Beef kabob

Very friendly staff. Inside the restaurant is pretty casual and unassuming. Just some tables and booths. The chicken breast and the beef kabob are very good and a great value.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Beef Shank Nihari and the Shalimar Rice. Seasoning was on point and really enjoyed the flavor, texture of the Nihari. That being said the portion was small, although I enjoyed the Nihari sauce - it was 80% of the dish. Solid place to DoorDash from

For food review you can read my review for the Fremont branch. I had no idea that Shalimar has a new branch here in Dublin but I'm always glad when my favorite restaurants are doing well. They closed down a couple of branches so I'm glad they opened one here even though it's kinda far for me. It's a standalone building with its own parking spots and instead of giving you a stand with a number all the seating areas are labeled with numbers. The restaurant is not small but probably best suited for party less than 6. The chicken is still phenomenal and everything tastes the same as the one in Fremont which basically means wonderfully delicious. Just order the chicken legs if this is your first time. Otherwise you'll know what to order.

Best and consistent Pakistani food. The restaurant is no frills. The service subpar but the food will make you comeback over and over.

Actual: 2.5/5 Ordered takeout from here on Christmas eve. It was very busy, which was expected. However it was an abnormally long wait time, we ordered at 6:15 and food was ready at 8. The restaurant itself isn't anything fancy and I wouldn't recommend it's dine-in experience. There's usually a long line of people waiting for takeout since that's what the norm is here. The parking lot is small and can be a bit difficult to navigate. The food itself is pretty good. We ordered the chicken seekh kebab which was flavorful, juicy and easily my favorite! It came with a refreshing green chutney. The onion kulcha was soft and paired well with the chicken tikka and ginger chicken. Note that the curries are very oily and I personally didn't love the chicken as it was kind of chewy, but the gravy is yummy. The tandoori chicken was tender and tasty. This was a fairly expensive meal given portion sizes. Overall -- know what you want, call and order takeout and ask for an ETA so you can plan what time to pick it up.

Owner

I came here for iftar during Ramadan and honestly, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The owner (wearing a black shirt) didn't greet us, didn't acknowledge us, and made us feel completely unwelcome. When we politely asked if there was any seating available, instead of helping, he rudely said, "Look for it," with attitude. No hospitality, no basic customer service , especially during Ramadan when you'd expect warmth and respect. As for the food, it didn't make up for the service. It was underwhelming and not worth the price. We wanted to give this place a fair try, but the combination of rude behavior and mediocre food made it a regrettable experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of restaurants that treat their guests with respect and value their customers ,unfortunately, this isn't one of them. I won't be coming back.

My go-to Pakistani restaurant in the TriValley. Good value, tasty food, and fast service, but the dishes can be quite oily. I typically get the Nihari (beef stew) and daal with naan to go. Pro-tip: try the tandoori dishes, and eat on site if possible, especially if you're ordering naan, which is best eaten fresh.

I must add an update in order to be fair to this establishment. Today was my third visit here and again the food was spot on hot, fresh and delicious. Even with their shortcomings noted in my last review, the food is well worth the 40 minute drive. This is coming from a yelper that does not enjoy eating out. Therefore.. Lt. General Shalimar has been promoted to Acting Four Star General. Congratulations General. Now your first order of business is to have a private Clean The Latrine!

Nastiness

For the love of God....don't waste your money, time, or mental health coming to this sad excuse for a restaurant. Waited almost an hour for our large order and management had the audacity to cop an attitude. The food was mediocre, the service was horrendous/racist. If you love authentic Pakistani food go to Zareen's. Honestly, I don't know how they passed their food safety inspection and tax audits.

I was hungry and hoping to eat something substantial. A quick check showed Mirchi Cafe a few hundred feet away, which made me so happy because anyone who's had the Nashta(breakfast) plate there will tell you that's it's an excellent way to break your fast. I went in and got the plate but they were out of Shami (the meat patties), so I had to make do with potato patties. The plate comes with two eggs cooked your way or as an omelet, a whole wheat flatbread , two meat or potato patties and Chai. It was super hot today and the inside could have been cooler temperature wise, but all was forgotten as soon as the plate of food and tea appeared before me(which was quick btw). Paratha (flatbread) was great texture wise and the omelet was also fluffy and flavorful. The potato patties were incredibly crunchy on the outside and perfectly spiced and soft on the inside. The chai was so good it should have its own review. All in all what a great first meal to a whole day of fasting. Restaurent was clean and the restroom and its floors were just wiped down when I went to use it. Shaukat who took my order was super nice and friendly, and the other guy who brought my food over was also efficient and polite.

I tried the Malai garlic chicken noodles which were better than I thought they would be. It's been a couple of years since we last ate at Sultan's Kebab, but thanks to an Uber Eats promo,…read morewe decided to give them another shot last week. One order turned into two orders in less than a week, so clearly, things escalated quickly. My spouse ordered the spicy lamb shawarma wrap and loved it. The lamb was tasty, and the spice had just the right kick to keep things interesting. I went with the chicken kebab platter, which came with FOUR skewers of big, juicy chicken cubes. Seriously, those chicken chunks were delicious! My platter came with rice, pita, hummus, and a side salad. The rice and kebabs were so satisfying that I was too full to give the pita and hummus the attention they deserved. Sorry, pita. Maybe next time. The salad dressing, on the other hand, wasn't our thing, so unfortunately, the salad didn't make the cut. Naturally, we returned last night because apparently, one successful kebab night wasn't enough. My spouse ordered the same lamb shawarma wrap (when you know what you like, you stick with it), while I switched things up with the salmon kebab platter. It came with two skewers of generously sized salmon cubes. The salmon was a little dry from grilling, but still tasty overall. I also ordered an individual lamb kebab and an individual chicken kebab. Both were good, but the meat portions seemed a little on the small side compared with the platters. Which brings me to my biggest takeaway from this whole kebab adventure: GET. THE. PLATTER. The portions are generous, the meat is delicious, and you get enough food to make you question whether you really needed that pita and hummus after all. The individual kebabs just didn't feel like as good a deal. Two orders in one week, and Sultan's Kebab has officially made its way back into our regular rotation. Uber Eats may have introduced us again, but the kebabs are what will bring us back. Five stars for the food, the generous platters, and giving us a very good reason to loosen our belts.
