Had lunch there today. We both ordered chicken kabob sandwiches, with a side order of salad and fries. Although we had to wait quite a while for our meal, it was absolutely delicious with competent service. The waiter informed us that everything was made fresh, which was why we had to wait so long. It was a lot of food and we both ended up taking half our sandwich home. Also, the dhoug (cold yogurt drink) was perfect. We looked at the surrounding tables and everything looked wonderful. This is a restaurant to return to. Some other reviewers were complaining about the cost of parking. There is a city lot just one block south on the west side of the street that is free for two hours and is open until 11 p.m. read more

It was truly delicious! The staff were so friendly and helpful. When we wanted to take a group picture they offered right away. We had reservations but needed to add another person last minute and they were so quick to accommodate! Food was perfect, meat was fresh and tender. Enjoyed outstanding Persian cuisine in a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere. We were seated outdoors which felt like a private dining experience. We started with shared appetizers of delicious hummus, eggplant, dolmeh and a yogurt cucumber sauce. For dinner my partner and I shared a scrumptious Sadaf combination #3 which included succulent and uniquely marinated rack of lamb ribs, juicy and flavorful chicken and steak. We highly recommend the Sadaf salad as an upgrade for a small price which includes dates, olives, fresh walnuts and feta. Wine available by the glass and bottle. The Persian ice cream with pistachio and rose water was a divine close to our evening. Some limited street parking available and a lot next to the restaurant. read more

We needed an early dinner spot so we happened on this place. It's a pleasant street-facing dining room with a few outdoor tables on a busy street. The waiter helped us parse a slightly confusing menu (many options, choices, combinations, and substitutions available) We ended up with tahdig, a rice with cherries, some chicken fessenjun, a spiced ground chicken and beef kebab combo, and several salads. The tahdig was a little too greasy and didn't have enough stuff with it (it should have been served with more other stuff or the waiter should have warned us it needed other stuff). It was served alone as an appetizer. Maybe it would have been better with all the other food. The cherry rice was tasty and the chicken was good, although I've had better fessenjun elsewhere. (Not that I'm an expert, I just know what I prefer) Kebabs were super juicy and flavorful. Great seasoning and right off the fire. Portion size was a little small. Salads were good and very fresh. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very patient with us noobs. So overall it was a good value and a tasty meal. Nothing was knock-your-socks-off, but it's a solid meal. read more

Fresh cooked meals, wide menu variety, & a great service. This place is good. Only reason it lost stars is because i've have better Persian food before. But I still really enjoyed my food. I ordered the combination 3 stews which comes with fesenjun, ghormesabzi, & one other bean stew that I forgot the name of. It was pretty good. Went back for the lunch experience. The chicken was not as amazing as the first time. I still like their salad. The chicken lunch special including tip was about $32. It was a large portion. The service was challenging. Our server would forget things and appeared to be distracted. He was on his phone most of the time. It's a charming restaurant but service today was a miss. SADAF was a pleasant surprise -- the food was delicious, and the service inside the restaurant was genuinely great. I ordered the rack of lamb, which was flavorful and cooked just right. My goddaughter ordered the chicken shish kebab sandwich, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp mushrooms -- and while I can't eat shrimp, I was able to enjoy the mushrooms, which were very good on their own. Everything I ordered was well prepared, and the staff made me feel welcome from start to finish. It's always refreshing when the kitchen and the service are both doing what they're supposed to do. Now, parking... that's where the experience took a turn. Like many restaurants in the area, parking is challenging, and unfortunately the parking attendant was rude, which set an unnecessary tone before I even made it inside. Below is what we tried: Hummus - 4 1/2 Stars. This tahini hummus was the perfect consistency and rich in flavor. Definitely get this was a side of pita to scoop it up with, though would have been better if the pita was warm. One order is a portion big enough for 4 people. Juicy Chicken - 5 stars! Cooked perfectly, the name does it justice -- this was juicy, rich in flavor and delicious. Beet Salad - 4 stars. The beets were good, could have used a bit more feta and walnuts. (Personal preference) Plain Tahdig - 3 1/2 stars. My buddy liked this, I thought it tasted a bit stale. This is basically crispy rice that pairs well with stews. Combination of 3 Stews - 5 stars. This was excellent! Each stew was robust and rich in flavor and excellent with rice or the leftover pita from the hummus. I unfortunately can't tell you what all the stews were, but I want them again! All in all, this is a solid spot for classic Persian dishes in an intimate environment. read more

Holy sh... This place is amazing! Funny thing I recently ate at a spot I thought was my #1, but this might just be better. The place looks both fancy and cozy. We came here after my theater performance to celebrate, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the juicy chicken it was drenched in marinade and incredibly tender, savory, and perfectly salted. We also got the koobideh kabob, which was just as juicy and full of flavor. The sautéed mushrooms were a nice surprise too really tasty! Even the tea was served in a super cozy and stylish way. Wow. Unreal. Yes, I'm the American who knows Persian food. Why? Persian food fan from waayyyy back. Plus, I've been with a Persian woman for 11+ years. Thus, I'm practically Persian. Now, let me preface it that I've been to 2 other locations of Sadaf, both Woodland Hills and Thousand Oaks. But this fairly new location wowed me. Cute and modern, a single room creates a different experience than the others. Service was super nice, a team served us, all great. But the food was unbelievably good. The gf and I shared a "Eggplant Delight" (aka "Kashk bademjan") was super delish heightened by fried garlic atop. Then, the king Juicy Chicken was from beyond, grilled to perfection with a slight char, and served with fluffy rice, grilled tomato, onion, and green pepper. MMMMmmmmm...mmmmm! Absolute gem! Very authentic, and I know good Persian cuisine! Excellent quality starters, amazing, juicy, well marinated chicken and very tender beef! Chicken is their specialty and certainly the king of the table - polo! We had four different polo with our chicken and beef and all was very delicious, non-fatty and excellent made!
