Ramen mission complete, sugar mission activated! I'd spotted this cheerful, lemony exterior before and knew boba and sweet drinks were ripe for sipping. With my friend being a loyal fan, we were ready to zest and sip our way into fruity bliss. Location: On the street level of the Koula building in Ward Village, squeezed between Nori Bar and Dean & Deluca. Parking: We parked a little off-site, but the closest lot is in A'ali'i (corner of Robinson Ln & Queen St). Consolidated Theatres or Whole Foods lots work too - think of it as a pre-boba warm-up for your legs. Atmosphere: Cute, citrusy, and all about the lemons. Classic "boba shop chic" (almost Sunright vibes), with enough seating to chill before the evening rush. A small line formed later, but no sidewalk takeovers. Drinks: Usually I'm all about boba, but tonight I went with a mango matcha smoothie time since I needed a sleep-friendly sipper. Tangy, sweet, and fruity? Check. Matcha flavor? Totally ghosted - didn't even RSVP to its date with mango. Mango's solo performance? Still a showstopper. Food: Bubble waffles had always been on my radar, but thanks to my friend, I finally gave it a try. One taste and it was love at first fluff - airy, flavorful, and oh-so-dippable. My stomach tapped out, but my taste buds were shouting "encore"! Service: Smooth sailing - the cashier was friendly, and both my drink and my friend's bubble waffle landed in our hands within 5-10 minutes. Price: Around $8 for my drink, not bad. Would I return? Absolutely - left feeling like a happy little lemon, and next time I'll peel out room for bubble waffle indulgence.

I didn't even realize they relocated/reopened until we were strolling in ward! Came after a dinner and it was quite busy (lots of kids mainly). Quick to order, it took 10min for the mochi waffle but totally worth it! Got it fresh, slightly crunchy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. The soft serve is the same as I remember as well! A few tables inside/outside (about the same as the last location). Happy to know they're back!!

Cute little tea house with delicious waffles. We came around 3:30pm in the afternoon while walking our puppy, and it was empty with just us. It was nice to sit down on a hot afternoon and have a refreshing drink. The lemonade green tea was refreshing and I chose sugar free. So great that I can pick my prefer level of sugar. It was still very good without the sugar. The bubble waffle came out fast and hot. The vanilla whip cream was delicious. I could finished 2 of these huge waffles by myself. What a delicious surprise! The staff was nice, and shop was clean and the drinks and food were delicious . Highly recommend!

I'm so glad Happy Lemon re-opened in Ward, and this location does not disappoint! My go-to drink is their Strawberry Green Tea, but I've also been loving their (new!) Mango Sago drink recently. Both are so delicious and refreshing, but they tend to be on the sweeter side, so I personally order them at 25-50% sugar level. If you want to order boba with your drinks, I'd definitely recommend it - honestly, I've been disappointed by other Happy Lemon locations before, but this one has consistently good boba, with perfectly chewy texture and distinct brown sugar taste. I also love their Bubble Waffles, which are always satisfying, crispy, and pairs perfectly with their sweet and slightly salty Puff Cream. Note that it is about $9 for both, which I think is a bit expensive but definitely worth it as a treat every so often! Overall, I always love coming to this Happy Lemon for their friendly staff, convenient location, and clean and aesthetically pleasing seating area! Considering that Happy Lemon is an international chain and Hawai'i has many other local boba shops, this is honestly not always my go-to suggestion for tourists. However, if you're already in the area and want a refreshing, sweet treat, I'd definitely recommend stopping by!

Refreshing beverage in Honolulu, Hawai'i... Even though Happy Lemon is a chain, it still has an interesting menu and local specials - that's why I got the Mango Lemon Slushy. It had an intensely tart flavor and tiny bits of fruit mixed in. To make the drink more palatable, I added in some unsweetened green tea... LOL! Located across from Cino, to the right of Nori Bar, and to the left of Dean & Deluca, is the new location of Happy Lemon. The Ward Village location closed and this one appeared in Kaka'ako! I've also visited the one at Pearlridge Mall and Ala Moana Center. The worker seemed a bit concerned while I was taking photos. I told him I'm going to post them online. Haha! Overall, it was an alright experience. I parked across the street for free. I appreciated the cool air-conditioning and clean, bright environment! Thank you!

