My parent's house caught fire a couple of months ago and it's been an extremely stressful process dealing with back and forth with insurance. A number of restoration companies quickly arrived on the scene to offer their help, but Josh stood out not only with the fire captain's recommendation, but he also went above and beyond to address and assuage our concerns about the entire ordeal. Their team worked quickly to set up fencing, cover the holes in the house, and remove the water to limit the damage to our home. Josh personally helped us with advice and guidance on the process from filing the claim with insurance to informing us about the resources that we had access to. Throughout, Josh and his team have been extremely professional and friendly, and are quick to answer our texts or calls even at weird hours. My parents don't speak english well, so it's been helpful that they've been very patient with us despite the language barrier and the repetitive questions old folks tend to have. Back in January 2022 I returned home from work to find our refrigerator in the kitchen had been leaking water from the ice maker, covering the kitchen floor with a pool of water, which caused damage to the flooring in the kitchen and living room, including baseboards and drywall in areas. I called my insurance company, who dispatched ServiceMASTER Restore, who arrived the following morning to access the damage and began the process of drying everything quickly. I was provided frequent updates from Nico Ponce, Project Manager assigned to my case. ServiceMASTER removed the laminate flooring from the kitchen and half of the living room, removed the bottom kitchen cabinets, baseboards and some drywall. During the process, some mold was discovered behind the drywall below the kitchen sink. The mold was removed, area sanitized and ready to start the replacement of the water damaged areas. Later when the General Contractor said I needed to schedule a "pack out" of everything from the kitchen and living room, including furniture and kitchen cabinets (All the cabinets were being replaced). I was not sure who to contact, so I reached out again to Nico for a recommendation, and she mentioned they offer "pack-out" and return services and would have Sofia reach out to schedule an estimate. Nicole arrived to assess our "pack-out" needs, provided me and my insurance company with an estimate and scheduled the service. A team of four people arrived as scheduled and did an amazing job of packing everything with great care, including labeling each box with the contents and location (which kitchen cabinet the contents of the box were from) which made it so much easier when putting everything back once the new cabinets were installed. We had a basement flood caused by a broken sewer main up the street from us in Berkeley. The city sent ServiceMasters as their contractor to clean it all up. Hector Hernandez was the supervisor from the ServiceMasters Concord office. Hector and his staff did an amazing job. Wearing hazard suits, they carefully removed and photographed 81 separate items, from furniture to books and small items, and provided a labeled photograhic record for our damages claim. They explained everything that they were doing and took a lot of care. They cleaned the entire basement, sanitized everything that was left completely, wrapped all the stuff that needed to be taken away in plastic in the driveway, took it all away, and ran several state-of-the -art dehumidifiers for several days before removing them. We had a significant loss. I am astounded by the professionalism of Hector and his crew. My husband and I recommend them very highly. read more

My spare bedroom was the victim of a pipe leak in my attic. This happened on a Sunday morning and by Sunday evening, ServiceMaster Restore was out to my house, assessing the damage and placing blowers to dry out the room. I has ServiceMaster come out to evaluate the water damage that had resulted from two roof leaks during a recent storm. I had to pay $250 in advance of the technician coming to inspect the damage--we are less than 30 minutes from the ServiceMaster Concord office. The technician arrived on time, identified and marked the areas of sheetrock that showed water damage and said he would send me an estimate of the cost to remedy the water damage. The technician was in my house 15 minutes and has not yet sent me the cost estimate. I am one unhappy customer and would not recommend ServiceMaster. read more

Farmers sent these guys out for water damage in my kitchen and they exceeded my expectations of a great job! My supervisor was Alejandro Romero and he truly made sure we were happy with the process every step of the way. The guys worked around my hectic schedule to come check on the fans and do any work, and were always so clean and considerate despite my kitchen being totally torn apart. Alejandro tried his best to make my life the least disrupted as possible and I so deeply appreciate that during this stressful time. They did a nice job cleaning a rug. A 12x10 rug runs about $250 to clean (I bought a $250 certificate for $75 during a school auction), and I dropped it off in Concord to save the service fee which was over $100. I will say communication was difficult, somehow I got routed to the wrong office even though I called the number on the certificate, and it took a while to get answers about cost, get to the right place to make arrangements, arrange drop off, arrange pick up. There was a lot of texting and not getting calls returned. The staff were very nice and the job was well done. I think if the communication issues can be improved it would be a five-star experience. Nikki, if you see this I am still waiting for a final bill that shows it was paid by the gift certificate. I got an invoice for the fee but no indication that it was paid. I've emailed twice and still not gotten a final paid bill receipt. read more

