Beef kabob
Isaac C.

Very friendly staff. Inside the restaurant is pretty casual and unassuming. Just some tables and booths. The chicken breast and the beef kabob are very good and a great value.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Beef Shank Nihari and the Shalimar Rice. Seasoning was on point and really enjoyed the flavor, texture of the Nihari. That being said the portion was small, although I enjoyed the Nihari sauce - it was 80% of the dish. Solid place to DoorDash from

For food review you can read my review for the Fremont branch. I had no idea that Shalimar has a new branch here in Dublin but I'm always glad when my favorite restaurants are doing well. They closed down a couple of branches so I'm glad they opened one here even though it's kinda far for me. It's a standalone building with its own parking spots and instead of giving you a stand with a number all the seating areas are labeled with numbers. The restaurant is not small but probably best suited for party less than 6. The chicken is still phenomenal and everything tastes the same as the one in Fremont which basically means wonderfully delicious. Just order the chicken legs if this is your first time. Otherwise you'll know what to order.

Best and consistent Pakistani food. The restaurant is no frills. The service subpar but the food will make you comeback over and over.

Tandoori Chicken

Actual: 2.5/5 Ordered takeout from here on Christmas eve. It was very busy, which was expected. However it was an abnormally long wait time, we ordered at 6:15 and food was ready at 8. The restaurant itself isn't anything fancy and I wouldn't recommend it's dine-in experience. There's usually a long line of people waiting for takeout since that's what the norm is here. The parking lot is small and can be a bit difficult to navigate. The food itself is pretty good. We ordered the chicken seekh kebab which was flavorful, juicy and easily my favorite! It came with a refreshing green chutney. The onion kulcha was soft and paired well with the chicken tikka and ginger chicken. Note that the curries are very oily and I personally didn't love the chicken as it was kind of chewy, but the gravy is yummy. The tandoori chicken was tender and tasty. This was a fairly expensive meal given portion sizes. Overall -- know what you want, call and order takeout and ask for an ETA so you can plan what time to pick it up.

Owner

I came here for iftar during Ramadan and honestly, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The owner (wearing a black shirt) didn't greet us, didn't acknowledge us, and made us feel completely unwelcome. When we politely asked if there was any seating available, instead of helping, he rudely said, "Look for it," with attitude. No hospitality, no basic customer service , especially during Ramadan when you'd expect warmth and respect. As for the food, it didn't make up for the service. It was underwhelming and not worth the price. We wanted to give this place a fair try, but the combination of rude behavior and mediocre food made it a regrettable experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of restaurants that treat their guests with respect and value their customers ,unfortunately, this isn't one of them. I won't be coming back.

My go-to Pakistani restaurant in the TriValley. Good value, tasty food, and fast service, but the dishes can be quite oily. I typically get the Nihari (beef stew) and daal with naan to go. Pro-tip: try the tandoori dishes, and eat on site if possible, especially if you're ordering naan, which is best eaten fresh.

The not so Grand Entrance. Glass sure could use some cleaning

I must add an update in order to be fair to this establishment. Today was my third visit here and again the food was spot on hot, fresh and delicious. Even with their shortcomings noted in my last review, the food is well worth the 40 minute drive. This is coming from a yelper that does not enjoy eating out. Therefore.. Lt. General Shalimar has been promoted to Acting Four Star General. Congratulations General. Now your first order of business is to have a private Clean The Latrine!

Nastiness

For the love of God....don't waste your money, time, or mental health coming to this sad excuse for a restaurant. Waited almost an hour for our large order and management had the audacity to cop an attitude. The food was mediocre, the service was horrendous/racist. If you love authentic Pakistani food go to Zareen's. Honestly, I don't know how they passed their food safety inspection and tax audits.

Non-descript from the outside but the full parking lot said it all. The goat was very good, as well as the curry. Highly recommend.

Food tastes good. But the layer of oil too thick, 3 to 4 millimeters. Not healthy at all.

I was hungry and hoping to eat something substantial. A quick check showed Mirchi Cafe a few hundred feet away, which made me so happy because anyone who's had the Nashta(breakfast) plate there will tell you that's it's an excellent way to break your fast. I went in and got the plate but they were out of Shami (the meat patties), so I had to make do with potato patties. The plate comes with two eggs cooked your way or as an omelet, a whole wheat flatbread , two meat or potato patties and Chai. It was super hot today and the inside could have been cooler temperature wise, but all was forgotten as soon as the plate of food and tea appeared before me(which was quick btw). Paratha (flatbread) was great texture wise and the omelet was also fluffy and flavorful. The potato patties were incredibly crunchy on the outside and perfectly spiced and soft on the inside. The chai was so good it should have its own review. All in all what a great first meal to a whole day of fasting. Restaurent was clean and the restroom and its floors were just wiped down when I went to use it. Shaukat who took my order was super nice and friendly, and the other guy who brought my food over was also efficient and polite.

Food is fresh, chicken pieces are substantial & the flavor is infused w/spices & love. Service was also great, the chef came by to ask if everything was ok. Orders: Malai Garlic Noodle-plump noodles w/a creamy spicy sauce. The chunky pieces of chicken was a pleasant surprise in this economy. Definitely worth a try. Tiki Masala Pizza-infused w/a white sauce, bell pepper, onion w/generous & consistent pieces of chicken, made me want to eat half of the pizza, it was satisfying. Tiki Chicken Masala dish-the naan was freshly made, the sauce was authentic & not watered down. Everything about this dish was amazing. It was nice to try several of the dishes w/my girls. A place to definitely come back to.

I've only had Dave's one other time, at a different location (North Bay), so I had a level of expectation. That location was great, but this one was even better! I got the "One slider, one tender" meal, and it hit the spot. The chicken was bursting with flavor, and the yummy Dave's sauce is a nice contrast. I have a high spiciness tolerance, and let me tell you, the "hot" is hot! I left very satisfied because most places that say "hot" just wind up being mild to me, lol. I'll definitely be back, and I'll try hot again!

Wait isn't THAT fast though for dine in…read more.. but I have something to share.. 1 Star - Extremely Disappointing First Experience This was my first time visiting Dave's Hot Chicken in Dublin, and I was super excited to try it. Unfortunately, Rosa and Diego made the entire experience horrible. I ordered mozzarella sticks with ranch, along with other items. When I walked up to the counter to grab my food, I noticed the ranch was missing, so I asked for it. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they* Rosa and Diego* insisted that I hadn't ordered it rolling their eyes and giving me attitude demanding that I pay an additional $1. Which was absolutely appalling. Like, seriously? Why are you blaming the customer for THEIR mistake instead of trying to resolve the situation? The reason I know I had asked for it when ordering is because he said yes they YES when I asked for ranch. Yet, they kept insisting it was my fault for not ordering it, which was incredibly frustrating. The rule of thumb in customer service is that even if a customer is mistaken, you don't make them feel blamed or embarrassed. You handle the situation with kindness and professionalism. Unfortunately, these employees were cold, rude, and completely dismissive. I want to be clear: this is not about the $1. Obviously, I can afford a dollar. It's about how the situation was handled and the way I was treated as a customer. I was genuinely excited to try this place, but this experience completely ruined my first impression. Based on how I was treated, I won't be coming back. Absolutely pathetic customer service.
