If you are going to provide such a terrible quality, you really shouldn't offer the food. The fesenjoon was beyond terrible, if you are Iranian, you know this fesenjoon is unacceptable, basically they added chicken to some water and called it fesenjoon. What a hidden Gem in West Hollywood/LA. Cute little alley of shops where I found Tehran Restaurant. Nothing fancy though very charming. The sweet lady owner took my order. Experience: Came here on a Sat early evening. No reservations, just walk up. We were seated outside, then once a party left we took the table inside by the window. Small space but cozy. It's a good location and next to many other bakeries, shops, etc. Food: Ordered 3 small plates (roasted eggplant dip, hummus, and pickled veggies), tahdig with 2 stews, and the Tehran plate special, which came with a plate or rice and a salad. Everything was very very tasty. From the dips to the stews, rice, and juicy meets. Very fresh, seasoned well, good flavor, a great dinner meal. Service: It was more of an order at the counter experience, not much interaction, but didn't mind it. Parking: Metered parking on Westwood, on a Saturday evening, plenty of open spaces. A colleague/friend had asked if I wanted to join them for lunch last week and this is where she led me to as we walked over. It's located right on S Robertson between W Olympic and Wilshire. I didn't catch much of a glimpse but the inside looked homey; we sat outside in the charming patio area which had several tables. This is definitely a mom/pop type of place and has that cozy/homey feel. The menu is not completely Persian/Iranian but also features some fan favorites and Mediterranean type items. Appetizers/sides: tahdigh with a choice of stew, various mast (yogurt dishes), salad olivieh (Persian style potato salad), and some Mediterranean items (hummus, baba ganoush) and a couple other items; soups (Ashe e Joe and Ash e Reshteh) and salads (Shirazi, Tabouli, Caesar, Greek etc); stews (ghaimeh, bademjan, ghormeh sabzi etc); sandwiches (kabab, kotlet, koo koo sabzi, sussis etc) and various kabob dishes (chicken, kabob barg/koobideh/soltani, vegetable etc) and specality rice dishes (baghali, zereshkh, adas, lubia etc). Kashk O Bademjan Sauteed eggplants topped with whey, sauteed onion, mint and garlic. A good portion and pretty decent. Served with pita bread. Absolutely horrible experience. I'm 17 years old and was treated with shocking disrespect. I sat in a chair that I genuinely thought wasn't reserved or part of their seating, and one of the staff members came at me aggressively--trying to intimidate and verbally abuse me over it. Completely uncalled for. There was no attempt to explain the situation kindly or professionally. I've never been treated like this anywhere else. If this is how they act toward young people, I'd strongly suggest avoiding this place entirely. read more

Today I placed an order through GRUBHUB. I was craving the Ash e Reshteh soup because I hadn't had it in years. I've never eaten here before but I used to get the soup in Glendale. I ordered the soup with tabouli salad and requested pita bread on the side. My order was delivered and while I was eating the soup I noticed green mold on the pita bread. I called the restaurant and spoke to a woman and told her that there was mold on the pita bread. She said that it doesn't come with pita bread anyways. I told her that doesn't justify why I received the bread with mold on it. I told her that I'm going to post a review. She said do whatever you like! read more

The food was amazing in my opinion, as one of the most underrated Persian restaurants in California. I got the #K7 and the meat was very flavorful with soft buttery rice and roasted veggies. I would definitely recommend anyone who loves beef to try it. A sweet lady runs the restaurant and although it was just my friends and I inside, she was so personable and made us feel at home. The inside of the restaurant is a little small but also has lots of outdoor seating where you can enjoy your meal. Small and looks a little hole in the wall - we walked by and thought we had missed it first. Mostly outdoor seating with some cramped indoor. We ordered at counter and paid and then sat down. I think a son came in to eat at his parents place and he took the table next to us and proceeded to have two cell conversations loudly. First on one phone and then a second cell rang and he spoke on that. When I had a call come in during dinner I stepped outside to be polite but he obviously didn't show the same courtesy of those dining. Later when we left the woman from the kitchen had come out to sit at his table and talk. Mast o mousir was nice and creamy though I prefer the shallots to be diced and small not whole pieces. There were huge chunks of garlic. The photo captures how the salmon looked when it was brought out - broken pieces and not great presentation. The rice looked like it had orange food coloring poured on top, didn't look or taste like saffron. The menu had also stated that the rice that came with the dish was rice with dill and Lima beans, bagahli polo was not served. For a $17 entree I would have expected at least a full tomato but it was not - just a half of a grilled tomato and it didn't seem fresh. To make it worse, the salmon had multiple bones. When you order salmon filet you expect it deboned. I get it when they miss one but this had over 10 when I gave up. The chicken was dry and N said it didn't live up to his expectations. I was disappointed and didn't finish. I would not return. read more

While dining, my friend and had accidentally sat in a table for her restaurant and ate yet again came up and berated us, calling us idiots among other words I won't write here. Given no chance to get a word in to even apologize for the genuine mistake. We witnessed her yelling at another pair of people in the same way.