I am pretty easy going and you can see from my reviews that I don't like posting bad reviews so when I do it's because of how horrible my dealings with them. We just got back in and I believe the cleaners just left. I know my house wasn't the cleanest but and was last minute to setup service on Thursday to get here on Saturday. First we didn't get a call this morning that they were on there way. We were told that we would get about 30 min call heads up. They just showed up so we had to scramble to get dressed for them to get in. There was quite a bit of areas missed not sure what happened or if they didn't have enough time. For costing over $4000(I had to borrow to get this) maybe I am wrong but top to bottom deep clean means everything is to be clean. What am I missing that so many things missed.... Please let me know.... It is the windows that were very specific and some of the windows and sills were missed. 10 sets of 24 windows and the slider were dirty On the ceiling fans and the oven I wish we would of discussed that because I thought that would be part of deep clean top to bottom. I would of thought they would of wiped the stove top, it was weird that they moved the grates on the stove though. The biggest reason that I was okay with paying that much was because of a deep clean and top to bottom meant everything. If I had known that things needed extra time I would of pushed out our pictures and listing for the house. Please I know it was a last minute setup but I have to clean still and push out pictures to sell house. Unhappy and Extremely Frustrated.... Please let me know Thank you Update: Thank you. I got a return call this morning. She is seeing what she can do. The thing is my wife and I spent the rest of the night till midnight cleaning. I scoured the stove and oven and sink and working on the rest this morning. I know it was a last minute setup and we are thankful but it was a lot of money to us so If at all possible to have some of it back, we don't have much and I still need to get roof cleaned. Thank you Update #2 I received a call back on Monday from Ally from the office and they have offered 10% back and they offered to come back out to do what was missed. We had already cleaned the house by staying up till 2am from Sat to Monday to get it ready. Supposed to get call on the refund and get the refund but nothing for 2 days. Update 3: Ally was very helpful. She was able to get some of our funds back. Very appreciative of her. Let them know that she is the shining star in all of this. read more

Our experience with ServiceMaster was great. We had a slab leak so this was an insurance claim. We fixed the leak couple of weeks before the claim and the area generally looked was dray. Jeremy from SM came over and using his tools mapped out exactly where we saw water over our wooden floor. He patiently educated us in detail on how they will do the remediation work and answered all my questions. They took great care in protecting the rest of our home while the remediation work was done. Very fast! The drying process took several days but they gave our home back for renovation in just over a week. They also helped move our furniture with great care to and from our temporary rental. I will highly recommend their services if anyone needs. read more

They caused more damage than the flooded basement originally. They came out, set up their equipment and never return for nine days. Trash cans, overflowing with water sitting for nine days causing mold. Causing me multiple thousands of dollars of damage and repair from their negligence. We could not get another company because the basement was filled with their nonfunctional equipment.They should be out of business, and I hope they are soon. read more

My dishwasher flooded my kitchen floor and into my dining room and living room carpeting. I called Service Master Restoration and got prompt service. Hector Hernandez supervised a great crew who had to take apart half my kitchen as well as place 4 large fans in the kitchen and dining area with as little disruption to my life as possible. Your company especially AR Department has become very unprofessional. Send an invoice with no backup and report. I've asked multiple times and Erin White refuses every time to send it. This is where you do not get paid. Customer service in this area is horrible. Erin White needs to be spoken to and told to be more professional. We have requested her to update the AP email for our company. Refuses to do that too. Do better! We work with associations we need the reports for records, boards and insurance. We have used others in less severe situations but ServiceMaster is by far more professional, caring and affordable. Our condo is 2.5 hours from our home and was flooded on New Years EVE. Ally showed up in minutes and took troubles from us to herself. Ally, a wonderful big hearted woman relieved all our worries, kept track of our condos conditions and needs! She coordinated everything!! She had their equipment in place and her pleasant and competent crew handled everything. My stress went from 60 to zero as soon as we met. She managed the restoration while we were hours away. Wish I could give no stars. Called regarding a small portion of water damage on the ceiling of my downstairs bathroom and they never took initiative to get in touch with us, especially when they left their equipment there and charged us for every day it was there even though we tried to have them pick it up a week before they finally did. They told us there was mold and asbestos and it would cost us upwards of $7000 to fix and we had another contractor come in and they fixed it for less than half what was quoted by service masters and actually responded to us when we would call. read more

