It was like any other Shake Shack but large, very clean, and not very busy. I ordered at the kiosk but the girl at the screen was very warm and welcoming. I ordered a regular double shack burger with cherry peppers (my favorite aspect of shake shack) and it came quickly, hot and delicious. Food was good, it's been a while since I've had my smoke shack from when last at Convent Gardens: fries were really fresh and crisp, burger was topping hot and crinkly on the edges (love that), and the shake, well, it's too fresh to enjoy it... Place is nice, has a bit of a worn in look but clean and plenty of chairs and tables, with washrooms very close by. The young lady that took my order was a bit frosty but still nice, took my order and got me my order fairly quickly, absolutely no complaints there. Overall a great experience, and still can't enjoy my shake as it's too cold unless if I get a spoon - and this is also not a complaint too I'll be back for the next times! Shake shack is overall great! The food came quickly and seems like good quality. I got a hot chicken sandwich and added lettuce, tomato, and pickles which I would highly recommend! It was spicy but had actual flavor as opposed to just being spicy. The fries were fresh and crispy. I love their cheese sauce but prefer it on the side so the fries don't get soggy. I LOVE Shake Shack! I'm so happy we finally have a location in Wisconsin. You can't go wrong with a shack burger, cheese fries, and one of their specialty shakes! Their shack burger is a classic burger that is simple yet juicy. I only wish it was bigger. If you're feeling adventurous I would recommend the shack stack. It's their shack burger and shroom burger combined. It's hot and cheesy. Their cheese fries are also generously covered in cheese. I recommend all of their shakes. My favorites have been the holiday sugar cookie and their recent, cookies and cream. The location is great. Parking can be an issue sometimes but not often. I tried shake shack mobile order for the first time with this location. And I'm sad to report I will never be doing that again. I got there at 7:30 on the dot with a text saying my order was ready. I showed the girl at the counter and she said it would just be a few more minutes. I saw three bags in the shelf but she checked them and still said it would be a few moments. I stood to the side and watched about 8 people order in store and get their food before I decided to check in once again. She looked at the bags and realized, ah haaaa, my bag was there after all. She handed it over with no apologize or acknowledgement of her mistake. I wanted to ask for a make over of the food but there were others waiting so i took my cold food and left. I've been to this shake shack before. I often go to shake shack's when I'm in a city with one as my home town doesn't have one. I am a huge advocate of shake shack and talk about it often. But this aaa by far the most disappointing experience I've had. I won't stop going. But I'll avoid the mobile ordering.. One note: the game of thrones dragon glass shake is amazing. I got their crispy chicken sandwich, called their chick'n shack. It comes served on a bun with herbed mayo, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. It was pretty dang good. The chicken tasted as though it had been hand battered and made fresh (rather than frozen). With it, I got an order of their cheese fries. Their fries are crinkle cut and smothered in cheese sauce. All in all, they were pretty solid fries. My dining companion got their portobello burger, which is portobello mushroom cap filled with cheese and then fried. He took one bite and all the cheese filling came flying out the bottom (womp, womp). As some have mentioned the prices are a bit higher than you might expect for fast food (our 3 meals--with two of us sharing a drink--came to $40). The service was a bit on the sluggish side of things, but friendly. All in all, I'd likely stop by for some frozen treats this summer but not sure I'd do a full blown meal there again. read more

Shake Shake uses Uber Eats, they are allowed to pick up multiple orders before delivering yours. I received my food 50 minutes after I received notification that it was in my delivery persons hands and on it's way. the delivery driver stated she had another order to pick up at Ian's pizza at noon before delivering to me...but my order was ready at 11:24. Needless to say, my food was cold and disgusting. Although cold or not, I do have to say the food is overated. Small burger that's maybe a tiny better than McDonalds, but cost way more. Delivery is no means the fault of Shake Shack (well, it's their choice to use Uber Eats), but just wanted to let you know, don't get delivery; pick up or eat there instead if you want an overpriced burger. read more

