WE traveled last week to Enterprise, AL to see family and we agreed to meet my In Laws at Shane's Rib Shack, their suggestion, that was within walking distance of our Hotel. The employees were very nice and that is the only positive thing that I can say about the very low quality food. Having served in the military for many years I can eat and have eaten some bad tasting low quality food. I could not eat the food that I had ordered and that included a made to order "All American Cheese Burger" There is no use specifying the food that was ordered because all of it was not worth eating. read more

I would strongly suggest NOT ordering from DoorDash. My wife and I ordered ribs, chicken tenders and some pulled pork. Most of the food was flavorless and seemed as though it had been cooked a couple weeks ago. The ribs were especially horrid - be sure to bring a chainsaw in order to cut into the meat. The side items we ordered were terrible. The green beans were swimming in water, the potato salad tasted like a glob of mayo, and I have no words to describe how awful the peach cobbler looked. Perhaps going to the actual restaurant is a different experience, but as for DoorDash, this is an experience I will never forget. read more

I love Shane's Rib Shack and it deeply saddens me to say that this is the most disappointing one I have been to out of about the 6 or 7 I have visited at. My biggest reason for this disappointment wasn't the BBQ but the Sweet Tea! I tried the Sweet Tea and it was barely Sweet. When the server brought my food, I told her the tea was not sweet. She said that it was probably because it was almost empty and she offered to get me a new one. When she returned with it, it was more unsweet than the first one. I had to think that she got it from the unsweet, so I went up there and tried all tea containers. The unsweet was profoundly unsweet but the sweet tea was unsweet. Like on a scale of 1 to 10 of sweetness...it was a .1. I dont like peach so the peach tea was too overwhelmingly peach for me. I am just so amazed how a restaurant in south Alabama from a BBQ place can have such unsweet supposedly sweet tea! Also, the only sauce that was on the table was the original. Every other Shane's I have been to has had at least the spicy on the table too and in most cases, the mustard and honey. Not this one! The server did bring me some sauce packages but not enough for me who would drink sauce over alcohol anyday. Now that I have the major reasons why I gave this a 2 star is out of the way...I did have the Shane Sampler. The ribs and pork were ok and the chicken tenders spun in lemon paper was the best out of the 3. The potato salad I love because of its sweet mustard base. The slaw was disappointing as it needed to sliced better. Maybe it was a bad night because I love Shane's but I will not be back to this location, especially if the sweet tea was as bad as it was tonight. read more

Multiple visits to this location. The facility is always in good shape and clean. The service has always been friendly and helpful. The food is a B- at best. Ribs are usually dry and bland so I'd stay away from them. Pulled pork is adequate so I stick with that. Definitely worth a visit read more

This is our go to whenever we can't decide. Ribs and salads are great. Our kiddo loves the cowboy burger. They make their burgers fresh so it does take a few extra minutes but it's worth it. Staff is always friendly and the restaurant is always clean. They also have a military discount which is nice, I always tip it back to the kids at the front and they appreciate it. read more

Pulled pork plate came with a large pile of pork, but it was dry and bland and had zero smoke flavor. Looked like it was left over from lunch, and they were just trying to get rid of it. The fries were soggy and also flavorless. Slaw was okay but too chunky. Wife said her salad was good. There are much better barbecue places in Enterprise, (and most actually smoke the meat on the premises), but this was the only choice on this particular Sunday evening as the rest of the places were closed. read more

