Place an order on Saturday for lunch and it told me to come pick it up around 12:45 PM . I didn't get my order until around 1:20 PM , so I had to wait an additional 40 minutes to get the order. I ordered all the new items from the new gochujang series (fries, nuggets, chicken sandwich). The sandwich comes with their new sauce and some kimchi. To me it didn't taste like gochujang and was closer to a sweet and sour sauce. The kimchi did not taste like kimchi at all and it had a mild pickles flavor to it. If you like sweet and sour chicken, then you'll like the sandwich. The fries and the nuggets are the same as the regular except they come with the new gochujang sauce. It was very watery which is not what I expected from seeing other users photos. I got the order and it didn't come with any sauce for either one, which defeats the purpose of ordering the gochujang version through the app. Overhead other customers not get any of their gochujang sauce so it seems like a systematic issue with the ordering system. read more

Have visited many of their locations around the Boston area and it does seem like they're mostly the same with minor differences. One orders at the counter and pays, then is handed an electronic buzzer device that will go off once your food is ready so you can pick it up at the counter. Love their curly fries and cheese as well as their cheeseburgers burgers overall. Easy to ask for custom orders at the cash register and have always had my order come out perfect. The 3 stars is due to the food presentation / service overall and the pricing. Noticed several times that workers make a drink or milkshake right away when a ticket is served, the issue with that is that it sits for the five minutes that your burger is cooking. After receiving very melted ice creams or milkshakes that were liquid I stopped ordering as I could always see my cup watering down in the kitchen (they don't serve it up on the counter unless all the food is out - in my experience). The presentation could also sometimes be nicer, I get its a burger and fries but once you're paying around $15 per meal combo I expect a clean non-greasy tray at least. Overall I will continue to visit because I love their fries and burgers - but will do so even more sparingly than I would like to because the pricing is very high from soda to burgers. I came to Shake Shack with a few of my colleagues from the near by RevD Spin studio in legacy place. The line was very short and it was moderately full as well. There is plenty of setting inside with booths, tables, high tables and outside seating on the front patio. I can imagine during the summer time, the outside seating is an ideal spot. I ordered the Crackin Chicken with fries and a drink. The meal came out quickly, and the presentation was very nice as well. The sandwich was solid and the chicken was very fresh and juicy. The fries were golden brown, with a nice crunch to them but soft inside. My colleagues also got burgers and chicken sandwich's and were all very pleased. Went to order takeout today around 1240pm, and given it's an open kitchen you can see directly inside. All 3 young men directly preparing the food did not have the masks worn properly (only the gentleman on the other side bagging did.) The masks were below the nose. I understand it is hot, but please ensure food safety first. Parking can be tricky at Legacy Place so I recommend going straight to the garage since one of the stairwell exits is literally right next door to Shake Shack. I ordered the Shack burger which was a cheeseburger with bacon caramelized onions. Can you really go wrong? The burger was greasy deliciousness and I wish I was eating another one right now. The peanut butter shake was the perfect compliment to the tasty, tasty, burger. My friends got some of the specialty holiday shakes and they also really enjoyed them as well. I guess I am a purist when it comes to that type of thing. If I am in Legacy Place it will be hard to eat anywhere else. The interior is bigger than you would think from the outside. I was there on a crowded shopping day and everyone seemed to find a seat without a problem even if it was the last one open at the moment. My wife and I went there today for lunch around 12:30. We were greeted by a very nice guy. (Don't know his name). We order and he repeated our order to make sure everything was right. Not only did he nail it, my wife and I both work in a kitchen. We watched him change his gloves, and take the trash out, do bathroom duty, and take care of guests and change gloves and washed hands because of the glass that everyone can see. I never write online reviews, but after having A few bad experiences with this location, I feel it is necessary for management to understand what is going on in their establishment. Working in the plaza going to Shake shack is one of the most convenient things to grab for lunch especially when in a rush or when you have to feed multiple people. Last week my boss and I went to Shake shack to order lunch for us and five other employees. We had ordered our food and were told that they would be about a 30 minute wait we agreed to the wait and decided to stay until our food was ready. After about 45 minutes they had told us that their machines had gone down and that they could not see anybody's order and that the wait would be longer. Working in the industry I understand that things happen and that it would only take a little bit longer for food. We had waited about 15 more minutes before we asked employees how much longer they think our food would be. They had later responded saying that our order was not in the system at all. At this point me and my boss agreed that we had been there too long and to ask for a refund. Since they had not started our order anyways. The manager on duty didn't seem to have any recollection as to what was going on and that people were waiting for over an hour for their food. Although I was upset with my last experience at Shake shack the food there is generally Good for what it is and it's good when you're in a rush. I decided to stop by there for lunch today after my shift. I have a pretty long commute so I decided to eat in the car on my way home once I started eating my burger I realize that it was completely undercooked and was almost raw. I would like to say that I am generally pretty easy to please and do not get upset when it comes to places like this because I understand that it is considered "fast food". I loved this location. Legacy Place is just fun and bustling. Parking was easy and free in the garage even on a busy Saturday afternoon. We waited 1 - 2 minutes for a table, got situated, and then we ordered. The line seemed long, but moved along very quickly. My son enjoyed a rousing game of foosball with other kids who were eating there. We played again after we ate, and that was so fun. They give you a buzzer when you order -- more relaxing than waiting for your number to be yelled out at Five Guys, and the food was out in 10 minutes or so. I haven't eaten here ever before (only in NYC), so we decided that Five Guys and Shake Shack are a draw. I like the seating way better at SS. . . so much more comfortable and eye-appealing. My mom and son loved their burgers (more than 5G). I don't eat meat, and I loved the Shroom Burger way more than the grilled cheese I get at 5G. The fries at 5G are way better, but the SS cheese fries and regular fries were fine. And, the SS shake is much smaller than 5G. . . but also good, and I like all the flavors that you can order. I love this place! Super cute, very nice aesthetic. I love the shroom burger, which has a crispy breaded, fried portobello stuffed with cheese instead of a hamburger patty, and lettuce and tomato as usual. It's delicious and a great option for vegetarians and meat eaters alike! The fries were perfectly crispy but still soft inside and the chocolate shake was delicious and a classic. The only downside is that their menu is only on the side wall and there is not a lot of room to line up, so when the place gets busy it can be difficult to see the menu and order. read more

