I wanted to enjoy this place. I was looking forward to it. What I ordered: Solyanka- this was a very good soup. Nice flavors and well balanced. Chicken Piroshki - I Bit into this and they were literally frozen still on the inside. Now, this was a huge letdown and really ruined the vibe of the rest of my meal. First of all, they freeze their food so it's not made to order which is common, I guess....but how do you serve still frozen food?! Beef Cutlet with mashed potatoes and pickles - This was tasty. I enjoyed it. Potato Pierogi - these were very bland. Not much flavor at all. There was also literally no one in the restaurant. It was a Wednesday night so I guess it's slow, but that also is telling. The server was very nice and helpful. She felt very bad about the piroshki. The vibe of the restaurant I can't place. Why are their records? It doesn't seem like a Music theme...it didn't make sense to me. Overall I was disappointed and am still searching for amazing Russian food in the area. read more

Had a wonderful dinner here a couple of days ago. I especially loved the Olivier salad - really appreciate the version without kolbasa, and the little roe topping was very refreshing. My husband enjoyed his beef stroganoff- it was not too heavy or overly saucy. The pelmeni were solid as well, we had a couple of different kinds. He also loved his borsch with salo on the side- normally he hates salo:) but this salo was tasty. Ended up taking two desserts to go and particularly loved the honey cake, which had a distinct buckwheat honey undertone that I really enjoy. Service was attentive and friendly- Margarita is truly an asset to the restaurant. We will definitely be back! read more

Took out a friend for his birthday to try out this newer Ukrainian-Russian cuisine spot in WeHo and am I happy I ended up here. The food was truly fantastic. We tried a Julianne appetizer, which is essentially sauteed beef with mushrooms in a yummy sauce and wrapped in blintzes. It was incredibly delicious, as the meat filling was just melting in my mouth with every bite. In addition, we tried the famous borscht, the assorted art dumplings and wine-infused beef on a bed of mashed potatoes. All of the above really hit the spot, but the wine-infused beef was the standout for me. The delicious beef cooked in wine was so juicy and tender that it was falling apart as it hit my mouth. The taste was truly incredible, hitting multiple taste notes and it was accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes with perfect smooth texture. Truly a masterpiece. At the end of our meal, the kind owner was nice enough to surprise my friend with a cake with a candle. The cake was their artistic take on a honey cake and I must say that it was the best honey cake I've ever had. Multiple layers of the cake complemented each other in perfect harmony, or should I say in perfect melody. The design of the place is very modern and clean, with comfortable chairs and tables for dining in. The customer service was outstanding, from our nice waitress, to the owner paying a visit to our table and telling us about their specialties and the original, artistic way they organize and serve their dishes. In summary, for artistic-looking, delicious European cuisine with great ambience and service, Melodia is the winner and definitely worth a visit! read more

I was sad to see Robert's Russian Cuisine gone for 16 years, monthly, bi monthly, weekly during Covid, for one thing: their beef stroganoff. It tasted like grandmas. Rich with cream and mushrooms, excellent rice. Melodia's version is different but excellent: higher-quality ingredients, varied mushrooms, very tender beef, and beautifully creamy mashed potatoes. Still, with so few Russian centric restaurants left besides Melodia and Traktir, I'd love to see a nostalgic, creamy "grandma-style" stroganoff someday. I'd happily keep coming back regardless. The attitude, decor, bar, professionalism and elevated menu is awesome, it's a great restaurant. My suggestion is as a weekly special for customers like me, grandma's stroganoff. Nostalgia sells. Both were very tasty and the beef was tender. I think they use a nice Icelandic cod- it reminded me of my fave fish n chips at Kingshead. One small issue- the salad that they serve with the fish is more like a coleslaw and a tiny portion. Still a salad but with fried food it's nice to have proper salad greens to balance out the other stuff. A good local place for us and we'll be back. read more

Place is spacious and modern, to our present surprise there was a DJ playing fun European music... We ordered bunch of appetizers ( some twice) and a main course. Every dish was excellent, the portions are smaller, but it screams quality and taste and presentation is everything one would want! This place has something to anyone's, it is a great combo of Easter European food w a twist and French and American cuisine. We tried Melodia Salad and Greek Salad, both were delicious and super fresh! Julien was insane ( ordered twice), the presentation was so beautiful and the dough used in this dish is nothing you have ever tried before ( I promise) Chicken pate was light and smooth, and very tasty! I ordered pasta w shrimp and zucchini in the bisque sauce, it was a WOW!!! Must try! Of course, for dessert, we had cheese and sour cherry dumplings, absolute delight, very light and delicious! Must try! We were cared for by Daria and Vladimir, the owner of the place. The décor is beautiful, and the service staff is excellent! However, families with children should be cautious. The expectation here is that kids remain seated and completely quiet. If a child makes noise or touches something, management will quickly step in to say they are "too loud" or "not supposed to touch." This is incredibly disappointing given that the restaurant charges for children, offers a kid-friendly menu, yet treats children as though they don't belong. The management's attitude toward families feels discriminatory and unwelcoming. A real shame considering the otherwise great ambiance and staff. read more

We were celebrating our anniversary with friends and decided to sample as many dishes as we could. We had juliene, perlmeni, scallops and shrimp in lobster bisque - so delicious. The salads were amazing, especially the Melodia salad. For the main course, we had osso buco, lamb chops and braised beef ribs. Every dish was well presented and tasted so good! The service was good and our food came out hot and like I said before well presented. The ambiance is awesome and I liked that they had vinyl records for place settings and music art on the walls. This place is just okay -- nothing special, despite being called a "restaurant." I'd say it feels more like a casual café. The only thing that really stands out is the presentation of the dishes, especially the cherry dumplings (vareniki) -- they look great and taste nice. However, there are serious parking issues -- it's very difficult to find a spot nearby, and of course, there's no valet service. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and polite.