Stopped in for a shake after a nearby coffee place was closed for the day but had some time to kill and a craving for something sweet. My daughter loves shakes so figured we would try the Shake Shack. Inside it was bright and kinda industrial looking too, and pretty busy. The line wasn't too bad when we arrived but while we were sitting a long line formed and remained until we left. We were going to get a concrete but after seeing the size/price ratio, ended up deciding on a shake. One thing I would suggest is having the featured shakes posted somewhere instead of just listing "featured shakes" on the menu and hoping the customer catches/ notices it on the rotating ads (which I didn't). The cashier listed a couple off that were similar to the concrete we were going to get (shake attack) and we ordered the mocha cookie dough shake. Off to our table with a pager we went to wait for it to buzz. I thought the use of old bowling lanes to make tables here was cool too. The atmosphere wasn't too loud and I enjoyed being able to look out at the street while we waited. About 5 minutes later, shake in hand and boy was it amazing!!! It tasted like a coffee s'more and both my daughter and I couldn't get enough. I'm not a big shake person but this was really, really good! The staff was really friendly, speed of service was good, atmosphere and cleanliness of restaurant was great too. Shake Shack, nothing special here as far as I am concerned. Just a chain restaurant that serves up good ole' American burgers and shakes. I was anxiously awaiting this spot as I heard so much about it. Well it's all hype as I found out for myself. The place was packed but the Shack had an excellent rhythm going on to get the masses in and out. You had to wait a few for a table, which was no issue and I think they did an good job for just opening. The place itself has a nicely situated spot on Buffalo and Water and has giant windows with a beautiful view of the downtown Milwaukee scene. Aside from the crowd, this would be a great lunch spot to pop into and chill for a few. The food came out relatively fast, considering how crowded the place was. I had a double shack burger, which was good. The meat tasted fresh and it was cooked to perfection. Also had the fries with cheese and bacon. Also good but nothing earth shattering here. The salted caramel shake I particularly enjoyed. It came as advertised and was a solid choice. Wife had the portabella mushroom burger. This again was a solid choice and she enjoyed it. Overall, the food was not bad but when I stop and think what the cost would have been I would just rather go to a real restaurant and get more of a one of a kind meal. Shake Shack I do welcome you to Wisconsin but not sure if this chain would really be a destination for the goods in my book. You just are A-OK to me... read more

I attended the Friends and Family event last night thanks to an invite via YelpMKE. The line was out the door when I arrived, and I thought I'd be waiting at least 30 minutes to order and at least another 30 minutes for my food, but the line moved pretty fast, I think just over 10 minutes and only a about a 15 minute wait for the food. I was impressed, considering it was a soft opening and the place was hopping with customers, so the GM and management team did a pretty good job getting the staff ready. The first $15 of our order was comp'd by Shake Shack and any amount over $15 would be donated to a local charity (I think she was describing a community garden initiative). I went over by $4, so I rounded it up to a $5 donation. I ordered a single Shackburger, chili cheese dog, and cheese fries, and Chocolate Peppermint Shake, one of the 3 seasonal specialty shakes. The burger was cooked to my liking with a pink center. The meat tasted fresh, as did the lettuce and tomato. I also liked the patty to bun ratio. This was one of the better fast food/fast casual chain restaurant burgers I've had. A friend told me the chicken sandwich is excellent, so I plan to try that on a future visit. The fries are crinkle cut style, which I'm a fan of, but I prefer the thinner crinkle cut fries because they are generally crispier. These were crispy and lightly salted, so I liked the fries, but I just thought the cheese sauce was ok. It looked a bit pale and didn't have any distinctive flavor. It reminded me of Fuddruckers cheese sauce. I will just get regular fries next time, or maybe try the chili fries without the cheese sauce. The chili cheese dog was also just ok. The chili had a kick to it, and I already told you what I thought of the cheese sauce. I'll order a plain hot dog next time, to give it a try, since the company started as a hot