I would give a lower rating if I could. They were the worst. The lower level of my townhouse flooded during the "atmospheric river" last year and ServiceMaster was so shady, they bagged up bedding, trophies, clothes, pillows and then left them outside and the rain got into the plastic bags and they got totally ruined with mold and water..they were supposed to ship them off to a storage unit. Then they removed door moldings and destroyed door frames and left full doors outside in the rain and ruin them. They would never call me back. I tried multiple times and requested to get in touch with the franchisee and they would not provide contact information, nor would they put us in touch. Here is just one email exchange: Good morning. I am reviewing this file due to the delinquency. I have read through the notes, and I can see where there is some disconnect and disappointment. With that said, here is the recap for clarification; Service Master: HOA is not covering the contents portion of the claim - $3715.41 My response: Correct and ServiceMaster was supposed to work with me directly with this portion, BUT Juan would never return my calls, even when he was instructed to by the Board of the HOA. Service Master: ServiceMaster did not remove doors or door jambs My response: Incorrect: ServiceMaster did in fact remove doors and 3 door frames that needed to be replaced; 2 doors were put outside in the rain and were destroyed/warped and the layers of the wood separated. The cost was approximately $2,200 with labor to fix the frames and replace the doors. Service Master: The misplaced base to one bed was replaced by ServiceMaster at the cost of ServiceMaster. The base was ordered from the manufacturer, and they were delivered to your homed My response: Correct, but you never installed them and my son had to sleep on the couch for 4 days while they were being delivered AND you never told me that they were ordered, so I ordered a set on my own which were delivered before yours were. I am happy to send them to you, so you can return them and get a refund! Service Master: Photos have been presented that ServiceMaster never removed the doors My response: Incorrect. There is no way you have pictures that would show you never removed the doors; this is a lie and I am happy to include my contractor in our discussions. Service Master: I know that you have spoken to Paula about your issues, and that she has addressed them proactively. In addition, Juan also addressed your concerns. My response: Incorrect. I have repeatedly asked to have the ServiceMaster franchisee contact me to discuss, but I continue to be ignored and Juan NEVER returned my multiple calls to him personally...ever. He ignored me even when the members of the Board of Director for the HOA told him to contact me. The HOA was NOT covering this amount and Juan needed to work/communicate with me directly. He was incredibly unprofessional and lied. He also had the onsite workers put quite a bit of our personal property in plastic bags and left them on the patio where the rain got in the bags and ruin clothes, pillows, trophies, etc.. Service Master: How will you proceed with the balance? It is clear that we performed work, replaced the base that we could not locate, and we have provided photos that we never removed any doors. My response: Incorrect. It is not clear and you need take a different position with this and make it right. Here is what I am proposing to "proceed" - Eliminate any balance due and we go our separate ways. - Reduce the amount by $2,200 and "move on" and I only give you/ServiceMaster a bad review. - Keep it at the current amount and I give you/ServiceMaster bad reviews, call the BBB, and I reach out ServiceMaster HQ and give them a full rundown of what really happened. Service Master: My goal is to work with you so that we can get this resolved and move on. My response: Incorrect, if you did you would have had the franchisee contact me by now and set this right. They were able to visit the property on Monday and provided a quote later that day. They did an excellent job in cleaning the property within their quoted price and time frame. ServiceMaster is a total lifesaver. We had leaks in our condo about eight months ago, which our HOA and property management company have (to this day) failed to repair. Not surprisingly, the moisture caused by the un-remedied leaks resulted in mold in our master bedroom. Having mold in your bedroom is stressful. I highly Recommend this business. There were onsite within 20 minutes of my flood. Victor was extremely helpful. Calm and patient and he could tell I was shock. Water was everywhere. I hadn't even called my insurance company yet. He talked me through everything and had a crew here in 90 minutes. They stayed for three hours setting up heaters and started the drying process. It took a few weeks