First time there (chestnut hill) the people were super helpful and nice, but I never got my text notification. It wasn't busy at all. When I realized it should have happened, I went and picked up my food which was waiting. No one was around so i just took it and left. My first time at a Shake Shack. I'm not sure what all of the raving is about as it reminded me of numerous other burger places that serve shakes. Clean store with plenty of seating. The woman behind the counter was nice but not overly friendly. There was no line so I'm not sure why she hurried us through. Ended up only trying a salted caramel shake. Oh man I enjoyed my burger. The shack stack. A normal cheeseburger with a deep fried mushroom inside wow. I usually hate mushrooms but this time it was bomb and I barely tasted it LOL. The meat was cooked medium rare I believe too! It was huge too and worth the $9 I paid. Flavor-wise I didn't get anything special or crazy out of it, other than it tasted like a good fresh burger. It's not "line around the block" good, but I will say they served me the best Mushroom Burger I've ever had (being deep-fried might have something to do with that). Wifey thought her Smokehouse Burger was too heavy on the cherry peppers. We both loved the Shack Sauce. Portions are small for what I'm paying, especially since everything is a la carte, but I know I'm also paying for the name so, bygones. The cheese fries were fine--a large handful of well-fried crinkle-cut fried with your everyday cheese sauce drizzled on top, nothing that I can't essentially get anywhere else. Yum yum yum!!! I didn't know what to expect when I first walked in to the establishment, but I was pleasantly surprised!! The interior turns fast food eating into a fancier dining experience! No lousy McDonald's lighting or hard plastic seats and tables! I had the smokehouse burger and it did not disappoint.the meat was juicy and well seasoned and it was spicy! It was time to find out why the Shake Shack was so popular. I finished my meal and am still wondering. I was stunned and thrilled when I saw they had Vienna Beef (VB) hotdogs. We are far from VB's hometown, Chicago, and I thought this would be great. Well, not so great. First of all, I am not even sure they were VB hotdogs because they were so salty. One of the people who works here said customers complain that the hamburgers are too salty. What do they do to make hotdogs extra salty? The fries are supposed to be spectacular but again, they were disappointing. They were okay but not fantastic. Very simply, they were not burn-your-mouth hot. On a scale of 1 to 10, the crinkle cut fries were almost a 7. The prices are reasonable so I will come back and try again. I kept hearing the hype about Shake Shack. My friends love it, I find it okay. I had it the first time in Harvard Square, and I thought it was hyped. Yesterday, I went to the Legacy place location. I got the single SmokeShack, and a side of fries. It was pretty good. Not as good as Smashburger or Wahlburgers! I decided to get the 50/50 since my mom got the Draught Rootbeer. The 50/50 was okay, but my mom's rootbeer was my favorite. I thought the interior was nice, it's a little dark. The only downside was that the pager they gave us did not buzz, so I did not know my food was ready until they started calling my name. I would return however, and I find it adorable that they have treats for your dog too! read more

Just as good, if not better than the one in NYC. My family's favorite? Smokestack add onion. It is a cheeseburger with shack sauce, smoked Applewood bacon and cherry peppers. Cherry peppers might be a little bit spicy to those not accustomed to a lottle spicy (such as children) but it is the best thing on the menu. The fries were surprisingly crispy (they are NOT crispy at the Chestnut Hill or Time Square locations). They just opened so time will tell if they can keep the food quality up. Gave the Shack a whirl. I had the shack down in NYC at Citi Field back when it opened. It was ok, didnt blow my socks off.... So when they started moving this way I decided to go. It was 1130am a week ago, and I was hungry between meetings so I went in. I got a cheeseburger with fries. Again, I liked the burger but I did not see what the big deal was regarding the burger. Personally I like Tasty Burger and In-Out Burger much more then these burgers. They were good, but I would not stand for hours in line for it. This is the worst shake shack I've ever been to. Not only is everyone minus the young man taking the order incompetent, they were clearly drinking on the job. I found my self walking into shake shack only to be drooled at by the cashier ( a dumbfounded look on