Wow, it's rare that I encounter a restaurant (even a fast food one) that has so many great and terrible reviews during the same time period. This was my first ever trip to a Shake Shack, which is kind of strange since I dream of a good burger and I constantly walk past the Shake Shack in Harvard Square. So, after years of hearing the hype, I decided to make it a day of firsts: first trip to Shake Shack and the first time to a Uniqlo store. And folks, both were worthwhile. One thing I like to do before writing a review is read other recent reviews because it's good to see whether or not things I've noticed are common complaints. But a second reason is to dispute some unreasonable things other reviewers say. One reviewer said that the manager of this Shake Shack should go and get lessons from the manager at the Harvard Square location. Anyone who knows Harvard Square well will point out that the foot traffic at the Harvard Square Shake Shack probably can't compete with the Dedham one, especially on a weekend. The Dedham one is in a prime location in the Legacy Place Mall and it's about 100 yards from a major movie cinema, so foot traffic is significantly higher. It would seem that the answer is to hire more people, but that's an overly simplistic solution. A high-volume place like the Dedham Shake Shack can't just hire anyone; they have to hire people who know how to work quickly and accurately. Such hires also have to be durable and rarely call in sick because that screws up everything. Finding people like that who haven't been hired by establishments paying far more (e.g. Fidelity and Microsoft) is tough in this market. And even if you could find an endless supply of such employees, the other major problem is that the kitchen can only comfortably accommodate a certain number of people. Try cramming in more and everyone starts bumping into everyone else, and it's like what happens when you overcrowd any organism in a space: things go badly in a hurry. Sometimes, the size of the kitchen is inadequate for the number of customers and this can lead to long wait times. I figure that on a big shopping weekend before Christmas, this place was getting hammered. So yes, the wait to order was long, and then the wait to get my food was also long. That's just the situation. As for shakes and concretes, yes, they do get served too melted because they were made too soon. But that's because the person making them is not really connected with the person who puts the final food order together, so they are made sometimes before the burgers are even being cooked. That's why I deducted a star, and the answer to this problem is simple, but I'll let management figure it out. I need to give kudos to the woman who was in charge of putting my order together. I watched as the entire order was just about on the plate (note: I had ordered for me and my two friends, so all three orders were on a single plate), and she picked up a burger and sent it back because it wasn't correct. That's impressive quality control for a place that was scrambling to get through the mountain of orders that had piled up. The food was delicious. The burgers were great (thanks to the right blend and smashing them thin to increase the Maillard reaction), the crinkle fries were solid (note: the fries themselves are not amazing, but there is something about the crinkle cut that just always makes them taste better than straight-cut fries), and the concrete (at least the parts that weren't melted) was also solid. Was there grease on the wrapper holder that the burgers were served in? Yes. But folks, that's why the place has napkins. The burgers themselves weren't oily, but of course some oil is going to seep into the wrapper. The only other option is to serve a dry burger, and no one wants that. I also have to give the cashier (I think his name was Fred) some major props. That place was getting absolutely slammed with customers, yet he was calm and personable. That's exactly what you want at the point of sale. All in all, if they fix the problem with the shakes and concretes, then I'd give this place 5 stars. read more

Very delicious, and dare I say....delicate? Then, 20 minutes later, the manager came out with a free salted caramel hot chocolate---very nice touch. Three comments about the salted caramel hot chocolate: 1. Possibly hot. Just slightly cooler than the core of the red giant star. Had to sip it gingerly for about 20 minutes to get it all down. 2. Didn't really detect any taste of either salt or caramel. 3. Disregard point number two. The actual chocolate flavor was so luscious, smooth, velvety just like a Ghiradelli bar of chocolate melted down slowly... Perfect! read more
