Location: extremely convenient because there's always parking in the Kahala Mall area Coming here I enjoyed that the menu was easy to read and there was a wide selection of teas. Even when i didn't know what I was going get, all the employees chimed in to explain flavors etc. Downfall: there was cardboard all over the ground. I almost tripped. So that sucked. I got a 50% milktea with boba for my daughter and decided to try their Hawaiian fruit tea with a weird jelly I can't remember the name of or pronounce. It's the jelly that comes with it, so let's call it "the obligatory jelly." I normally get lychee jelly but since "the obligatory jelly" already came free with my fruit tea, I decided to go with the flow. My order came out quickly and I went back home to Lysol my drink cups. Yes, we live in a really odd world now. My daughter was of course overjoyed by her bubble tea and we swapped sips. Her milk tea was okay, but definitely not my favorite of all time. I went here multiple times to get their classic black milk tea with 50% sweetness and less ice. I absolutely love it. Plus it's a quick walk from work so it gives me an excuse to leave campus for a little while. This place has definitely gone downhill since it opened. I used to order something here almost everyday during the first few weeks when it opened, but had to stop my boba drinking habits. I finally came back after months of not having Sharetea. The biggest deterrent would be their customer service. I absolutely do not feel welcomed here. No greetings whatsoever even when they're slow or no other customers in the store. I once ordered their mango & passion fruit green tea, and although it was kind of good, I questioned whether I could swallow/bite the passion fruit seeds that were in it. Like is it safe? Lol. Pretty nasty customer service and milk tea. I had their classic milk tea 25% sweet and light ice. When my cup came out it was half a cup of ice. The lady there (apparently family to the owner who only works weekends) glared at me and said this is light ice. I was like but this is like half a cup? She said ya we follow a standard menu for the drinks. I said ok well can I please have less ice? She said this is it. I said no like less ice than that. She said this is our menu item. She then said well then there will be a gap and and it won't be a full cup. I said that is fine. So she proceeded to make another cup w 1/4th cup of ice. After seeing a new spot in Kahala I can't to try the fresh milk matcha milk tea and taro milk tea. Both teas tasted great and rich. I personally liked the matcha better since the taro was a bit on the heavier side. I've also heard that the regular milk tea is one of the best options offered here. The only reason for not being able to give it a 5 star review is the price. Each milk tea drink is roughly $6 with tips being highly encouraged. I have tried the tiger milk tea with whole milk and the regular milk tea with boba and they are both delicious. The only thing i would recommend if you order is to ask for less ice because it is hard to get the boba through the straw with all the ice at the bottom of the cup. The tiger milk tea is not very sweet so if you have a sweet tooth, you might need to ask for less ice, extra sweet level. They have a lot of different teas to choose from including blended ice drinks with ice cream. I ordered the mango green tea with crema. Their cheese topping is referred to crema. It's more milky thou, so not like the other cheese foam I've tasted. The tea was good. They gave me a 10% discount for showing my military ID. Their prices are pretty similar to other tea places thou they only have one size cup. If you order a blended drink it's more pricey and depending on the toppings you choose you can pay up to $8 or more for your drink. It's a cute place but very small with limited seating. So excited that Kahala mall opened a boba place. It is located right outside of the main mall near the McDonald's and dominos. The first time we came for pizza and noticed it was opening day. So of course we had to try it. I got the milk tea with boba. They had a grand opening special buy one get one free. What I notice is they always have amazing specials. Don't forget to ask for a stamp card. The milk tea I got with less ice and less sweetness. It was perfect. The boba was so fresh. We liked it so much that we came back today. We tried their signature strawberry ice with lychee jelly and ice cream. Soooooooo good. The strawberry slushie part is so good. I don't usually like jelly but the lychee jelly was on point. It was bursting with flavor. My husband got the coffee milk tea. He said it was amazing. He loves coffee and said it had a great coffee flavor. You know this place is great for their milk tea. I can't vouch for their other blended drinks but the milk tea always seems to satisfy. Reliable spot but the new employees need training. Employee with the glasses continuously touches his hair mid making our drinks which is unsanitary. Also was not promptly acknowledged when entering. Visited yesterday during their soft opening, and service was excellent already. The staff answered the questions I had, and if they didn't know the answer, they found out for me. I got the creama (crema) top on a jasmine green tea. The crema top was perfect! Prefect amount of sweet and creamy, just like the ones I've had in Cali. These new tea bars have been popping up all over Oahu in recent years and noticing the trend within the last few years. I'm not a fan of the bobba, but at least it was tea and not soda. At least, high sugar + tea is better, right? I found myself here at Kahala Mall on a recent Saturday evening after purchasing