Jadason is awesome and recommended the BBQ sauces, my parents split the meals in half between them, half rack of ribs, half a chicken, and many sides. Food sucks. No getting round it if it wasn't for the bbq sauce to help me eat it l, the food would have no flavor. I think it should be noted that this food is not smoked bbq etc. Its baked. When you walk up to the restutants I don't smell any smoke and the there isn't any smoke rungs in the food. Don't care for the order up front at register type in environment either. Ran in and out for take-out on a Saturday evening. When placing the order the clerk wasn't overly friendly. Not rude but she seemed to miss the mark on asking for clarity on the order (I ordered a salad but she didn't ask what type of dressing I wanted). When we got there, we saw how swamped they were so we can somewhat understand her desire to rush through the order. It was ready by the time they agreed and everything was hot. We ordered the chicken salad and wings plus peach cobbler. The salad was great (the Texas toast is a little salty). I didn't taste my husbands wings but the cobbler was awesome!! I really want to like Shane's more, but keep encountering issues with it over the years as my family return to this area time and time again. The food IS quite good and I don't recall ever having a bad meal from here. I wouldn't say their ribs, pulled pork or wings are extraordinary, but they ARE much better than most, especially in Enterprise. The fried okra and sweet potato fries are on point and the Texas toast is above average. The employees are pleasant and the place is kept clean, so from the food service standpoint, I have no issue with Shane's. I take exception, however, to two things encountered tonight that also irked me a few times in the past: the loud christian music and plastic eating utensils. While my family and I sat to wait for our food, our ears were assaulted by loud christian music of numerous genres (pop, country, some hard rock(?!). I'm from the south and grew up here, so I accept a high degree of exposure to, and am mostly immune to, the influences of the christian doctrine everywhere. It's part of the cultural landscape, just like trucks with lift kits, high humidity, Dollar General stores, and pregnant teens. There are, however, times and places for every genre of music, and I would argue that most public establishments do well to not play such polarizing or biased music, especially at such high volume, unless it is advertised to be that kind of venue. When I go to any beach bar, I expect Jimmy Buffet and Beach Boys. When I go to a sports bar, I expect pop, maybe some classic rock or mild hip-hop. Fine dining venues might offer some light orchestra music or maybe even some jazz or alternative genres to add ambiance. Accordingly, I'd expect some country, bluegrass, or even local folk music at most barbecue places, but not christian music. People that like that kind of music can (and should) get it at places that cater to that niche of the music industry. Don't get me wrong: If you want to run a christian barbecue place, that's fine by me. Such opportunity to cater to public's hunger for smoked meats and infatuation with Jesus is one of the many features that make our country great and I'd never get in the way of free enterprise, good food, or freedom of expression/religion. As long as the food is safe and no one gets hurt, then by all means, plaster it on the billboard and the front door as a christian establishment (e.g., "Shane's christian barbecue"). Don't, however, expect me to spend money on food at your establishment, only to be ambushed and have my family's dining experience ruined (in part) by music that is not only loud, but mostly inappropriate for a public restaurant. I'm sure lots of christians own and operate many of the places at which we enjoy eating, but oddly enough, I don't recall encountering this kind of music (or at least this kind of music at such high volume), at the other 99% of the venues we dine at...My family and I actually had difficulty having a conversation at normal volume in an almost empty restaurant. I don't go to your church to fire up my grill in the parking lot and play Norwegian death metal, so please don't ruin paying customers' barbecue dinners with church music. Also, our oceans are dying and our beaches are filthy. This is an undeniable and incontrovertible fact, as demonstrated by over 100 international biologists and other scientists via the United Nations. You need only spend a few minutes walking a beach or out on the water to witness this firsthand. Trash is everywhere in the oceans. Much of the trash that is killing sea life and polluting our own food chain, even down to the lowest levels, is plastic. Plastic straws and silverware are an incredibly irresponsible manner to serve food at a dine-in establishment. Several local dining establishments recently came under fire from customers for continuing to use plastic straws (and rightfully so!). Plastic straws and eating utensils are not only incredibly difficult to recycle due to their small size, but also exceptionally lethal to many marine mammals and fish species. Plastic cellophane wrappers, similar to the flimsy clear ones used to protect your plastic ware kill millions of sea birds and other sea life (like turtles) each year. It is time for this senseless single-serve-then-dispose-of mentality to end. Please, switch to paper straws (just like we had back on the good-ole' day's). Use REAL utensils for dine-in meals and reserve the plastic-ware only for those who request them on dine-out orders only. We ALL need to re-assess our need for and use of plastic and remember the three R's: Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. Environmental issues aside, real silverware ads a little more class to any meal. No one looks forward to eating good food with a ridiculous plastic fork and knife... As much as I like Shane's food, I do not plan to return unless the music can be kept neutral and at a low volume and until the plastic issue is addressed. read more

