The shop smells heavenly when you walk in and that enticed the 3 of us to each order a waffle bowl for our yummy ice-cream. I was excited to see they have so many great flavors and they carry my favorite peanut butter and chocolate. My son ordered Huckleberry heaven and hubby had the cherry Bordeaux. The gentleman behind the counter was not super friendly or welcoming. Maybe he was annoyed because we all ordered waffle bowls that he was making anyway.

It was heartbreaking to see them closed for nearly a year following the crash that kept their doors shut, but the shop looks great and the community is lucky to have them back. The menu is packed with choices, and there are so many ice cream flavors to choose from. I went with the Bordeaux Cherry in a fresh, house-made waffle bowl, and it was a delectable treat. The staff behind the counter were not only friendly but also very funny, which made the experience even better. There is plenty of seating both inside and out for enjoying your dessert. It is such a welcoming environment, and we are so happy to see this Hillsboro staple back in action!

Parking can be funky since there are many different businesses in this shopping complex. We were greeted warmly walking in and the signs help with the process. The store was small but colorful and they also had a circular chalk board kids can draw on which was a nice touch. The staff also explained the new app rewards program when we were checking out. They had seasonal flavors and only one non-dairy sorbet option. It's great to be able to swirl together 2 different flavors and lots of different toppings to choose from! The small (which is a "single scoop") was huge! Parking is plentiful, the store was clean and neat, the server a bit grumpy but maybe she just needed to take a break and get some ice cream. It was a beautiful spring day so we sat outside on a bench to eat our melty cones in the sun - a treat this time of year in the PNW. Can't wait to go back and try something else!

I was confused even just walking in. I was seeing an almost warehouse feeling space versus a cozy normal ice cream place where you can actually see any ice cream. Instead it's just a counter where very abrupt people in uniforms are asking you what you want. A bunch of other people are scooping ice cream from huge drums. Everything is setup like some insane Santa's workshop but it felt very cold - like get your sh*t and get out! I went in, desperately needing the restroom which was a lot to get to since it was through a crazy barrier, past a lingering family with a teenager determined to stand in every place I was trying to walk until her mom finally grabbed her and moved her for me. Then I turned the corner to discover an excessively long hallway, leading to 1 bathroom door at the very end of the very long, very very long hallway. I was so relieved to get back to take a photo of the ice cream flavor wall, really noting that though they've been here a long time, the space feels cold, uninviting and the people who work there don't help that. I really wanted to leave... I was annoyed discovering, I was at the wrong place, but honestly had that - even with you scooping in front of me, I feel like you're somehow spitting in it - it really felt that unfriendly up in there... but I imagine most people couldn't care less about me or my business. 3 people sort of 'helped' me and each was even less friendly than the last. I cannot imagine a reason to go back.

I wanted to try most of those flavors. Sadly, none of these were available when we visited. Instead, my husband, daughters, and I shared a flight with waffle cone: birthday cake and blackberries, huckleberry oat crisp with foraged porcini, salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough, and chocolate gooey brownie. Not quite as unique as the flavors mentioned above but these were still out of the ordinary and very delectable. My favorite is the huckleberry oat crisp with foraged porcini. My parents had the dairy-free strawberry and coconut water sorbet and hazelnut cookies and cream in a waffle bowl. My mom is usually indifferent to ice cream but she said this was exceptional. There are plenty of outdoor seating with a mini splash pad. It was crowded when we visited on a late Friday afternoon.

You can get whatever ice cream flavors you want. I almost went completely traditional with three scoops of vanilla but could not resist a scoop of their Reeses peanut butter cup for one...vanilla for the other two. Toppings?? Pineapple, strawberry and chocolate... a great banana and topped with chopped almonds and cherries. It was pretty perfect. They also had a free scoop with a $15 purchase so I 'just had to' grab a Reeses peanut butter cup parfait to go into the freezer for later along with my free scoop of Jamoca almond fudge. They have some great sundae suggestions and their adds are top notch. I also just discovered that they have ice cream bars which look pretty great since two of them are favorite ice cream flavors of mine with a chocolate coating.
