Cute little sandwich joint on the square. Fresh, fast, & delicious and not expensive at all

This is a nice midway place to stop on the way to the beach. We enjoyed the food the first time we went and that's why we stopped again. This time the food was fine - once we got it - but the staff was completely disorganized. There were three of us who each ordered a different type sandwich, all with water. I received my food first. Then they brought the other two orders. One was supposed to be a roast beef sandwich but they brought turkey. So it was sent back. We later realized the roast beef had been given to someone at the next table who had ordered the turkey. She ate the roast beef then told the server that she had ordered turkey! The server apologized profusely and then they brought her the turkey sandwich!! All before they brought the correct roast beef sandwich to our table!!! No complementary item was offered for their mistake - a drink, dessert, whatever. But the worst thing was NO apology for getting the order wrong in the first place or for the delay. And we were very nice, it wasn't like we were difficult customers. Very disappointed! read more

I was in town for work and we were on our lunch break. The cafe was pretty small but popular since this town was very small. There was street parking and even that could be hard to find if you want a spot directly in front. We came around 12:40pm or so and this place was packed! There were no empty tables and there were five of us. Their menu were all written on chalkboards behind the counter and I thought it was good that each item had an item description so you knew what you would be ordering. I ordered the Cafe Club sandwich ($7.99) and a soda ($1.55). I didn't know what to order but the description sounded good to me. My sandwich came with a choice or a bag of chips or a potato salad (I think). Our order took a long time to come out and that was because others before us had ordered and were waiting for their food as well. The Cafe Club sandwich was good in my opinion and it could be a lot to eat in one sitting. The second time I came here, I decided to order the Beefy Bacon Melt ($6.99) and chose the wrap instead of bread when they asked me. When it came to our table, it was pretty tiny. I should have ordered it with bread because I finished the two pieces pretty quick. Everything inside of the wrap was delicious, but I thought it was pretty tiny for the price. Food was great but the ladies that worked there were extremely rude. While we were ordering the girl at the cash register got in an argument with a lady from the kitchen. My husband went to the cash register to ask about our food and the party we were with had already almost finished their lunch. The lady brought my plate and my husband asked again about his and she said "I only have two hands" then when she did bring it back she just dropped it on the table and said "enjoy" The service made us not enjoy our lunch. Family is driving from Birmingham to Tallahassee and came upon reviews for Cafe Lele. We called to verify that they were open & a very sweet employee assured us that they were & that we would enjoy their food. The restaurant is charming. Everyone was very friendly. The owner was out front & gave us several recommendations. Two of us ordered the special which was chicken salad on lettuce with fruit & pita bread. The other in our group ordered the chick Caesar sandwich on wheat bread. All of our food was delicious. We will definitely stop here again and you should too. read more

Worth a drive. We were on our way back from Kolomoki Mounds SP and looking for a nice lunch place. Although they were close to closing they opened up and let us order. I had the Veg Out wrap with hummus, very tasty. My husband had a scoop of chicken salad and a scoop of hummus, also very tasty. Hummus is homemade and everything was very fresh. We stopped here for lunch on our way to Atlanta and it was delicious. Clean and tidy dining area, friendly staff and an extensive and varied menu made everyone in the group happy. We had the Turkey Bacon Melt on sourdough, the Grilled Chick on wheat, 2 scoops of chicken salad on mixed greens with fruit and a personal pepperoni pizza. Very nice sandwich and wrap menu. My husband and I both had wraps. He had roast beef and bacon with horseradish sauce and I had hot ham and turkey and cheese with honey mustard and had them put pimento cheese on my wrap. Holy cow they were both so delicious! Very friendly staff. When they found out we were traveling they paled extra napkins and made sure we had EVERYTHING we needed. This is twice I have stopped in only to met with indifference. On my first I did get coffee and a sandwich. I cant remember how it was but do remember the service was poor. Well fast forward a year on my way down to visit family stopped in one girl behind the counter was busy making drinks, someone from the kitchen comes to the register where I am standing taps on it a few times looks at me and turns around and heads back to the kitchen. Every one seems to know every one that is fine. The girl finally finishes that drink and recognizes me after 5 minutes I will be with you in a bit and starts on another drink which will also take 5 or minutes. I just left and wont be back again no matter how bad I want a cup of coffee. small town I would expect better this isn't Starbucks which by the way will get you through a line. read more

Passing through Colquitt and just had the most delicious lunch. Three of us got the Swine Time sandwich. Flavorful ham, bacon , cheese and sweet bbq sauce and toasted. All three of us agreed that our sandwiches were excellent. Fourth person got a garden chicken salad on a soft as a cloud croissant. It was also a great choice. Several of us got soup sides. I had tomato basil that was rich and creamy. Others had potato and another in our group opted for pasta salad. The service was exceptional and overall a nice surprise on our travels. read more

What a find! We were on our way to Panama City Beach and wanted to eat at a locally owned place in Colquitt. I saw red and white cafe umbrellas, so we whipped into the first available parking place. I had the chicken salad plate -- yummy! I love fruit with chicken salad and this had pineapple and grapes. It was served on a nice mix of greens with dried cranberries & chopped pecans. My husband had a beef and bacon melt panini with a really zesty horseradish on it. In one of those crazy life coincidences, we know the owner's wife's sister and her husband! Great food!