I hate Ribs, the texture and flavor is odd to me. Im not saying these are the best in the world, but they are the best I've ever had. I actually order them and they are sooooo good!!! Hahahahaha everything from the burgers to the side are always great, and the staff are always sweet. Word to the wise, do not come about 2.5 hours before close expecting much. Obviously the manager is gone and the kids running it have decided it is almost closing time. ‍ my burger was disgusting, like the grill was scrubbed down and then not wipe off properly. Taste like burnt oily dirty grill taste.( you'd know what I mean if you every ate off a fresh cleaned grill and it isn't wiped well) Other than that the place is amazing!!! I ordered from door dash. I like my wings crispy, which is almost impossible when being delivered. I ordered lemon pepper because I know the sauce makes them soggy. These wings (delivered) were the best Ive had in enterprise. For delivered food, it was fantastic. The ribs were tender, the strips were good. This is what I would call pre-fab BBQ. While the consistency of the meat was pretty good I could not taste a shred of smoke on any of the meat I had. I would venture to guess that there is no pit, nor smoker on the premises. Also first thing I notice whenever I pull up to a BBQ place.... Do I smell the wonderful aromas of whatever wood this place uses. When I walk in, am I hit in the face with the same aromas? I can tell you, here, I did not notice either. Also, I have never heard of this chain before, I actually was unaware that it was a chain, but it shows when you walk in. That being said, I got the 2 meat plate with "smoked" wings and pulled pork. My sides were Cole slaw and baked beans. The chicken had crispy skin and was moist. I'd like to point out, it is incredibly hard to get crispy skin on "smoked" wings. But they were still pretty good. The pulled pork was moist yet lean. A consistency I often strive for when I make pulled pork. However, it lacked any smoke flavor what-so-ever and it also wasn't seasoned very well. The beans were a tier above bushes baked beans since they had a little jalapeño pepper flavor. The Cole slaw was pretty good but pretty standard. The sauces had good flavor outside your standard Store Bought kind, my favorite being the original. I could not tell any difference between the original, hot or spicy however. While it was edible, I did rely heavily upon the sauce to endure the tasteless experience. I cannot bring myself to rate higher then 3 due to the faux BBQ sold here. 3 is generous actually. read more

The base price was $6.50, for $9 you get a drink and 1 small side. I got Mac and cheese, it was delicious and made with actual cheese, not cheese powder. Went there Tuesday night around 7:00 and got the half rack of ribs . They were so tough I couldn't hardly pull them apart and once I was able to finally pull a piece off I was like chewing leather. The smoked wings were generic wings that seemed more fried than smoked, then they just squirted some buffalo sauce on them.. some wings got sauce, others were just dry. awful experience every time we go to Shane's. To begin with the whole building was dark, no lights outside hardly any on inside- had to call to even see if they were open & the lady informed us yes, they just didn't know how to turn on the lights. Tonight I ordered a chicken potato, I asked for extra cheese & sour cream. Their chicken was awful, so chewy & chunky. Had little to no flavor. There was hardly any cheese on the potato (which is rather large) so when I asked for extra they stated they would have to charge me- there was hardly any on there to begin with keep in mind. Once I tried two bites I couldn't eat anymore it was so bad, so I asked for a refund- I wasn't going to pay for something I wasn't eat. The lady said let me go get the shift leader, then came back (no shift leader) and told me they don't do refunds for food, so I asked for the shift leader to come speak to me herself. Once the shift leader came out she said well she can do a refund she just didn't know how and would need to call someone. Just overall horrible service & horrible food. You would be much better off going elsewhere. read more

Decent place. Just moved here not to long ago. I tried Shane's from reading reviews but was not to impressed. Was looking for more of a typical "smoked BBQ flavor". Seems like it was more of a slow oven cooked style. I cook and smoke a lot of pork butt and ribs and mine are true charcoal and wood smoked meat. I bought a 1/2 pound of pork and it was moist but not much flavor. The original sauce was pretty good though. I think I might try big daddy's next time to get that smoke flavor. read more