Just down the road... I was so sad to see the location right across Nordstrom Rack close to only realize that they relocated just down the road amongst the new condos and other biz is great to know though now my first world problem is the convenience of getting there lol! I do frequent South Shore Market and knowing i could just cross the street was nice and now it will take a slight more effort...is still absolutely worth it. Shop is slightly smaller though still with a vibrant and cute vibe they do have a few seating inside along with a menu filled with refreshing sips and the yummy bubble waffles! It was quite late in the day and knowing that I had one filled with errands I needed something to keep me going so I had to grab a drink and it was the Strawberry Matcha as i ordered it with soy milk to the response of the guy it still has dairy with an annoying tone and had to repeat it several times to me as I didn't quite understand it, and said it was okay. Not sure what made it still include dairy is the matcha I guess though i did appreciate the information of it all he was quite annoyed and probably just tired nevertheless this $9+ drink isn't a bargain and as I was extremely exhausted myself didn't even drink it as it's in the fridge now...this State Holiday drained my brains but kept it cool and got on my way. Thank you!

Checked out the new Happy Lemon location! The space is nice and clean, but it definitely gets a little stuffy when it's crowded -- and it gets busy fast. Tried the bubble waffle and it was really good -- crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, just how it should be. The drinks were pretty solid too, but a little on the sweeter side for my taste. If you don't like super sweet drinks, might be good to ask for less sugar when you order. Overall, cool spot to grab a snack and a treat if you're in the area, just be ready for the crowds especially during peak times!

Grand opening celebration today 03/08/25! Long line to get inside @11:30 am. Be prepared to wait. I entered the store @1/2 hour plus later. Located in Ko'ula Ward Village Across Cino and Club Pilates Same side as the new Dean and Deluca coffee and pastry shop. Drinks: Slushy Strawberry Lemonade (SSL)($8.00) and Squeezed Lemon Green Tea (SLGT), 1/2 sweet ($7.50). The SSL is very sweet and flavorful. I tried to order this less sweet, but I was unable to reduce sugar as it is in the mix? I enjoyed that it was a frozen slushy treat. It's a large cup. 4/5 stars The SLGT was refreshing and a bit bitter at first. I ordered this 1/2 sweet. You can adjust the teas level of sweetness. The lemon taste is light. 4/5 stars Food: I ordered the Original Bubble Waffle ($7.50). No dipping sauce, ordered plain. This was delivered to me hot and fresh. It's delicious and fluffy. Perfect with the SLGT. 5/5 stars Service: As fast as they could operate on a Grand Opening Day! Smiles were abound and my cashier was pleasant and answered any questions I had regarding the sweetness of the drinks. Orders come out quickly. Not much of a wait. 5/5 stars Ambiance: Clean, fresh colors and a few tables and chairs to enjoy your drinks and food indoors. There is a cute swing for the young ones. An adorable mascot adorns the front door area. Menu boards are clear and well presented. 5/5 stars. Free parking nearby in Ward Entertainment Complex or Whole Foods Parking. No bathroom was observed.

Stopped by after dinner and ordered two waffle cones with their soft serve. Flavor was salted cheese vanilla and was a light salted vanilla flavor. Not too heavy on the cheese. Service was friendly and efficient. Just one worker but he was very kind and patient with my grandmother. Located in Koula but parking would be at Whole Foods or the theatre (closer).