a tuna sub at Jersey Mike's subs. As I walked out of the store with my order, I noticed Share Tea - which was 2 doors down from Jersey Mike's. I was like, maybe I should try this place out. And so, in I went. It was a simple store, as many of them are. It was a small store that found a small niche in the eastern side of Honolulu. Share Tea's beginning is from Taiwan and the inspiration from these teas and tea concoctions stem from them. They offer brewed tea, fruit tea, milk tea, and possibly any combination you can think of. First impression was "fruit tea?!". I didn't know how to process that one, as I know traditional tea comes from tea leaves and not from fruit. And yeah, milk tea was just a mind blown moment for me. I don't know how milk tea is derived. With that said, I was a total skeptic when I came here, especially when the rise of popularity of tea drinks arrived in Hawaii and became popular. I just wanted to try their brewed ice tea just to see if it's the same stuff I make at home. Just the basics for now. Just gotta say that the basics was sweet, as they mix in a little too much sugar. Maybe I should have said plain. The overall experience here at Share Tea - Kahala Mall was okay, but could've been better. Their prices tend to be on the heavier side, almost like a sticker shock. It's like buying a chocolate milkshake at a fast food restaurant, a smoothie at Jamba Juice, or a frappuchino at a Starbucks. It's that expensive and be prepared to spend an average of $5.00 per drink. Still, the service here was friendly, fast, and courteous. The wait time was about 5-7 minutes, depending on if there is a line or not. For my own experience though, there was about 3 people ahead of me at the time and it was nice to check out the many flavors they had before making a certain decision. For the most part though, $4.25 + tax was an okay price to check things out - at least for the basic brewed tea. You can get ice tea from McDonald's nearby for $1.00 large or buy tea bags in bulk at Walmart. BUT, I just had to try Share tea's version of their basic brew. Let's just say that you can get the same taste, but at a reduced cost. I didn't taste any real significance, although if you put enough sugar in it, I just might come to enjoy it. Still, teas are becoming an alternative to soda pop and I commend any store that sells them - along with special water too. Still my experience here was just okay. I may be back to try other flavors, but I won't be back regularly, even though I'm in the area almost daily after work. If you are a fan of these tea houses, consider coming here to get your tea fix on. They are located at the Kahala Mall shopping center, 4211 Waialae Avenue. Take the H-1 east and take the exit after passing the Koko Head Avenue exit. Since they share their space with other tenants at the mall, you can find generous parking spaces here, but be warned that you may need to come here before the lunch or dinner rush to get the best stalls. If you are like me, public transportation options are available too. Routes 1, 1L, 14, 22, 23, and 24 come through the area and stops off at various bus stops around the shopping center. Also, Uber and Lyft can be there for you too. While I am not a fan of these tea houses, you may be one and you totally can check out this place if it's the place for you. I rather have my basic tea bag tea without the extra sugar. Not my first ShareTea. The first one I've been to is the one in Cali near by California home. I had enjoyed the one in Cali and was excited when this one was built near my current home. My husband haven't had it, so since it was built next to our favorite bakery, we made a trip to both ShareTea and Brug Bakery. He chose the Coffee Milk Tea with boba and less sugar. We was like a kid in a candy store. He loved in how strong the coffee was and that the sugar was just the right amount. He had a bit of ice as it was a hot day. To him it was worth the wait and the drive down to Kahala. Now every time he wants to get something from the bakery, we always stop by to get a drink from ShareTea. It's even to the point it's the only boba shop he'll ever go to now. He's tried going to the other ones but it just isn't the same to him. My first time trying this ShareTea I was hopeful. I tried the Matcha with Fresh Milk no nice, no boba, and light sugar. I love the strong robust flavor of Matcha. The Fresh Milk was a nice touch to it. Loved that the sugar was the perfect amount without overbearing the Matcha flavor. As for the service, the workers I've come across have been amazing and with a lot of patience even during busy hours. They do their best to satisfy their customers to the best of their abilities. With this Covid, they provide a receipt with a number on it. Due to having a small store, many customers are asked to stay outside until their number is called. Yes, it isn't the greatest to stand outside waiting but at least there's a number system which is easier than trying to call out someone's name. They use the Five Star Reward System which I enjoy tremendously. They would ask me if I wanted to use any of my current offers and would add the discounts to my tab. I've tried their passion fruit, orange, and grapefruit tea with light ice and light sugar. So yummy and glad to have tried out a fruit tea. It was refreshing on a hot summer day. Even compliment the guava bread I got from Brug Bakery next door. Worth every penny. If I am to compare to this one to the one in Cali, I prefer this one. The one in Cali often tastes sweeter in comparison which I'm not fond of. The one in Cali is also a stamp card system. Better to have a Five Star Reward system instead in my opinion.
