The XLB was juicy, just enough thickness of skin and the meat filling taste fresh. No need to order the spicy XLB as it wasn't spicy at all. The pancake that wrapped the beef roll was crunchy. The potatoes shrimp was crispy as well. Only negative thing is I wish is that they add more sauce and a little salt for the spicy wonton. It is not enough sauce. I also love the decor of the place. We came to here after hearing a lot of hype and wanted to check it out for ourselves. The restaurant was very clean and the service was good. Our food came out quickly, which we appreciated. To give an honest review the food overall was a bit bland for our taste. The beef rolls were definitely the highlight and I'd give those a 9/10. They were flavorful and well done. Everything else, including the dumplings and pork and shrimp XLB, seafood fried rice and cucumber salad just didn't quite have the depth of flavor we're used to compared to other dim sum spots. This place has amazing food options and the wait is very reasonable. I came here for lunch on a Saturday and only waited 10 mins. The dishes took a while to come out all together but it was worth the wait. We asked for mild spiciness and it was the perfect level so we could taste the original flavor with a slight kick to it. Beef Roll $11.50 - It's always a must order when I see a beef roll on the menu. The skin on the beef roll is quite thin and it's lightly pan fried. Due to the thin skin, some people may find it a bit greasy, but I personally was okay with it. Even though the beef slices are thin, there's still a good amount in each roll. The thinness allows you to savor each layer all at once and that's a good thing in my books! It's not overly saucy which compliments well with the beef roll all together. Seven Grams is pretty tasty, with quick efficient service, BUT beware if you come with a large group. It's a pretty small restaurant and it'll take a while to get large groups seated. They seem to want to stick with seating people in the back corner for large parties, but that limits timing. We thought we allotted plenty of time for a large group wait but after 40 mins or so, we were getting nervous about being able to eat and get out on time. Well, we ended up sitting, ordering, and eating all within about 45 mins! These guys are efficient! I got the tomato prime noodle soup, and it was good but I'd definitely try something else next time. The egg reminded me of a mcd's breakfast sandwich lol. We were a party of 8 and had a 45 minute wait on Sat during dinner rush. It went by pretty fast because we decided to go walk around Trader Joe's a few stores down. Once we sat down and ordered, everything came out REALLY quickly. I love dumplings and as others have mentioned, it really is a great alternative to Din Tai Fung. I love that the menu is pretty simplistic and they also have a few traditional Taiwanese bites like pig ear and the soups! You can't go wrong with the beef rolls, the XLB obviously, the fried rice and any of the soups. After hearing about it from friends and social media, I thought I'd give Seven Grams a go! I came here on a Saturday night, hoping to score a table relatively quickly, and that ended up being around a 30 minute wait. I had no problem with that, because, when you're with good friends, time is no limiting factor. That might matter more to you, though, so caveat emptor. We were seated pretty quickly after our name was called, and the hostess was very pleasant! Walking in, you're greeted with a very clean, super modern looking chinese establishment with, of note, a large community bar table as well as kitchen adjacent low bar seating. Then, there are, of course, traditional tables as well. Foodwise, we ordered some xiaolongbao, cold noodles, potstickers, and some mabo tofu. Presentation was great, with the steaming basket for the XLB, a cute pan for the mabo, and the other dishes in their own respective bowls and plates. Biting into a the spicy xiaolongbao, it was super savory, and sweet in a savory sense...if that clocks to you?! I enjoyed it a lot, and I think it was easily the best thing we had that night. The mabo was very different than that I was used to, but it was still tasty. the cold noodles were good, and the potstickers were pretty decent too. DTF was too busy so we decided to stop by here and a Sunday. It was pretty crowded as well! Nearly all seats taken up! Their menu isn't as extensive as DTF, it seems like their main focus is on the dumplings, noodles, and soups. There isn't pork chop fried rice but there is seafood fried rice. We got the pork and crab XLBs and were pleasantly surprised! Very juicy and flavorful! We also got the potato string shrimps which were a great appetizer too. To give us some a filling a dish, we got the Gyudon, Japanese beef rice bowl, which came with broccoli and pickled radish. You can place yourself on the waitlist and they will text you to return for your table.
