Good food , selection and portions are like home cooked, friendly staff quaint atmosphere

After a few months passed, I decided to give this diner another opportunity. The breakfast and service was good and got the spot. On this particular day I ordered Al a carte--2 soft scramble eggs with cheese, hash browns with onions and ham, and one pancake. Listen, I still feel how I felt previously about the okra, so I'll just refrain from ordering that in the future. Otherwise, I'll continue to support this hometown establishment. read more

Important Reminder: Breakfast is not served all day on Sundays. They stop serving breakfast at 10 or 1030 (can't remember) We came for their breakfast however were told that they stop serving breakfast items on Sundays at a certain time. We decided to stay and try out other things on their menu. I had the hamburger steak with gravy and onions corn nuggets, green beans and garlic bread. The garlic bread I don't recommend as the garlic was burnt and you know how that can taste. The rest of my food was cooked perfectly and seasoned with what I like to call "seasoned to perfection". My daughter had the shrimp platter with fries which she cleaned her plate. The shrimps were huge compared to fried shrimps around this area, they were also fresh and flavorful. My Husband had the classic cheese burger which was good but he didn't rave about it the way I raved about my food . Thank you to the Manager on duty Jackie she was so kind and helpful to us while our visit here. We will be back for breakfast as a family as I am dying to try their French toast and perhaps other things on their menu. read more

Great service and delicious food!! The milkshakes are amazing and I was very happy with my chicken tenders. The portion sizes are massive though, definitely enough to share or take home leftovers! Visited this past weekend and everything was great from the service to the food! Food was hot and fresh and the waitress was very attentive.

I am so sad that it took so long to find this place. I don't go to Ozark often but we were hungry and made a stop for dinner after someone at the vets office recommended this place. I was shocked. The crab claws are good but FRIED BANANA PEPPERS?! ‍ run don't walk. I don't know why I never thought of that because I love banana peppers and my husband loves fried pickes. So I guess I found our new favorite appetizer haha! Everything was delicious. The server was so sweet and helpful. The price was fantastic especially considering how much food we got. My Wife and I have been down here camping in Dothan Alabama for about two weeks now and we found this little gem just 30 minutes north west of where we're staying. My wife and I got burgers and they were delicious. No frozen patties here actually with the quality of the food makes me think that this restaurant doesn't even have a freezer. Everything I had was definitely made fresh in my opinion. And just when I was about to give up on looking for good fried green tomatoes my wife found this place. Do yourself a favor if you stop here, get an order because they were delicious! Crispy and crunchy in a good way. We're in Dothan for two more weeks and we will definitely be going back there a few mor times before we head to Florida. As far as the service you couldn't ask for anything better. We spent a month in Townsend Georgia last year and everyone was super nice and very friendly. I can't say that about the experience that I've been having here in the Dothan area, don't get me wrong all the people are very friendly and nice but unfortunately all of the places we had dinner at were not as friendly as the folks in Georgia were but this dinner changed all that for us. Good old southern hospitality came beaming through from everyone at this diner. They were all very kind and they even made sure that we knew that we may be getting snow this weekend. I was so looking forward to having lunch here. Their burgers look fantastic and they also have a more healthy lunch menu. Yay!! I ordered the grilled chicken salad and my spouse ordered a burger and fries The restaurant is clean and fun. Very retro-50's. The menu states the grilled chicken salad has romaine and iceberg lettuce. Mine did not contain romaine. It also started it has egg. Mine did not have any eggs. Plus, my salad had purple cabbage (yuck yuck) and carrots (yuck yuck). Actually, the salad looks like it came from one of those Dole bags salads with some chicken and shredded cheese. It was my Aunt's birthday and she wanted to meet in Ozark for lunch- she chose here. I had heard good things but had never been. I decided to try the burger- I got the 'small' burger because I had seen the others being brought out- they looked delicious but I knew I shouldn't eat the whole thing lol The burger patty is made in house , seasoned and cooked well. We had the fried green to later for appetizers- they were probably the best I've ever had. Service is good, they were extremely busy but took care of everything. This place is an old school diner with some super waitresses, a heck of a good young cook and oddly the best Blackened Grouper this side of the coast. In addition, their traditional meals (like Country fried steak, Chicken tenders, etc) are great and they still have some of the best burgers in Alabama. Drive by QUICKLY & WITHOUT HESITATION. You're better off going for fast food or across the street to the sushi/Asian restaurant. Negative opinion!!!!! Sitting for over 20 mins for a waitress to notice we still had menus in hand. Multiple have walked and been waited on after our entry. Now on 40 mins pending our food. The food is mid to eatable here, nothing to write home about, they are the only diner opened on Sunday. We've watched a complete mess at the door occur and people are standing clear into the dining too. Guessing no owner or manager in the building. Several employees doing absolutely nothing. It's ludicrous to be approaching near one hour in the building no check back for drinks which are now empty or to apologize for the complete lack of service. I lack any sort of empathy for a joint like this because I worked in one and we 2 waitresses on the same size floor. Wow oh wow was this place a pleasant surprise! When we walked in I didnt realize it was seat yourself. The lady behind the counter said seat yourself and I'll be taking care of you tonight . She was wonderful the entire meal. Every appetizer is pretty intense. Fried and enormous in size. I highly recommend the onion rings. Our server brought a selection of dipping sauces, and then a few extras that she thought I would want to try. She was right! I didn't save room for dessert. I also watched a few other dishes come out. They are known for thier burgers, but I don't eat beef , so I can't comment to that. They have won several awards for them. It all looked good. Stopped in on our way from Dothan to Montgomery. Absolutely wonderful staff. My husband got breakfast and I got a burger and of course some fried green tomato's. Awesome food to match the awesome service! We both had to leave with a box of leftovers. Here's the best part....an elderly man pulled in and got his walker out and started to head for the door. As a Registered Nurse I was watching ready to jump up and lend assistance. Ha, I could relax, the staff were all watching too. One went out to assist him, one held the door, and one assisted him to a chair. They all knew him and even the cook came out to chat with him a minute. THIS is what makes me want to pass through and eat here again. Kudos to the people that make this restaurant a "family" diner for this gentleman. I ask someone in ozark where is a good place to eat and they recommended Our Place. So we tried it out and the parking was full on Sunday afternoon, but I went in anyway. Sat quickly and server immediately came over and got our drink order. This place was excellent. The food was served so hot I had to let it cool down to eat it. This is southern food at its finest. My wife and I both had the 1/4 pound hamburger. Mine with thick bacon and cheese and hers with tomato and lettuce. These were the best hamburgers we've ever eaten! Made with Certified Angus beef.
