The atmosphere is pretty cool here. I love the way they have branded themselves by their logo and even names on the menu items. It's great for the family. Food is tasty,shakes and concretes are good. No complaints about that whatsoever. The only complaint I do have is the staff. The greeter guy at the register is awesome. Didn't get his name but wears glasses. The people making the food is what bothered me. They didn't mess up my order at all but just waiting and watching them was horrible. (I'm here on a business trip so this is my third time here). If a customer had a complaint or they got the customer order wrong then they had so much attitude with having to fix it. No customer service what so ever. I've heard a few complaints from them as well - " we work for free" -"we slaving" They don't even try and hide it whatsoever. Kinda puts a damper on a customer if they happen to notice. Big shout to Henry, who was kind of like a Host at Shake Shack, to process the order- the way they have it is someone has a wireless terminal to process your payment with out having to stand at the counter, but instead a few feet in front of it. We were able to sit inside with plenty of room and they had dividers up in case. Henry brought the food to our table which eliminated having to go back and forth once we were seated, and we felt very welcome back after it has been a while! Shakes are as good as always, as are the burgers and fries, and as for an update due to recent times- its good and clean and seems to have the bases covered. read more

Shake Shack is a solid 3 stars for me -- it's not amazing food, it's not bad food. It's perfectly fine for a quick meal from a burger joint once in a while. Pros: convenient location within Legacy place, quick service when the restaurant is empty/has only a few people, tasty food, lots of seating, relatively clean (tables and floors are always spotless), somewhat rotating menu of food and drinks/desserts, has online ordering through an app that is very reliable. Cons: service is brusque, parts of the restaurant get messy (like the bathrooms and condiment counters), condiments and napkins are often missing or empty, can get quite crowded during peak meal times with a lengthy wait for food. read more

I have never understood the fascination with Shake Shack. Everyone raves. Everyone tells me it's a must eat chain. I'd heard much the same about other burger joints as they opened up, but they always feel far short of they hype. So I was hesitant. Then one night we decided to give it a shot. I cannot overstate how wrong I was to delay trying this place out. It's maybe not everything I was promised (man of the friends who spoke so glowingly of it were influenced by fond childhood memories that sometimes make things better than they really were), but boy is it close. The burgers are the star. They're as close to that family weekend cook out taste as I've ever found in a restaurant much less a chain. The shakes, despite being given top billing in the name, are good but not spectacular. Their fries.. let's just say you want them. All of them. Order extras. If you like a good burger and excellent fries, this is definitely one of the best options, maybe the best option, in the Dedham area. Well I do love Shake shack and this one is within walking distance of my daughter's apartment, so how can you go wrong ? She just had a baby so I walked over for takeout. It was delish but as I'm walking in the cold back to her place, I wish the burgers were packed in a better insulated wrapper fully covering the burger so I didn't have to come back and micro it for 10 sec to warm it up! It was still yummy! Update a few months later: I sent my husband over while we were babysitting to grab burgers. On a Saturday night, he waited 35 minutes in line then another 30 for 2 burgers and one shake! Even in NYC, where we've waited that long in line , our food has come out within 10 minutes. I wanted a burger for an early linch and had planned in Joes American Bar & Grill but reading Yelp reviews they have gone downhill so went to ShakeShack as their bacon burger with chopped cherry peppers is great. Place was quiet as it was about 11:30. Cashier was ok but mumbled so I had to have him repeat questions. Not inexpensive at all. Got my buzzer and saw a manager looking guy pour a half tea, half lemonade. I figured it was mine and waited for it. It might have been but it got put on a shelf. I used the Mens room and grabbed a seat. A few minutes later my buzzer went off and I went to the counter where I was ignored by the large staff for a minute or so. My burger was sitting on the back counter. Finally someone walked over, picked it up and called my name. I guess I just assumed that the person who a activated my buzzer would have had it at the front counter expecting an imminent arrival??? Burger was hot and was very good. Fries were good but would have been better if they were hot. Perhaps the fries were prepped right after my drink and sat out while the burger cooked? The employees all seemed to be having a great time with one another and likely would have had a better time if it wasn't for customers who insisted on interrupting their fun to have lunch? I went to Shake Shack a few times right around their grand opening at Legacy Place, and then took a break. Not because of anything under their control, it was just an issue that I would see someone EVERY single time I went. I live about ten minutes away, and the entire town of Westwood shops at Legacy Place, making it not my preferred place (for some reason, it annoys me to see people I know...). However, I've been coming back recently, and it's been better than ever. Maybe it's just because I haven't been here in a long time, but the burgers have improved and gotten at least a little bigger, and the milkshakes, fries and other menu items also have seem to be just as good or better as before. Maybe not the most healthy option for food at Legacy Place, but definitely one of the fastest and most delicious. Interior of the restaurant is modern, large, and pretty spacious considering the way it looks from the outside. Bright, and an everlasting cool design. Parking is still an issue (unfortunately, it will always be an issue for Legacy Place). My best suggestion is that during peak times, to park in the parking garage. Staff are always friendly, service is accurate and fast, and the food is better than some of the other burger joints of this type. 5 stars for Shake Shack. I don't think I'll be taking any long "vacations" from this place anymore... it's just too good! read more

