My Highest Recommendation for Bio 911 I had a mold problem caused by a leaking faucet and roof at my Mom's house. The mold remediation company that I was referred to, went ahead and started tearing out drywall before any contract was signed. They also would not answer most of my questions and only sent a single photo of what they found and that was only after I asked them to send me photos a second time. I called Bio 911 and spoke to Kirill, the owner of the company. He told me that he doesn't like to take on jobs that are already being worked on by another company, but he told me that he would be happy to come out to inspect and evaluate my problem. He was incredibly thorough. He checked the drywall where visible mold had been seen, checked a nearby restroom even though no mold had been seen in there, the outside wall of the building adjacent to the affected drywall, and even the walls of an adjacent apartment. He detected moisture inside of the outside wall of the building, which was something that the other company had missed, and he outlined the steps needed to correct the moisture problem and mold issue. Kirill did all this work simply because he likes to help people. He did not charge me a penny. How often can you find someone that does things just to help people? It is super rare and I am giving Bio 911 my highest recommendation as a result. read more

I spoke with Kirill about testing our downstairs rooms for mold. He came out once and was not able to give us a clear proposal with a bid without measuring the mold infestation more precisely. We paid a fair amount for 4 different rooms to be tested--$595.--no small amount. The test results came in and were sent to us but as non-scientists, we could not understand what was toxic and what was acceptable. At some point, we were contacted by John Watt from BioClean, a different company, who stated that Kirill had given him our info and he wanted to come out and look at our rooms. I had no idea who he was and wondered whether it was a scam. I asked Kirill and he explained that he worked with John. This is something that he could have explained to us when he was at our house. Shortly thereafter, Kirill spoke with us on the phone to go over the data which he said was a professional courtesy and complimentary as though he was doing it for free and wasn't included in the amount we had paid him. In other words, it was stated as though he was doing us a favor rather than it being included in the $595. we paid him. It was all very confusing. I also could not get a straight answer from him about John and BioClean. John came out and spent a good 90 minutes looking at the dust and mold in the same 4 rooms for which he was not paid. Thus although he works with Kirill, they are separate companies. He then sent us an estimate for cleaning the dust off first and then spraying to get rid of the mold. So Kirill's company does not get rid of the mold. I had to ask John alot of questions until I understood how it all works, something I think Kirill should and could have explained up front. We are not stupid---my husband and I are educated people but it felt like pulling teeth with Kirill to try and understand this process. And apparently we were not the first or only ones who had to ask John so many questions. I give Kirill a 5.0 for his work but 3 for communication. It could and should have been clear from the beginning. read more

This company does an absolute wonderful job of remediation and abatement. We interviewed numerous companies and found them on a website that listed certified companies. The owner of the company is very friendly and runs you through the entire process. Their pricing is up front and they will give you a breakdown of exactly what they are doing. The other companies we talked to were extremely unprofessional, unfriendly, and it was a complete wild card as to how much the pricing was going to be. Very impressed with the patience, communication and quality of work. Kirill responded to my request for a quote and inspection very timely. He came out and determined we did in fact have a mold issue in my kitchen. Very reasonably priced, quality work, great communication and follow up. I wish I took pics before and after. Due to concerns regarding a moldy smell coming from three windows in my home, I contacted Bio911 (https://www.bio911sf.com/). Kirill Mendelson came out the same day that I called and tested the walls around the windows that are giving off a moldy odor. I was ecstatic to learn there is a device that can determine moisture content of walls and that no walls needed to be opened. He found the moisture content to be between1 and 4% and said anything under 10% is not a concern. Kirill suggested that since we have had such a wet winter that I may be experiencing an off-gassing causing some odor. He suggested using a product called Concrobium to clean around the window sills. If I experience any health issues, testing of the air can be done to determine what mold spores may be causing a problem. There was no charge for the inspection and I found Kirill to be very informative, easy to schedule with, professional and as nice as could be. Bio 911 offers cleanup of extreme situations in addition to mold testing and remediation. I will contact BIO 911 in the future should I need any of their services. read more

I was unfortunate enough to have a serious infestation of rats under the house within a year after having the crawlspace completely cleaned up and a thick moisture barrier installed. Well my neglect for just over a year allowed quite a bit of damage, mostly droppings and urine. I had Spaulding come out clean up the droppings and urine, pull down any floor insulation which looked like the rats had been busy in those areas. I was expecting a lot of insulation to be removed but Kirill was very honest and indicated much of the insulation didn't require being removed and ultimately replaced saving me those extra costs. The job was done in a shorter period and the quoted cost reduced. Honesty and quality work. What more could one ask for when hiring a contractor.
