Absolutely recommend! I went with the Naderi and wow--no regrets! I don't even like red meat, but when my husband asked me to try his, I wished I had ordered it instead. My chicken breast kebob was great, but Naderi? Next level! Service? Solid. Even when it's packed, they do their best to take care of you. Ambiance? Unforgettable. If you go, make it a Saturday night--reserve a table, and you'll see why! The live entertainment is amazing. We were so caught up in the show that we barely touched our food! Leila, the singer, had everyone dancing, and even when the plates were empty, no one wanted to leave. A small stage for the singer would take it to the next level! And let's not forget Mr. Albert--he's there to make sure everyone has a great time! Bottom line: Go to Shahrzad, eat well, and have a blast! The owner is super welcoming and respectful, making the whole experience even better. Definitely one of my new favorite spots!

Hungry Pocket makes the best falafel I've ever eaten…read more I started going here in 2009 while attending SMC. It was the first falafel I'd ever tried. Since that time, I have eaten falafel not only in different LA locations but also at locations across the country while living in NYC. Verdict: from coast to coast, Hungry Pocket makes the best falafel I can find. All other falafels seem to taste like dirt in my mouth in comparison. If you don't like falafel, you just haven't tried Hungry Pocket yet. I will edit this review if I find better falafel or if Hungry Pocket has changed/changes their recipe (will be visiting tomorrow for quality assessment purposes). The ambiance is that of a hole in the wall that you only know about if you went to SMC or know someone who went to SMC. You don't want anything to change because the whole point is that it feels like a hole in the wall that no one knows about. The service is direct. You order, they make your food right in front of you, you get it when it's ready, you eat it, and you are grateful. The baklava is also the best baklava. You should get a piece for dessert. Thank you, Jeff!!!

Being so close to a zillion restaurants at my feet, my friend's "significant" said let's do some Mediterranean food tonight. I put my thumbs-up and it was unanimous: Sunnin Lebanese Cafe on Westwood Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd. it was. Well, I never heard of this place, but I said "let's Go"! When we pulled up to this strip mall entrance that was overflowing with human beings wanting a table at very happy this very we had a RESY. We ordered: * Hummus of course - which was delicious * Babaganouj - which was creamy and extremely dippicle [sic] * Beef Kafta Kebab - just lovely * Taboulah Salad - that was excellent * Fool or Ful depending on what Mideast country - was deepened with fava beans * Alamaza Lebanese beer that paired perfectly with our dinner. The staff here were friendly, helpful and accommodating. I've been gone from Los Angeles close to five years now, and every time I come back, I get a nice surprise like I did at Sunnin.

Tear off some pita, scoop up some of the dips, and embrace the delicious small bites. Stuffed Squash and Eggplant: You can get either squash or eggplant, or both. I prefer the squash. The zucchini is firm, just soft enough, but still with the perfect amount of structure. It has been hollowed out and stuffed with ingredients similar to a dolma (stuffed grape leaf). The filling of rice and ground beef is soft. The eggplant is much softer. They are cooked in a tomato sauce and served with a cool creamy yogurt. Babaganouj: This mezze is a roasted eggplant dip. The eggplant is mashed with tahini and lemon juice for a smoky and slightly bitter flavor. It's smooth, creamy, and a bit chunky. Parking: There's a little lot to the side. There's also metered street parking on Westwood Blvd.

The restaurant itself is is so clean, big screen tvs, we were able too watch the World Cup matches. The music selection was peaceful great ambiance overall. The sides of mint and raw onion don't miss. For my main dish I had Chenjeh Kabobs with tasty filet mignon this staple dish wit take you straight to the Middle East. Try it with their signature cherry rice. The freshly cut cucumber and tomatoe salad is very crisp and a perfect side dish. I definitely will come back. Overall 5 star meal. The plates are pretty as well. With fresh cut flowers and plenty of food. The view is absolutely stunning--you can see the Santa Monica Pier and the ocean, especially if you're there around sunset. It's one of those places where you can't help but stop to take pictures because every corner is gorgeous. We started with the Grilled Octopus ($27), and wow.... The octopus was perfectly grilled with a nice char while still being incredibly tender. The gigante beans, red onions, capers, and sea beans made every bite bright, fresh, and packed with flavor. I would order this again in a heartbeat. For our entrée, we had the Fish of the Day, which happened to be the Kona Kampachi ($59). It was cooked perfectly--flaky, buttery, and incredibly fresh with a clean, slightly sweet flavor. You could really taste the quality of the fish, and it was seasoned just enough to let it shine. The service was also fantastic. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcomed without hovering over the table. It made for such a relaxing dinner. A little tip if you're driving: valet is $25 after validation, so parking was super easy and definitely worth it in Santa Monica. Overall, Orla is the perfect spot for a girls' dinner, date night, or celebrating something special!!