dog cart, originally. The shake met my expectations. I enjoyed it and would order it again. They offer several other shake flavors, including peanut butter, which I'd like to try. I came here for the soft opening for lunch. I came in just before a big rush of people and since I had a big headache, I asked for my meal to go. I ordered the single Shackburger and added bacon. My burger was delicious. Fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce, a good amount of cheese and perfectly seasoned meat on top of a potato bun. I also ordered the cheese and bacon fries and a strawberry shake. My fries were crispy with the perfect amount of salt. The cheese sauce is made with their special blend of cheddar and American cheese sauce and was tasty and the bacon topped it off. The strawberry shake was hand spun and amazing! All in all, my lunch was absolutely delicious. Great addition to the Third Ward I stopped in as part of their Friends and Family soft opening but have eaten at another location while traveling in the past. The menu and offerings are straight-forward, but I like that they had non-beef options like the chicken brat and other sausages. On this visit I got a Shackburger, fries and peanut butter shake while my family selected some other offerings. The burger was perfectly cooked - it's a little smaller than what you'd get at Milwaukee staples like Kopps but the quality was outstanding. The order of fries is huge, plenty for sharing if dining with another. OMG the shake was the bomb. Staff was super friendly. The lines were out the door but people kept moving. I expect it will be super busy for the next few weeks... I'm quite worried having SS around the corner from my office. This makes it super easy for great cheap eats at lunch. read more

The teenager and I judged the right time to go, hitting the door right at 5:00. Yes there was a line but it moved quickly. The line was out the door when we left. I really appreciated that they did not charge for anything and that they were taking donations for their charity...class act! Great way to let the neighborhood try your food and make an impression. I had never heard of Shake Shack but seriously where has this burger been all of my life? We ordered a burger, fries, and of course you have to try the shakes! I could not eat the entire burger but the teenager woofed his down like food was going out of style. Burgers were juicy, and the toppings were fresh! Fries were the crinkle kind and cooked perfectly (I almost lost a hand trying to eat any because the teenager was in full beast mode). I took my shake with me because honestly I was stuffed before I got through half of the burger. I put my shake in the freezer for another day but not before I had a sip. I love salted caramel, and this shake was worthy of a place named Shake Shack! The servers were so welcoming and friendly and I loved the modern look and decorations. I'd heard of Shake Shack before but never really knew much about it before this one opened. I like that they donate to local charities and support their comunity. I'm happy they have a vegetarian option other than grilled cheese. I tried the Shroom Burger, fries and a concrete mixer. This was during their soft opening so I will not comment on every aspect of my visit. The burger was good and I'd get it again but a little too much cheese in my opinion. The toppings were lacking, I had one tiny tomato slice and a small piece of lettuce. My pic makes it look like it had more but really, it didn't. The people I went with had burgers and enjoyed their food. The fries were good and taste like Culver's yet somehow a little better? The concrete mixer was kind of flavorless...not something I would get again. The decor is nice and fresh, the employees were friendly and ready to rock. Perhaps it's that living in Wisco makes me have crazy high standard for burgers and fries and shakes. There are so many standouts in Milwaukee and it's surrounding neighborhoods (Oscars for one). This was my first shake shack burger, and it was good. But it didn't knock my socks off. The tomato was ripe and the pickles crisp, I'm down with the shack sauce. The patties themselves were fine, I feel like I get more crispy smashed patties from Culver's. The fries were super crisp. The chocolate shake was fine, but as others have noted no kid size so it was way too much for my kid. The lemonade was a standout, but was without a lid. When I went to ask for one the counter acted like it was a major inconvenience. Bonus points for the compostable straws. And their beer? Oof. $5.69ish for a beer, I'm not a cheap bastard when it comes to beer but that was too steep for a middle of the road nothing special beer. I wanted to love it. But it was just okay.