After a delicious Northern Chinese dinner, I was craving for dessert. I suggested to my family to have locally made ice cream near University Ave but it didn't appeal to them. Did a Yelp search for dessert where several places popped up in the Kakaako area. Favorite niece by default confirmed Happy Lemon (HL) reopened nearby and is now back in Ward Village area. I drove by realizing HL moved to a different location from where it used to be. I relied on Google maps to navigate me. They are now located next to Tonkatsu Kuro and Nori Bar. Family wanted drinks but I was craving ice cream so I ordered soft serve for myself. I added fresh mango topping for a surcharge and I usually get ice cream and soft serve in a cup but what a mistake that was for me by choosing a cone, where I rarely do so. After favorite niece by default paid, we sat down and it didn't take much time before our number was called. It was kinda slow as there were 2 other patrons who ordered after us. Our 3 drinks and bubble waffle was served and I waited for my soft serve and observed it being assembled. The male staff seemed to have struggled as it took him some time to prepare my cone. I witnessed a stressed facial expression from him and noticed my soft serve was lop sided with the sides melting. The next thing I know he got many napkins to pat down the melted soft serve and I now noticed my soft serve slanted. It was painful to watch him struggle so I told him to put it in a cup. I took my cone now upside down in a cup back to our table and immediately noticed the soft serve was now in a semi liquid form. Epic fail. The chopped mango wasn't sweet and tasted raw - - that numbing feeling in your mouth when consuming fruit picked too early and not ripe enough to be consumed. I didn't want to make a scene in front of the family by sending my soft serve back so I ordered a drink as I was not satisfied with my disappointing soft serve. I chose a milk tea with salted foam. This drink somewhat salvaged tonight's dessert as it had a great milk tea essence and the 50% sweetness suited my taste buds. We loved the ambiance and brightness of the store. Favorite nephew by default, who paid for my milk tea, pointed out the different cover tops that were cute. Overall, mixed feelings of HL as family may have enjoyed their drinks and the bubble waffle but clearly the soft serve shouldn't have been served due to its poor quality. The texture was too soft where it couldn't support the fresh fruit topping. I saw mango chunks slide and fall off and the soft serve started to melt on the sides. It was painful to watch the staff dab the melted soft serve with multiple napkins in front of me. What a waste of $7.50 for a subpar product.

So glad they're still at Ward! Line was out the door at 6p but moved fast. Customer service was stellar (2 staff at the register and 2 handing out the drinks/waffles/ ice cream), especially after working so hard all day with grand opening bogo. We always order the same drinks, so used this bogo opportunity to try new items. Delish!

After a walk at the beach, we were in need of something to help us cool off. I figured this was the perfect time to finally try this place out. There's a few tables and chairs to choose from. Luckily it was empty when we walked in so we easily found a seat. I love the smell inside and it felt very clean. I got the squeezed honey lemon green tea and my fiancé got the mango lemon slushy, which came with the lychee jelly. We didn't know how sweet it was so we went with 100%. I typically really like sweet drinks, although his was a bit too sweet for our liking. He wasn't able to finish his but I really liked mine. It was the perfect about of lemon, honey, and green tea. I'm looking forward to trying more of their drinks.

New location right next to Dean and Deluca. I am glad they stayed in the area because it's such a convenient location when you are in Ward and craving boba. I always order the roast tea with cheese foam and boba. The cheese foam is delicious and I wish there was more of it inside the drinks. We also ordered the green tea with cheese foam, the mango matcha smoothie, and the mango yakult smoothie. All easy to drink and super refreshing.

So I ordered a Classic Milk Tea regular sweet. After I received my drink I was curious as to what kind of black tea they used for the classic milk tea. I asked and the person working at the register at the time just looked at me and said, "I have no idea" and walked away... Anyways, the milk tea is drinkable although, after sipping at my drink for awhile it kind of coats your tongue with a heavy cream flavor? It wasn't pleasant and the tea flavor doesn't linger. Also regular sweet is way too sweet, so I recommend doing 50% or even 25% sweet as a normal sweet. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back.

The mango flavor tasted either artificial or extremely diluted. The color was very pale--I could barely see that signature yellow/orange mango hue--and the mango flavor itself was almost nonexistent. The coconut base and sago pearls were fine and pretty standard, but nothing memorable or exciting enough to make me want to order it again. My husband got the fresh watermelon smoothie. You could tell the watermelon itself was fresh, which we appreciated, but the drink was very watered down due to too much ice. After just one gulp, it felt like it turned into mostly ice with very little juice left. He did like that it came standard with coconut jelly, which added a nice texture and sweetness. Overall, the drinks were okay but lacked strong, fresh fruit flavor, especially for the price and expectations. If they reduced the ice and intensified the fruit base, these drinks could be much better. Probably wouldn't rush back, but could be a quick stop if you're already at Ala Moana and craving something light and cold.
