I have been exploring BBQ joints in southeast Alabama for years but I had never tried Big Daddys in Enterprise. I have had it on my list since it is very highly rated. I had tried to eat at Big Daddys before in 2018 but they could not accept cards. They said the card machine wasn't working that night and fast forward to 2022, they are still going to tell you something about trying to get one but haven't etc. Make sure you bring cash! For a BBQ joint, this is one of the weirdest looking ones I've ever seen. The outside looks like a house for a bona-fide hole in the wall but inside is where the decor gets really odd. There us a lady at a counter to take your order and about 5 tables that can seat about 30 people. But the decorations make.me think that his is more suited to be a funeral parlor or a hospital chaplain office. There looks like there is an altar table, fake flowers hanging on the wall, a big TV from the 90s, and uplifting portraits on the wall. With all of that said, the place looks and feels very clean. The first thing that catches my eye about the menu are the prices. All the plates are $10 and the sandwiches are $5 or cheaper. I chose a rib plate with potato salad and slaw and a jumbo pork sandwich. The sandwich came on a toasted bun and kept it simple with sauce and pork. The pork was solid but nothing sets it apart from being extraordinary. The ribs though is what I would recommend. I got 3 humongous spare ribs slathered in sauce and was so tender and easy to chew. The one thing I didn't like about the ribs though were they were really salty. The potato salad is a homemade mustard base with no surprises. The slaw was creamy, vinegary, chilly, and a little bit of sweetness. The toast thar came with my plate was buttered extremely well. The sauce is really close to ketchup. It is ketchup with vinegar mixed in with a little spice. Overall, it was a mild sweet tangy flavor and was enjoyable. Sweet tea was extremely sweet but very refreshing. Overall, Big Daddys is a BBQ joint everyone should visit at least once. The service was wonderful and sweet. The price and value are phenomenal and the BBQ is solid. read more

We first went to eat at Big Daddy's in 2008. We had moved to Alabama in 2006 and had been trying to find good BarBQ. We found it when we entered Big Daddy's!!! We moved out of Alabama in 2010. We've been back a few times and Everytime we go back to visit, we stop in. Today was no different. We came for a visit and we stopped into see Big Daddy. We had his famous Pork Stuffed baked potato and baked beans. It is the very best BarBQ bar none. We have lived in Iowa and Nebraska and Pennsylvania and Tennessee. I absolutely love this place! The owners are so friendly every time I come in! I usually get the loaded potato, which has a lot of meat and toppings on a large potato. Their smoked pork is very tender and juicy compared to the chain branches of BBQ around the area. Cash only! It's expensive for what you get. Immediately after sitting down I was given a menu and told that the prices were 50% higher then what was on the menu. I got a pulled pork plate and there just wasn't anything special about it. There also wasn't enough food. Met a customer here to pickup their dog for transport. A place I picked from GPS. MY faith in barbecue restored! I got the potato and it is all loaded up. The sauce is flavorful the meat is flavorful, this is more than enough food for this one person. Big Daddy is extremely nice, there was also an older gentleman in there eating he was nice as well. I stopped here with a group of 4 buddies heading north returning from spring break. We had been driving for hours looking for something good to eat. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. I got the pork plate which comes with two sides, toast and tea. The plate alone costs $10 but they had a special for 2 plates for $15, so my buddy and I went in on the deal. I came here on Tuesday night. It's basically a house that's been renovated to a "restaurant". The decor is very home-like with glass display cases, various pictures hung up, a tv. But it was hot and muggy inside(despite the fans). There were 3 plastic tables set up with chairs. The owners were friendly. I was disappointed because the selection was totally limited. My options were a pork plate with beans and coleslaw or a jumbo sandwich (no regular sandwich option). So go figure, we ordered one of each. The pork was good, the sauce was ok, beans were meh, coleslaw was not special. It came to $17+ change. I won't go back due to extremely limited selection, uncomfortable seating, etc. I get it's Alabama but Yelp let me down! read more

I think three of us ate for about $30 although we usually don't get drinks since I refuse to pay $2 for a glass of soda (which is what most places charge but I didnt look at this place).