her face). Finally she noticed I was the only one in line and decided to ask if I needed help.??? The other employees seemed to be distracted by the fact that their friends were talking to them over the counter. Every time I come here the service is horribly slow. Today I ordered ahead for pickup and it was still 25 minutes late being prepared. Update: Shake Shack reached out to me and sent me a gift card to return and try them again. It was appreciated and all went well and I had no issues. Don't waste your time. This is my second bad experience here. First one was on a busy Saturday....I chalked up the long wait and cold food to being a busy weekend. Today, I gave it second chance...it's a weekday at 2pm after the lunch rush. It took a half hour for cheese fries and a lemonade. I'm not impressed. I've been to another Shake Shack and remembered it being ok so I brought my cousin for the first time to the one in Dedham. We ordered the cheddar burger and it was ok not great. The meat was way too dry and the cheese was mediocre at best. I'm thinking the fries were frozen and not fresh like 5 Guys but I could be wrong. The biggest loser was the mango lemonade which wasn't sweet at all. It tasted like it's been sitting for awhile. This is the first time I order a take out from Dedham Shake Shack after 2 months quarantine. I was very excited and I ordered a smoke shake and a regular shake. When I got home, I found it the Smoke shake is missing the bacon. Bacon is major the reason I ordered that burger and it is more expensive than the regular one. It is very disappointing. However, It is way too far and waste of my time to go back for a change. Please look at your order carefully next time when you make your orders. There is nothing worse than finding out your order was wrong after you drive a long way home and tried to enjoy your food. I am not sure if I want to order a take out from this Shake Shack anymore. Shake Shack blew me away on my first visit. I went during their opening weekend at the Dedham/Legacy Place location and had low expectations on how my experience would unfold. The line was out the door and I figured it would be at least 30 minutes before I made my way to the front, ordered and was able to find a table. Much to my surprise I was sitting with my order in about 10-12 minutes (even with the dreaded post order pager we recevied). The food was much better than I expected given the hype that I had to suffer through for 2 years from family and friends who were able to find a location. I got a Smokestack, flat top dog, Peanut Butter Shake and an order of crinkle fries with cheese. Each item was prepared perfectly and tasted uniquely delicious. Nothing was over or under done and all items had the reasonably expected portions of toppings (i.e. not too much cheese on the fries or dog where you can't pick it up, and not too much peppers/sauce on the burger that you can't taste the other ingredients). My only qualm about the food was that my shake was too thick for my liking but as previously mentioned tasted great. Given the age of the staff, everyone was pleasant and attentive ( I asked for extra Shake Sauce, and a side of cheese) considering the amount of people they were serving not a single one of them appeared to be unhappy to be there or came off like they were forced to smile or say Thank you/Your welcome. This was also to my surprise due to most of my other interactions I've had at other burger places (Specifically 5 guys & B-Good) where their staff (as well as their food) is bland, un-motivating and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I have heard many good things about this restaurant. I have been meaning to try it for a while. I was a having a lazy Sunday so I decided to take my mom there for lunch. The place was pretty busy for an early Sunday afternoon. We had a great weather day so some people were sitting outside. The restaurant was very clean and there were a few menus to look at. They even offer a small menu for dogs! How cool is that? I didn't see a childrens menu though? I had a chicken hot dog plain and some of their curly fries. The hot dog could have had more flavors. They did not offer any topping with it. I just had it with yellow mustard. My mom had a cheeseburger which looked plump and juicy. She is a picky eater so when she said she liked it I was happy. The ordering process is fast they give you a pager when your order is ready. I didn't get a shake, but they do offer a large variety of different shakes to choose from to have that All American burger joint experience. There is ample seating for large parties and small booths also. I think I will go back and order a burger. read more
