I visited with my friend and younger sister, and from the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. We were ignored by the hostess upon entering, waited an unusually long time just to receive water, and were never offered bread despite seeing other tables receive it shortly after being seated. The most frustrating part was the excessive wait for our meals. Multiple parties who were seated after us received their food before we did. When we politely asked our server for an update, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. We were simply told, "It'll be a few minutes, it's getting plated," in a dismissive manner. Throughout the meal, our server never checked on our table, never asked how the food was, and never returned to see if we needed anything. We ultimately had to flag someone down just to request the check. I understand that restaurants have busy periods and delays happen, even though at the time it was not busy at all. What was disappointing was the complete lack of hospitality, communication, and basic attentiveness that one would expect from a restaurant operating within a five-star Beverly Hills hotel. The service we received was noticeably different from what we observed at surrounding tables. As young guests who were respectfully dressed, polite, and paying customers, we left feeling as though we were not valued or taken seriously. Whether intentional or not, the experience made us feel overlooked and treated as though we were somehow less deserving of the same level of service afforded to others. The food itself was not enough to make up for the experience. Given the prices, reputation, and setting, I expected professionalism and hospitality. Unfortunately, this was one of the poorest service experiences I have had at any restaurant, and certainly the worst I have experienced at a property of this caliber.

As a Moroccan, I can say it was a great vegetarian version of the dish. Has the staple veggies you look for in a cous cous. My friend got the vegan cauliflower steak and that was so beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great dish for my vegan friend. Our waiter was so nice and really personable as well. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I was so full but could not stop eating this rich sauce over sage cream sauce and dried sage leaves. The roasted carrots were a nice accompaniment with our meal over a puffed feta bed sprinkled generously with pistachio and dill. Despite being full, we were still able to get through about half of the Chocolate Olive Oil Cake which was fluffy and soft with a chocolate ganache to pour over the top. I wouldn't have minded if this came with gelato or ice cream, just a tad but it was still a solid dessert. I do wish they had some non-alcoholic items like hot tea or coffee or espresso to go with dessert, they only had alcoholic offerings. Prior to beginning dinner, we did order some drinks. They had 3 Mocktails on their menu and were out of 1, so my friend and I ordered the only 2 mocktails ($16 a pop) options on offer. We found them okay - just fine, but wished they were excellent or more NA options were available & more care was intended for those of us who are Cali sober. Everything was fine until the dog got on top of the table and I immediately became disgusted. Dogs are lovely but shouldn't be allowed inside the restaurant for this very reason. Let this be a reminder to always ask (nicely) if your table can be cleaned before you enjoy your meal!

Another great touch was, they have a photographer that goes around the whole evening, and takes pictures of the guests. Last night, my friend and I visited this restaurant. We were told there was a $50 cover charge, and if we wanted a table, we had to spend $150-$200 per person. We decided to sit at the bar instead and ordered food and drinks. The bar service was fine, and the show itself was good. However, before we entered, security told us that once the show started, we would not be allowed to use the restroom for 30 minutes. We accepted that, but when the show began, several employees and a security guard stood directly in front of us and completely blocked our view. I politely asked a few times if they could move because we were there to watch the show, but they didn't seem to care. The security guard remained directly in front of me, making it impossible to see. Eventually, I had to move to an empty table by myself just to watch part of the performance, while my friend stayed at the bar. There were plenty of empty tables available, which made the situation even more frustrating. What made this even more disappointing was that by the end of the evening, the two of us had spent about $450 on food and drinks--more than enough to meet the table minimum they originally mentioned. Despite that, we were never offered a table and remained at the bar. Unfortunately, after paying the cover charge and spending that much money, not being able to properly watch the show was very disappointing. Because of this experience, I don't think I'll be returning.