Great location but consistently long waits whether there are 50 customers or five. On our most recently visit the restaurant was empty but we still waited over 30 minutes for our order. The staff of six were all in the back room while only one worker was out front on his phone. The restaurant was filthy: dirty tables, little on the floor both in the dining room and kitchen. When I finally inquired about our order he acted surprised and went to get backup. The manger? came out and offered up "we're waiting for your drinks" as an excuse for the delay ( we ordered lemonade) and then went and grabbed our order that had been sitting up under the heatlamp for who knows how long. I complained to a worker and they refused to offer me another one or my money back. The employees were extremely rude, unhelpful and combative. Went to sit at a table that apparently required social distance rules, enforced by a small sticker which was barely noticeable. Employee walked up to us and condescendingly told us to move. A stand-up sign would have been more noticeable, or better yet, block off the booth or add plexi glass between booths. The wood siding on our seats was also loose and caused a plank of wood to fall on me. Our Shack sauces were also forgotten, and when we got them, the consistency was too thick and too mayo-based. I had one of the worst food service experiences here recently. We ordered online, and when I arrived my food was ready but our shakes were not. I asked one of the staff about the shakes, and he pointed out one shake and said that was ours. When I pointed out that it was melted, he responded "Well only half melted". After he agreed to remake my shakes, the first came out in about 2-3 minutes, but the second took much longer (probably another 8-10 minutes). When I asked the crew member who was helping me if it would be ready soon, he asked the crew at the shake machine if it was ready, and they found it waiting on a shelf nearby. Clearly, it had been sitting for some time. Finally, when I got home, my wife said that her (now cold) order was incorrect. In the middle of all of this, there was at least one crew member on the phone. The lack of process and attention to customers was particularly bad, especially given that we paid $30 for our food and could have gotten better burgers and fries from a local bar that does takeout for less than that. read more

The hype is there. I have heard it from many friends who live in the NY area. I tried it and have to say i'm let down. After paying $6.50 for a shake that was the size of a average fast food small, I was not impressed by the quality. I would instead recommend the ice cream joint right across the way. JP Licks. Im not sure if it is a chain, but it has a more local feel, the prices are lower and the menu is more creative. As far as the food goes, thats overpriced as well, but its on the same level as Five Guys so I won't knock it. Discovered shake shack in Vegas and fell in love. Was excited to see that there was one only 25 minutes away from me. The smokeshack burger is phenomenal. The cherry peppers give it just the perfect amount of spice. The cheese fries are good but they over did the cheese. The reason for the missing star is the price. While I wasn't surprised by the prices in Vegas because everything is expensive there, I was surprised the price was still pretty much the same at this location. But I can always count on a delicious hot meal every time I stop in. The Smoke Shack is one of my faves. Today I went with the Roadside Shack. Caramelized onions with bacon top this tasty burger. A simple yet delightful flavor. Fries are hot with a slight crisp. But the main reason I keep coming back here and giving my money to this company? The people. What a warm and welcoming staff! I know that good help is hard to find, and I know all to well that working in the food industry can be one of the most stressful and thankless jobs. I really enjoy the burgers here. The sauce they put on it and the burger itself is awesome. It is not big though, so if you are hungry you should probably order 2 of them. I have't had anything else there. Next to grilling at home, this is the best burger. Much better than Five Guys. Parking can be difficult at Legacy Place. If you go on the weekend or other busier times, it is definitely hard to find parking. I usually go at off times so I don't have a problem. read more

