelly. I like my tea - it was sweet enough, and slightly creamy but definitely can taste the oolong tea. Honeybuns liked his tea, but I couldn't stand it - it tasted very tannic 澀味很重 especially without any creamer or milk, and no sugar. It's like the heavy, tannic, strong ceylon or assam tea that's been overbrewed for 15 minutes. I love the Taiwan 紅玉紅茶 and 蜜香紅茶 black tea varieties - very smooth, no tannins. It's hard to get those kinds of tea here. I'll come back and try the fresh milk oolong tea next time. read more

Staff is very friendly. One time I walked out with 2 drinks and I dropped one on accident right in front of the store. I walked back to get napkins to my surprise that they re-made my drink for me and said "we hope your day gets better" Service is definitely slower than average boba stores. The taro is pretty slimy for some reason. I hate that their rewards are analog still. Sometime I don't have the card with me and I have to accumulate 2-3 reward cards. First time here today and came with my cousin who is a regular here. We both ordered the oolong milk tea with mini boba. I usually get 50% sweet at boba places, but my cousin insisted I try 100% sweet my first time and I'm glad I did because it really wasn't overly sweet. And although the color looked pretty light, the tea flavor still came through and wasn't just a a creamy drink like other places. Their mini boba is also nice and chewy, not too soft, and definitely not hard. Also, good boba to tea ration Only downside is that this place has no indoor seating, like Cha. Sharetea is one of my favorite boba places in Irvine mostly because of its location and proximity to so many good food places! I always stop by every time I'm in UTC. The boba quality is consistently good and they give a lot in each drink. My favorite drink is their Okinawa pearl milk tea because it's a perfect balance of tea flavor and sugar flavor. I would also recommend their Hawaiian fruit tea if you want a non-milk tea. I always get my drinks at half sweet since the regular sweetness can be a little much. The line can get pretty long on weekends but I've found that weekday lines are fairly manageable. Parking is usually a hassle because it's such a popular plaza but park between the Trader Joe's and the movie theater if you want the shortest walk. read more

Love that this location is finally in Irvine because I often found myself driving to Fullerton just to grab some boba. The unfortunate thing about this location is that it is slightly more expensive than the Fullerton location. I suspect it's due to the more expensive lease that's associated with having a store in the University Town Center of UC Irvine. No matter what time of day you come to Sharetea, there is always a line. And when I mean line, I mean at least 10 customers ahead of you. This can be seen as a good and bad thing. Good because you know that their drinks are well-liked by the population and bad because you can expect to spend at least 20-30 minutes here for just one order. LOVE: - Loyalty cards! I love that they stamp it one per drink rather than one per visit. I often order for the office so we rack these up pretty quickly - Mini pearls! It is so hard to find a boba shop with mini pearls and a large selection of toppings, so this is the true reason why I'm always at Sharetea - Sea salt cream top! If you haven't had the chance to try it, wow... get to it!! Favorite Beverages: - Taro ice blended with pudding (substituted for mini boba) - Mango passionfruit green tea with aloe vera topping - Coffee creama - Matcha creama The only reason why they don't get a 5-star rating from me is because every time I order for my office, they somehow seem to mess up one of my drinks which results in me spending more time waiting for them to fix it. They make the BEST taro milk tea EVER! It's so creamy and delicious, you can get your order less sweet and still enjoy that amazing taro flavor in all its goodness. I've gone through a lot of different drinks here looking for perfection. For people who like a stark contrast in their drink and boba, I recommend the classic black milk tea with pearls. You can lower the sweetness by a lot while maintaining a really pleasant tea flavor that is sweetened only by the boba. Lots of different topping options for those who are more adventurous. Aloe, jelly, all that good stuff. Ah, and mini pearls, which I sometimes like to get anyway. The location is a little tricky, since you have to navigate the parking lots and some are off limits as a result of sharing the center with an office, but you should be able to find ShareTea pretty quickly by the line. read more