and they were beyond professional! They became family. Mayra came two days later to make sure things were going smooth. The next week Josimar came and took charge. Let me know what was happening every step of the way. He boxed up my kitchen with care as if it was his own kitchen. Always on time. They took all the trash that was left after ripping up the floors. I had to run out to pick up kids from school and he vacuumed the living room while I was gone. I'm not sure of his position, but he took charge and made sure this was an easy process! He came back a few more days and just like the day I met him, he was professional, courteous, and showed he cared. His whole team was the same. We were devastated when we came home from work to find that we had a kitchen fire that caused major smoke damage throughout my house. My insurance company brought in Servicemaster to help with my cleaning, packout, and cataloguing my total loss. Which was quite extensive due to the high pressured smoke involved. About 90% of our possessions were lost because of the heavy smoke. We want to give special thanks and recognition to Crystal Espitia for taking the time and care to make sure all our losses were properly catalogued. She was wonderful and sensitive to our loss. She never once turn down our request to have her retrieve items that we realized was going to be thrown away as part of our total loss. Big or small, Crystal understands that those items were important to us and irreplaceable. We also can't speak enough about Crystal's honesty and integrity. We had a safe that we thought was emptied out of valuables, but when the safe was being moved for storage, a drawer that I had forgotten about in the safe fell out and it turned out that I had left several pieces of my daughter's baby jewelry in it. She called me right away to let me know what happened and that she was putting the jewelry with other items that I was going to be picking up. I would never had realized the jewelry was gone until too late as I would have thought the jewelry was in my safety deposit box. Crystal and Servicemaster did a great job. After the heavy rains of early January I called Service Master of San Francisco for help with water damage remediation in the staff office area of our business. SM SF was backed up likely for months, and suggested I call Service Master of Concord. I did, and was immediately assisted. While they were also completely booked in the immediate, we were placed in a queue for a site visit likely in two weeks. During that time I received a few call-backs with updates, and a time slot became available exactly two weeks after my initial call. When I met with Hector as our onsite inspector, his level of knowledge, professionalism, and expertise was impressive and well seasoned from years of experience. His plan for addressing our problem was clearly laid out, clearly communicated, and within a day we received a Scope of Work estimate. Once signed, the work began almost immediately. We needed to coordinate moving of office and cubicle furniture to off-site storage. Service Master provided this service as well under a separate contract. Again, the level of professionalism, diligence, and speed with a significant pack-up and load-out, was impressive, and completed within a day. Within days of signing the contract the coordination between load-out and remediation teams was impressive. The day after load-out of all items, the remediation team arrived, on-time, fully aware of the scope of work, and fully prepared with the proper equipment. Communications from the project manager, Hector, were always timely, clear, personable, and detailed. There was nothing uncertain or vague about the plan and procedures. Every staff person was personable, eager, hard-working, focused, and knew exactly what they were to do. Within the projected time frame we were notified they would be arriving to pick-up all equipment and do a final clean and check. Like clockwork, that is exactly what happened. What could have been a significantly complicated situation of scheduling, unclear communications, coordination of multiple parties, and a project with many unknown variables, was handled in the best manner possible. I cannot more highly recommend Service Master of Concord, and specifically Hector, Ryan, Jose, and Cathy for every single aspect of work entailed in this remediation project. They were the peace and comfort in what could otherwise have been a major headache of a problem. read more

Our insurance referred us to them for a house flood. At 3am we called, they couldn't get a technician. Then called at 9am and said they still couldn't get ahold of a technician. Asked to make a 9am appointment for Monday. All while we've got water soaking into our floors and under our home. We are not impressed with the service or customer service at all.