A kitchen that appears to be over packed with staff and nobody cleaning those disgusting stained tables. Also, the staff grabs those vibrating pagers to place it back into the basket after the customer picks up their orders and then proceed handling other food by having contact with customer's french fries which is basically contaminating your food. If you have an upset stomach that's probably it. Obviously there's something wrong with the management there. Another thing, the hallway leading to the restroom smells like rotten piss. Reached front of line and asked if i should just push the button or order in person and was told that it wouldnt matter - would take 10-12 mins either way so I might as well push the button After waiting 20 mins i asked a staff member who looked at the board and said a few minutes. I was so excited to find a Shake Shack near our hotel in Norwood because we loved our first experience at one in Madison Square Park in NYC. I was worried this one would be as busy as our first Shake Shack, but there were only a couple people in line at dinner time. Yes, Dedham is much smaller than NYC, but that was probably my first sign that something was wrong. For a place as uppity as Shake Shack, I was extremely underwhelmed by the service when we got to the counter. I could barely hear the girl working the cash register as she mumbled. She didn't ask how we were and seemed generally in a bad mood. Unimpressed. Then, we got our food. The burgers were thin. The fries were like cardboard. And my shake was wrong! When I went back to the counter to get the correct shake, the girl running the register wouldn't even look at me. I had to get one of the cooks to fix my order. When I told the cook what was wrong, she said she would fix it for me, like she was doing me some favor correcting her restaurant's mistake. No, I'm sorry you didn't have the correct drink while you were eating your food. No, I'm sorry you had to stand at the counter and wait for so long while our rude cashier ignored you. But I did at least get my drink fixed. The salted caramel shake that I originally ordered, however, was extremely delicious. If you want a better Shake Shack experience, visit the Madison Park Shake Shack, and bring your dog with you for a poochino! read more

I loved this place so much I just drove 35 minutes to come. Was surprised it was empty and not the usual crowds. Thought the cashier made a mistake when she said it was $38 for me and my son. Looked up online and saw that they raised their prices to pay their workers more. It is just too expensive now for a place where you stand up to order for me to go back. Mentioned this to a friend, and he said that he stopped going to the Harvard Square on when they limited their late-night hours after MA raised the minimum wage. Also said the employees were not able to keep it clean. They need to lower their prices by 25% for me to want to go more. read more

This place has goooooooooooood burgers and goooooooooooood shakes. OK so here is the deal, I got the double shake shack burger and it was everything it was supposed to be: juicy, tasty, and greasy. Everything you want in a burger. The only thing that bothered me about it was.....and I hate to say it...........The burger was a little too greasy. (I know, I know) but unfortunately it was. If I was to go here again it would be for the shakes. The shake was on point: very tasty, very creamy and just divine. My burger complimented it. I think Five Guys burgers are better in my opinion. Food was fine. Staff was not. The tv was playing footage of a man shooting himself in the head and the aftermath of his bloodied home on police body cam footage. Followed up by loads of gory imagery of his freshly shot out eye. When asked to change the channel the response was very rude. I generally like shake shack burgers but this location is dirty and smells like pee. This is not a one time incident in that I feel it gets worse every time I go. Originally the smell was mostly near the booths/tables closest to the restrooms but now the entire place smells like urine. My family and friends were there yesterday and we all agreed it felt like we were eating insidea porta potty. I hate to leave a bad review but I hope it inspires them to resolve the awful smell.
